A friend who works in advertising tells me this is "highly illegal."
I find it incredibly sleazy. Like these shows aren't already jam-packed with product placement advertising. Shame on The CW and Burger King.
It may be sleazy, but it won't do jank. The one study from the 1950s involving "Drink Coke" did bugger all for proving subliminal messages work - the study was fudged big time. People aren't Skinner box automatons that automatically react to outside stimuli - a little thing called the forebrain does a damned fine job of regulating those impulses.
