The album's name is Por kon pialeh raa. It is one of the old works of master Shajarian. I had the tape but lost it a few years ago.

This beautiful music that was that was composed by Ostad Mohammad reza lotfi on a poem by Nima Youshij. The reason that the opening sounds European is because it was arranged by some one else rather than Lotfi himself. It is interesting that everywhere in the world a piece is known by its composer and in Iran not only it is famous by its singer but some people actually omit the composer's name. Modernity hasn't quite reached our country yet it seems.

i agree with you buddy but keep in mind taht iranian music is much more poem centered that western music and that is because of the rhythmicality of persian poetry i think taht is one of the reasons that singing and poetry draws a bit more attention than the music itself and then persian music can't even be compared with western music regardind enrichment but what you said also is one of the considerable reasons as well
