  • Just start the training for this years event. This video is very stimulating! Thanx so much.

    Nice music tooooo :)

  • Nice vid, very inspirational, we are going out there in few weeks to give it a go, who knows if I will make it or what time !

  • Great video!!

July 2th i will do my first Marmotte. Watching this video makes me smile!

  • Very impressive. I hope i can ride this event someday.

  • Great video, which made me even more pleasure to the La Marmotte and has especially encouraged me to purchase a helmet camera. Thank you again for that and a healthy, happy and easy-round success in 2011. This year I want to be with the Les 3 Ballons and the Engadine Cycle Marathon with a helmet camera at the start. Perhaps the Ötztaler, if I have luck of the draw. Well, then all the best and please do keep it up.

  • Really good video with great music. Watched it about 50 times now.

  • Great video. Love it. Well chosen music, I watch this video many times and I never get tired. Muy buen video. La música es muy buena. Greetings from here to all the Marmotte racers. Vive La Marmotte!

  • Great impression this tastes for more!!!

  • Wow, very cool.

  • Nice video man! Last year(2009) I turned 18 and could finally ride the Marmot! Eventually I did it in 9h and like 10 minutes.. but the Alpe d'Heuz was killing me.. literally crawled up that mountain!

I hope I can get under the 9 hours this year!

  • What an inspiring video. I just started cycling last year, this year I'll tackle an easier cyclo. Gradually building up to 2012, then I want to start in the Marmotte. What a superb performance you did there! Truly amazing.

  • Not long now! Been counting down the time since i crossed the finish line last year. Plan to do 9/10 hours

  • Dat is een prestatie van formaat!

  • this video is awesome... breath taking climbs and beautiful views all around! thanks for sharing this!

Am gonna try and complete in 8h 30mins, however would be happy just to complete.

  • @TheTonyMB Heej i see you there ,i want to ride him also in 8.30

  • respect pour tout...

  • Great video, glad you took your camera along to record it. I have entered the 2010 Marmotte (my first European sportive) and am looking forward to it! :)

  • What a stunning video and soundtrack! It makes my hair stand on end. I'm riding this as my first European sportive next July and I'm shaking aleady... ;-)

  • nice video ,i rode him in 1999( 8.37.36)

and next year i will ride him again

  • Extraordinary video, thanks !

I did the Marmotte in 1986, thank you, your video is one of the best about La Marmotte

    good music

  • Very welldone on the video and your times guys, i did 9'20 on my first marmotte!! i had a bad 3inch tear in my rear tyre decending col du glandon (luckily no bang! ouch!) & two french riders guided me to a cycle shop giving me a FREE TYRE!! VIVA-LA-FRANCE!!!!!

  • Nive vid man!

I was there also, I did it in 8h 04'.

27 minutes better than in 2008, my goal was to do it under the 8 hours, but the heatness on Alpe d'Huez was killing me!

  • Well done, great time. I had hoped to be a few minutes better, but like you, the heat on Alpe d'Huez turned it into survival on the climb. My goal for my eighth Marmotte next year is under the eight hours. I don't think I'll get near the 7:41 that I did in 2002, but under the eight hours would be good.

  • Well done on your time, am over there in three weeks to have a crack at the route and do some other climbs as well. Great footage, which camera did you use for this ?

  • I use a Canon Ixus 860 IS, and hold it in the hand. It's more a camera for taking photos, but it's small, fits nicely in the back pocket, and the video quality is great for a film like this.

  • i rode the marmotte for the first time on saturday...having said that it was the first time i have riden in the alps being only 18 and did 11h11min quite chuffed.....very good footage and camera

  • Well done, Mattieoo. Saturday was a very tough day with the heat, especially on the Alpe d'Huez. It will get a little easier after the first - you know what's coming.

  • Thanks for this superb video registration, Russell !

You were just a little before me, because I had approx. the same time and started 8:05. I embedded both your video's on my website.

    Best regards,

    Siem Eikelenboom

  • Thanks, Siem. I was probably a little behind you as I had number 7202 and started in the group at 7:50.

  • Great video Russell, fab momento for me. I'll upload my short video of the descent from La Freney to La Garde (Dutch Corner) on the D211E. See you. Tim

  • Thanks, Tim. I know the D211E, it's an amazing road.

  • nice to see after cycling it! Thx for posting!
