Haha, you relative pitch people drive us crazy asking "what note is that?" all the time. My sister has always bugged me like that. Lol, no but seriously, i feel for your son and all the questions he has to endure from everyone who knows he has perfect pitch.
@RegiFilms no no no haha, relative pitch is what nearly everyone in the world has. It's where you can hear musical tones and understand them. Doesn't mean you can know what notes are with any outside sources of help. Your may have heightened pitch. That is where a person could possibly know certain notes or keys but they can't get them all. :)
haha!

Nice talent, wow.
I wonder though, out of curiosity, about the relative motion of the pitch heard. To what degree do you suppose the
boat's movement altered the pitch (by way of the Doppler Effect) heard from the listener's position? Someone show me the math on that.... ;)
Regardless, and again, good job kid!

@sliptwixt I don't think the boat was moving quickly enough for the Doppler Effect to be noticeable

Man I wish I had perfect pitch. I always come pretty close but I can't ever get it completely right.

@dtrainxc I'm kind of glad I can develop perfect relative pitch. Way more useful ;)
