I guess the artist can call it drumstep if he wants, which is kind of an Avril Lavine being a pop artist rather than punk rock artist I guess. I'm going to tell you that even if he didn't label this song drumstep, it would still be drumstep. Reason number one being the bpms fit right into that 170ish style especially during his fill ins and bridges. Calling drumstep a mix of dnb and dub is "I hate to say it" vague, as both genre's fluctuate too much. I know where the name comes from
