Seriously this is not a difficult shot. The only factors that make it somewhat hard are the distance and speed. He didn't need to masse the cue ball, it was a clear shot, and he didn't have to use crazy english to get shape for his next shot

That's one of the greatest shots ever played in modern snooker...that's genius

and that is very hard to do coz the cue ball is by the top rail so u can't put back screw to it and it's straihgt so if u pot it without screw or the rail first u will pot the white to

completly agree, he could have made that shot without the cushion to be honest, and still left a decent angle on the blue with a decent amount of screw.

btw, I think he played it with a trace of left hand side as he looks at it, and since side comes in effect after contact with a cushion, it was even harder to play the shot correctly... and yet he did! great one indeed : )

One, he was up against the cushion, making it harder to hit the cue ball. Two, he's taking the shot from 11 feet away. Three, and although you can't really tell from the video, the pockets are so narrow that it's not uncommon to see that shot missed from three feet away.

Other than that, really nothing :)

Four, he had to it with pace, guaranteeing the brown rattles out of the pocket if it wasn't hit perfectly. Shot softly, the cue ball stops near the corner pocket and Selby is left with a corner-to-corner shot on the blue.

Aside from all that, it was a piece of cake...

i guess you do play pool and have never played on a snooker table, not? on a pool table this shot is dead easy. on a snooker table you'll barely hit one out of ten.

@Ruvinio I agree. It is hits any of the rail before entering the pocket area, it will rattle out on a snooker table. Very little margin for error, unlike a pool table. Move that ball up to the second long rail, and it would be an equally difficult kick shot in pool.
