  • being drunk is the funiest thing you can do. troulbe is when you wake up you have to explain to a millon people why you drunk called/text or emailed them

  • oh how I love 'em both! the best kind of music that I've ever heard

  • George Jones is one of the greatest and no one will ever fill his shoes. I saw him several times, loved every show.

  • there just living the dream, getting paid for what they love to do, GOD BLESS YA!

  • old boy music has to be the last of old school country music we missin this sort of talent and thats from ozzzz love this mujik raised on it.

  • Who's gonna fill their shoes?

  • 0;45 Andy Warhol with George, then 0:48 Linda Ronstadt and Bonnie Raitt with George. Outstanding!

  • Who the hell is that poser sitting on that couch with Merle and George. That trash isnt worthy to even breath the same air as these legends

  • @eljefe247 it looks like trace adkins

  • Who the hell is that poser sitting on that couch with Merle and George. That trash isnt worth to even breath the same air as these legends

  • If you wanna download this mp3 goto audioripit doht cohm.

  • Love the intimacy. Hate missing the music, without interuption. Great either way! :)

  • Two of the greatest.

I understand they set up their own tours, that's great, guys, keep your music out there, the world needs you.

  • There are two living legends for sure....I've met Merle in of all places a grocery store in Redding California where he lives....

  • Trace sitting there too.. woohoo!

  • i'd like to say something about Mr. Haggard. i met him in a place i worked... i talked with him and gave him a tape of my music. he left the building and left the tape on the table. the next morning he came back for breakfast. he saw me and said... hey...i forgot to take the tape with me yesterday...do you have another one? i gave him another tape... and was pretty damn proud to have met the man. especially when a song played on the radio that had his name in it as i sat with him.

  • The two best ever no question!

  • Merles my FAV

  • and conway+

  • @CHARLIEREBEL68 Ahhhhh I love Conway!

  • George Jones,Merle Haggard,Dolly Parton,Willie Nelson,Loretta Lynn and a few more are the last generation off Real Deep Country music.

  • @steinsteel yeah new country is nothing it's not even country this is country hank wiliams george jones merle haggard people like that

  • @steinsteel forget Johnny Cash?

  • @steinsteel Cant forget Conway!

  • @Vabrat1969 I listed the singers who"s still alive.Conway and Cash are way up there too.

  • These boys sang what they lived . . . they didn't have a hundred monkeys on a hundred typewriters writing songs until a hit came along. These guys are the real deal.

  • @HALfromNS your right there

  • I do show!

  • We love you George.

  • Two living legends on one stage. Love em both. Nice "Members only" jacket George.

  • Two of the greatest.

  • there will never be two like them ever

  • Merle and George, two of countrys greatest

  • @oklahomacowboy12345 I do believe you must put George Strait in there somewhere!

  • @WhitetailWillie no way! george strait doesn't write hardly any of his material. he is no where near being the HAG. the hag is a true artist. he is the best singer in the history of country music. jones is number 2. merle is a singer and a songwriter. he lived his songs.

  • @johnrunion merle haggard is also a great guitar player. strait is too pre-fab.

  • @johnrunion oh wow really? well that's not cool..

  • @WhitetailWillie merle is an artist. he makes a stand. he stands his ground. he doesn't cave in to the record executives/companies. he pays no mind to any trends that come along. he does things his way. he does what he wants to do. he doesn't take commercial considerations into mind. merle lived his songs. he wrote much/most of his material. strait just does what he is told to do.

  • @johnrunion i understand the feats that merle overcame in country music. i guess in the generation that i've grown up to listening, i still consider george strait as traditional country.

  • @WhitetailWillie i was 19 when george strait hit. i never understood what the big deal was. he, john anderson and ricky skaggs among others were called traditionalists. we still had merle, george, waylon. now i understand that the new traditionalists movement was basically the country music industry creating a phenomenon in reaction to all of the negative press + backlash over the urban cowboy fad.

  • @WhitetailWillie merle had to fight and struggle against the powers that be to make the kind of music he wanted. strait and his generation were given the blessing of the industry for doing what they/the powers that be wanted.

  • 10-4 10-4 I live it.

  • Great video but your notes are wrong my friend. 25yrs ago was in the 80's when the bigger stars had custom busses and recorded mostly in Nashville on 24channel recorders.

  • The two Best!

  • Wonderful. Love the little inserted clips and photos including Elvis Costello, Linda Ronstat & Bonnie Raitt with their arms around George and the clip with Rosanne Cash in the background while George nabs an award. Especially love George saying, "You had a better manager than me at the time." Speaks volumes.

  • Trace Atkins doesn't deserve to be sitting in the same room with these two legends

  • Man you said it right! The country singers today have zero talent compared to these guys and many of their generation....like Kieth Whitley and Earl Thomas Conley to name a few.

  • I heard you there brother. Charlie Pride, Cash, Willie to add on

  • Let us praise the posers, they pretend to be something they're not.

  • @georgeisupset your wrong, that shows what you know

  • Actually, If you read the previous comments you'd see that I was replying to oldpro1977 , who said " let us praise the drunks" So I said " let us praise the posers" ( referring to Trace Adkins). All these "singers" of today need to get their heads out of the record execs asses and take a few lessons from Merle & George

  • love them

  • does anyone have the whole footage of the sick sober and sorry song with george and merle thats being shown in this footage

  • It's like, really hard not to like these two guys and why would you want to try?

  • Boy the stories they could tell! Saw both in El Paso Tx, wow...............What a show!

  • very good

  • I saw george and merle at s.c. this year in m.b. i'm so lucky, my favorites for years, wish i could have gone backstage to meet them.

  • I'd love to have hung out with these two in the Glory days! What a couple of legends! Wish I could see the whole show!

  • George Jones & Merle Haggard are legends...

  • I have so much respect for George Jones so don't hate....but Jim Carrey looks so much like him lol

  • I was thinking the same thing! Exact! I love the Ol Possum too.

  • "BUCK OWENS AND FUZZY TOO!"

  • Song of my life

  • I always thought that Merle had the sexiest lips of any male country singer.

  • That`s two real country men.

  • There was more country during the interview in that room than at the entire CMA awards.

  • Amen...

at least we have Jamey Johnson though; other than that, a bunch of Hannah Montana's running around.

    Pure Crap.

  • what the fuks wrong with hannah motana?

    u asswhole

  • nothing is wrong with Hannah Montana...when she is legal, i will put it in her pooper...

I said "a bunch of Hannah Montana wannabe's"...meaning that todays country has a bunch of pop stars in it, no soul...no country...no whiskey drinking...no wife beating...no dog loving...no more Waylon, Cash, Merle, Hank, Strait, Hank JR, Twitty, early Garth, Chris LeDuex...etc...etc...bunch of crap today...PURE CRAP.

  • lol!!!!!

  • hate to say it But Hank Fr. was terrible.....

  • They're coming to Corpus Christi, Tx. in July!! Hey all... keep Dan Seals in prayer. He died this past March.

  • Hey folks, these are the two greatest country pioneers left alive - don't speak too harshly of them...we will miss them when they are gone.

  • @garymoni , so true, so true!

  • @garymoni as the song goes " who's gonna fill their shoes? "

  • @garymoni I tend to agree!

  • wooo! gotta love this song. get it George and Merle!

  • Do you boys remember

    Janis Joplin.

  • Oh Yeah I remember Janis

  • gees old merl has seen better days he must have beded a lot of women in his time

  • it isn't the bedding that made him look that way, it's waking up in a sleazy motel after an all-night boozing binge.

He was a lush and enjoyed getting drunk.

Too much money and too much power leads to excesses.

  • So true, so true. You are a born philosopher my friend!!

  • Yes he sure is

  • true the alcohol has knocked many a man

  • Two kings....

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you for sharing.

  • Check out "MERLE HAGGARD MARTY ROBBINS UNUSUAL VIDEO"

  • I love it so much!!!!!

  • A couple of modern day legends. There aren't many left.

Please take the time to enjoy folks, as you're not likely to see anything like this again.

  • my favorite George story is him riding to get beer on a lawnmower.lol.

  • There is a great video of him getting arrested on his lawnmower.....

  • Two of REAL country's best! Love 'em both!

  • to merle and george you are the greatest

  • Great video thank you for sharing! really enjoyed this from an ol Possum and Hagg Fan!

  • great video

  • It sounds like George had quite the life I read his book and I enjoyed it very much. He admits what he did wrong in life and it also sounds like he had alot of fun too. Everyone calls George the bad-ass I think he was like every other drunk but he just had loads of talent and he made it through with all the help of his fans and all the ones that loved him personally. He is a true legend. I love his laugh on here.

  • Only a hole full of idiots would argue over "Automobile" when the subject is good music!!!!!

  • Wow 32 seconds into the interview, there's Trace Adkins sitting on the sofa with a guitar!

  • Great video but you are wrong that they traveled in cars when George and Merle recorded together. I was in the business when they cut their album and both got around in very nice customized tour buses and had been doing so almost 20 years.

  • fastfocustv didn't say cars, said automobile, a bus is an automobile.

  • Not in the American context.

And for what it's worth, when Merle and George cut their duet album it would have been done on a 48 or 64 track machine...two tracks were only in use at radio stations or for dubbing an already mixed and mastered tape.

  • Automobile does not mean car. A bus is an automobile, a truck is an automobile, a motorcycle is an automobile. Even in America.

  • Only a hole full of idiots would argue over "Automobile" when the subject is good music!!!!!

  • as true as this is for a lot of the time, I can recall them loading up into station wagons in Sioux Falls back in the late 60's. The industry back then was up and down and that included transportation

  • This is classic!Giants among people my absoloute favorites, the hag and the possum if you havent heard kickin out the footlights again [Duet]youre missing a good 1 thanks for the video.Does anyone out there no if theres a video for the song O'L George stopped drinkin today off the shine on album? if so somebody post it or put it on the record player thanks.

  • i guess you wont be voting for Obama?

  • POR, how did you end up commenting on a site of two of our legends? I saw your profile, you're suffering, good luck. Heal yourselves. pissontheroof is disturbing, as is kkklan666. This is beautiful American Music, take your burdens somewhere else.

  • Two of the greatest legends of our time!

  • I've got an old record of this by Lefty Frizzell and Johnny Bond - The song Sick Sober and Sorry is credited to Atchison/Hazelwood.

  • That record is awesome!

  • whats the name of this song?

  • kkklan666, because you're not from here i'll be kind. It's probably called, "Sick, Sober, and Sorry". I would add that i hope your handle kkklan666 has nothing to do with the meaning it has for us. These are two artists who though familiar with that ugly legacy have more to do with the melting pot, and the common american experience that we share and makes America the Beautiful.

  • Now, that's a pair, that beats three-of-a kind! :c) Thanks for posting this!

  • much love for those guys...

they did have waay too much fun in 70s though

  • Yeah, no one ever will fill their shoes/boots.

Anyone have the one of Merle imitating Cash, Robbins, and Owens on Glen Campbell's Good Time hour? It was on CMT about 4-ish years ago, on 40 greatest tv moments.

  • He imitated them on an LP I still have, Live at Liberty Hall, Philadelphia, I think it's called. Great impersonations!

  • Oh. Thanks for the reply. I wouldn't mind seeing that one.

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • The new crop of singers are punks and sissies.

None of them will ever be the talent of George and Merle. New country just plain 'ole SUCKS. People are easy to please these days.

  • Boy are you right...nobody will ever care in today's "country" music.

  • amen

  • Haha Trace Adkins siting there in the same room as these guys. Honky tonk badonk a donk.........my ass! I wish there was more of these guys today!

  • they are still the greatest

  • If only you kids knew what went on back then to bringf on the counrty music of to day

  • Yes Sir/Ma'am?. Agreed. We do remember Brush Arbors..We remember driving down shell roads with the crunch beneath our tires...We remember "asking a lady for a dance", but We remember most of all..those sacred three words... "Duty, Honor, Country"!

  • Oh I love them both..I'm completely touched by this Vid!Very glad I can tell

  • I wish I could get in contact with Merle or George. They are my brothers fav-. Now he is in the Methidas hospital in Indy in a coma. He has been that way for 3 weeks now. If anyone is out there and reads this comment PLEASE I beg of you to help me. God bless you all.

  • Someone needs to post the clip of Merle doing Marty Robbins from a Ralph Emery Special in the 70's. Classic, classic stuff. Love it :)

  • III ARMY

  • Garry Owen Brother!

    Your MOS?

  • take me back to the 70s - any day !

  • Tremendous legends..sadly they are hardly ever played any more we all have to listen to what is called country music now with all the wanna bees who cant even begin to Fill Their Shoes or walked where they have

  • They are simply the best. I wish I could have hung with them in the 70's.

  • Me 2!!

  • I have never liked his haircut, but always loved his great voice :O)

  • pure class-no one will fill their shoes

  • two of the very best, just love them..

  • great video

    they are both legends

  • They're both the best. I love 'em both.

  • Great to have these two wonderfu; entertainers still doin' it. Keep Giggin'

  • I am a telling you folks those guys are my kind of singers and I am sure lonesome for that music these days

  • Its ALWAYS great to see the Country Music Legends! If they ever have a "LEGENDS DAY" at the Grand Ole Opry, you can count me there!

  • I wish them two boys could live forever. I like knowin there's folks like them walkin this earth. :)

  • i love merle and george,great video

  • it is nice to see these old cats get a chance to sit together and remember the rebel days when they totally changed (for the better) OUR COUNTRY MUSIC!!!

  • their just good ole boys u dont like it

listen to rap for a while

  • CINDY GET OUT OF THAT FOUL MOOD WOMEN?

  • These guys are so TIGHT and cool.I just love'em

  • Carmonyt...that is one point I will not agrue! ... but if someone says anyone other than the original Hank is better than Merle I'd have to diagree! Take care! It was good to hear from ya!!!

  • Get rid of Lorrie Morgan and that other goof.

  • Lorrie and Trace Adkins are great talented people.

  • They're in the wrong company here. You don't have to agree with me, nor I you.

  • cindy the Hag and George aren't their WRONG company..every great new commer looks up to the legends, whats so wrong with WANTING TO HANG OUT WITH A LEGEND THAT YOU LOOK UP TO?

  • You can't even spell (or perhaps type), 55.

  • IM NOT DOING SPELL CHECK AND IM NOT 55

  • Your name has 55 in it. Bet you voted for W.

  • merle haggard is the greatest singer-songwriter in the history of country music!

  • Hmmm, i'd like to agree with u on that point, merle is great my dad brought me up on him, but my dad also brought me up on more of Hank Williams Sr. so i'd have to say that Merle is second best only to Hank.

  • He had a cataract operation and his eyes are very sensitive.

    Love ya Possum,

    Shawnintennessee

  • I think maybe light hurts his eyes!!
