This was a 5D. The white balance was set to auto as I recall. It could have benefited from a custom setting but the camera was fresh out of the box and I had no time to test or review the directions before this job.
@bluelab How do you do when shooting a ceremony since it can only take 12 minutes at a time? You can't monitor your audio either...No VU meter, only at the menu which you can't access while recording. I have 3 Canon 5D mark II and i only shoot weddings with my Sony EX-3 which you can zoom, watch your audio, have XLR inputs, etc. Without a doubt, the depth of field from the HDSLR is much better (shallower) but to me it is a pain in the ass shooting video with these 5D cameras.
I liked it, in general terms. I wish you'd taken longer pans and had mixed the background ambient audio in certain cuts, it would have shown the superb capabilities of the 5dMKII. All in all, it was very good. Thanks for sharing.
I have to disagree with "helisoto" I thought the video was by far the one of the greatest DSLR footages I've seen so far. And I've watched many of them! And the video editing and especially the singer who sounded excellent and contributed to the whole feeling of the video. I'm sure the Ritz Carlton was extremely pleased. May i ask what video editing effects and program you used?
The 5DMKII takes 1,920 pixels by 1,080 HD video using the full chip size which is why it has the nice soft look. The compressed quality here is nothing like it looks out of the camera. The color, contrast and resolution are amazing.
Video is OK, but the quality is not very good. I've seen better from the 5D Mark II. Unfortunately, the singer on this song sounds very amateur and pretty bad.
Nice job!
What lens did you use on this project?
