  • "Hey, you got yourself a fish biscuit, how'd you do that?", "I figured out you complicated gizmo" "It only took the bears two hours." "How many of them were there?" I have that whole scene memorized

  • this song sounds fantastic and my band is playing it, but its super boring and not hard at all.

  • My school marching band played this to the counter march...you people probably have know idea what it is, but my is it fun to march too. If you want to see my band do this, look up nhmb and march show 2011. amazing. im one of the tuba players.

  • @FemaleTubas Counter march? I'm not too familiar with American drill movements, but in Canadian Forces drill, a countermarch is a drill movement to turn a band around and invert the positions of the members.

  • @FemaleTubas Do you play the tuba or a SOUSAphone?

  • @Blarginin do you know that mr. Sousa ( my all time hero ever!!!!!!) did not actually invent the sousaphone. Although he did make it famous

  • @KingdaKong161 He gave the man who invented it the idea for it, though.

  • Played this in 5th Grade county band. By god, what a glorious moment for a tuba.

  • he is SO USA .

  • truely this a geat song, that is until you have to play it for 45 minutes straight

  • Classic mistake! Trumpets - Tacet first time through at grandioso!

  • 2 people are of the taliban.

  • We are playingthis in our concert on No. 15? XD

  • we were playing this in band clas...we failed :(

  • I was working on music theory homework while listening to this, and I literally timed the finishing of the last problem with the last two notes of the song. On the first, I threw my pencil down, and on the second, I slammed my book shut. I feel like such a boss.

  • Remember this song from "The Dirty Dozen" when the general inspects Lee Marvin`s men, but I never knew the name of it. Thanks for posting it.

  • What band is playing all of these songs?????

  • @newjean2000 US Military Bands

  • @newjean2000 ours is!!! yuck!!!!

  • I wish we played this version of it at my school. Most of our trumpets don't give a sh** about band....

  • este tipo de marchas militares son muy motivantes y le levantan a uno la auto estima sobre todo por las mananas hojala pusieran algo de su biografia atte argaso gracias

  • These are great!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting all the good music, Zzahier and BRAVO from the USA !.

  • I get to play this in the Memorial day parade! Being the only band from Virginia is an honor. GO FLUTES!

  • I played this in band in the 10th grade. I played the flute and the bells (xylophone).

  • Is there a piccolo part normally?

  • @Live4Flute4Ever I think so. The music I had was C Flute and C Piccolo

  • @Live4Flute4Ever It kinda seems like you can hear it in some parts. But not others.

  • Man oh man that boy Sousa could sure write himself a catchy march tune. I could kiss him! (non-gay!)

  • oh god, im in8th grade playing the re-scored version by Bill Holcombe and the trumpet part is nasty!

  • "Hey, you won yourself a fish biscuit, how'd you do that? I figured out your complicated qizmos, it only took the bears two hours. How many of them were there!?"

  • @TheChristmasFan LOST!

  • @gizmoguyar Yes

  • This march is so much fun. I play clarinet in my high school concert band, and we're going to play this for solo/ensemble contest this year.

  • @xSHUTxMExUPx69 cool i play clarinet to but im in 7th grade n we r playin this for concert season

  • This is a Masonic March, written for the annual encampment of the Knights Templar, before 1900....The Crusader March is also dedicated to the Knights Templar Degrees.....And of course, "Nobles of the Mystic Shrine" is for the Shriners...

    Dale

  • i played this song at my first band concer this year. (2010)

  • Hey! You got yourself a fish biscuit!

  • im playing this song in my 7th and 8th grade band.

  • My highschool band plays a sousa march every year, thunderer is by far my favorite :)

  • Yessssss. Brings back those good memories. Marching down the parade grounds in mass formations while Mr. Sousa plays his best stuff. Washington Post Marchand the Thunderer. Perfect for graduation. Hooah!!!

  • REWARD REWARD REWARD :D LOST !!!

  • For those of you who think it's "Souza," there's an easy way to remember that his name is correctly spelled "Sousa." The last three letters are "USA."

  • Lol the fish biscuit music!

  • Hey, you got yourself a fish biscuit! How'd you do that?

  • i have to play the thunderer in our band concert

  • The way this song is played by my band doesn't sound anywhere close to a march as this.

  • One of my first Souza favorites! The middle medley beginning at 1:08 in grade school made me sing and think, "Do you know the Muffin Man, he lives down Drury Lane?"

  • @cameraboyqb8 thats nothing like the muffin man?

  • i am playin dis in my school

  • @AllStarAtEverything Sounds to me like you need to spend a little more effort in English class. Literacy would be useful in your future life!

  • my HS band is playing this song. i play the trombone part and my section can play it but the trumpets cant, which figures for my school.

  • Im From His School

  • great to play on the street

  • i have this for hte bassoon

  • he does write great marches, but the horn parts aren't very exciting...

  • @edboy1912 That's why he's dead. God is a Horn player.

  • The King March!!!!!! Great Sousa!!!!!!

  • @darioeuphonium . . . Sousa is referred to as The March King . . . not the King March! Martin Luther King did the King march!

  • @Cinnamon39 ok, exscuse me! Thanks for correction!

  • John Phillip Sousa= Musical Genious! Especially with marches.

  • i like the trombone part.

  • Happy B-day John Philip Sousa o3o.

  • ahahahahaha I played this for the RedDeer Royals once.... loll it was pretty hard marchign with a euphonium

  • Hey Zzahier this is Sousa! At least you didn't attribute this march to Bagley like you attributed National Emblem to Sousa.

  • 5 stars. Makes you want to get up and march. What America and the whole world needs is a great Sousa revival.

  • @fhreimers -You got that right!

  • @fhreimers - Funny. It makes me hungry of fish biscuts!

  • @fhreimers YES!!!!

  • @fhreimers I'm 38, and believe it or not, I first heard this in my first grade PE class! Our PE teacher was a real music lover. And, being only a kid, I thought that the second part of this medley sounded like "Do you know the Muffin Man? He lives down Drury Lane!"

  • Josh Holloway and the fish biscuit dance

  • Hi! This song is very nice! I had the all LP by John P. Souza. When I was learning to play trumpet it was one of the first march that I played and after it was one of the first that I taught my students and that I loved to conduct. Thank you to give back these nice memories.. =)

  • @ClaireHellsing - Sousa was the premier pop musician of his day - I added this to my 1889 playlist (the year my grandmother was born).

My channel is, so far, an 8000 song archive of 120 years of pop music. Playlists for the releases of every year back to 1889 and 350 artists from around the world, each on their own playlist. Hope you'll take a look.

  • Inspiring! Also... this tune was on LOST so I thats how I found it... (When Sawyer wins a fish biscuit)
