It truly baffels me, that people get confused between MPH and KPH. Real simple people: it is a zx10 which means its a liter bike which means out the box it does 189mph plus or 299kph plus. Speedo stopped at 189 which means it mph and the bike actually kept on excelerating past that in sixth. I can't belive I even waisted my time explaining that.

The 1098s with open termis accelerates faster than what i saw that speedo doing. Not so sure above 140mph as thats all i took it to as i never had a long enough straight to test it.

i respect this attempt here.... but i'd have to say that the 2008 CBR1000RR is quite a bit better. i can't wait to test it. look at the Jonny Rea vid on youtube with him riding the RR, and btw its the only video i've ever seen that properly records a motorcycle in action. watch it and you'll know what i mean.

no, oicwrj. i actually did some research and watched videos and read review on both bikes from guys who have ridden both bikes. a nice review of the 2008 CBR1000RR is at motorcycle dot com on the front page and that writer had ridden the 10R previous to that review. read both reviews and then you tell me which one that rider likes better. also the stats seem to point to the 1000RR being better. and AMA racer said it's the best street bike he's ever ridden, now thats saying something

The speedo is reading mph,at the end of the straight he hits and indicated 170mph+ if that were kph it would be about 110mph

all magazines are agree on the fact that this bike got NO 200cv but a lot less and you can feel it by watching r1 07 lap on katar and this one, definitively a huge difference in favour of r1!
