  • This shit is hard

  • @SuperMe4lyfe Thx

  • sup balistik94, if u could remake this video, would you? this is some really good stuff..

  • @YOMUDAWUZHERE I don't remake old videos. Their qualities and their flaws are like a snapshot of who I was at a certain point in time and I like that.

  • i love the movie and i love this video too,if anyone wants to see great swordmanship and unarmed combat that was derived from the samurai check out aikido videos and morihei uyeshiba videos he is also known as o sensei, he is japans greatest martial artist.

  • great video, toshiro mifune is really great and if anyone wants to se more videos on swordsmanship or japanese martial arts look up osensei jo and boken demonstration by o sensei of the founder of aikido

  • Really good movie!

  • WHERE CAN I FIND THE SCENE WHERE TOSHIRO MIFUNE FIGHTS AND KILLS A DOZEN SAMURAI FOR MISJUDGING HIS CHARACTER?

  • @ABRARKHANISM Friend, that video is flagged almost as soon as uploaded. I uploaded it on an alt channel myself, but it was flagged two days later.

  • I loved the video, but it quit so abruptly? The sword of doom is one of my all-time favs, too. Thxs for makin' the vid.

  • @teloscaylos Thank you.

  • It ended so abruptly because....this story was the longest running novel in Japanese history. It appeared in newspapers from early 1900's for many decades. When a movie was started, they wanted to do other parts, but never did. Now it is impossible to do it....once Nakadai solidified his characters nuances like this, you would only ruin the movie by replacing him. NO ONE can do this character like NAKADAI. in my eyes...there will be no more Sword Of Doom. ALSO watch Zatoichi Festival of Fire

  • @keystoneheights Thanks so much for the grand info! I was unaware of the specifics and have never researched the history of the film(s). Like you, I cannot imagine anyone doing a better job than Tatsuya Nakadai & Toshirō Mifune...just amazing. I will watch for Festival of Fire and thanks for the recommendation!

  • sword of doom was a fking awesome film

  • Nakadai makes DeNiro's Travis Bickle or Pacino's Tony Montana look cute in this movie. Can't think of any movie character that was so inhuman and human at the same time. I'm the type to think the abrupt ending was arsty so I didn't mind it at all, in fact I enjoyed it - who says a story should have a defined end, like the end of a life? You can expect the end anyway - Nakadai kills everyone until Mifune gets rid of him. Again. We all missed that duel though, that's for sure

  • @87Julius Nakadai's performance was amazing. The abrupt ending bothers me but the rest of the movie is great. I'm not sure Nakadai would have beaten Mifune's student but I wouldn't bet against him that's for sure.

  • @balistik94 I actually read somewhere after writing this comment that the Sword of Doom was based on a novel written before ww2. From what I hear, what happens to Nakadai's character is that he somehow becomes blind, somewhat remorseful of his past but hunted by his karma, and is still an amazing swordsman. So I now doubly prefer how the movie ended - it crystallizes the immoral aspect of his character. The novel never was finished either, so we wouldn't have gotten a '"proper" ending anyway

  • @87Julius Oh yeah the movie ending is much better than Nakadai turning into Zatoichi lol.

  • @87Julius Yep First was a trilogy Satan's Sword (original is The Great Buddah Pass) with Raizô Ichikawa

    1)GREAT BUDDHA PASS

    2)THE DRAGON GOD

    3)THE FINAL CHAPTER

That trilogy is great. Ichikawa' doing really good cus he's great swordsman and kabuki actor as well, and he got some badass samurai movies, so go for it too

    w ww.youtube.com/watch?v=WPttNpne-rg

  • @OneInchCobra and when his character went completely blind DAIM he is unique and inimitable

  • @balistik94 Nakadai's character was trained by his father and after all he has his own style which is perfect - i mean he got a highly advanced level and there is no way average skilled dojo students would beat him. They are simply practicing their skills with other students in dojo, and that guy is killing everyone who stands in his way, even Mifune might have been killed by Ryunosuke. Students don't stand a chance that's for sure bro

  • @OneInchCobra Well Ryunosuke had a chance to kill Mifune's character but he froze up. He experienced fear for the first time in a while and Mifune told his student that Ryunosuke was there for the taking. He knew Ryuonuske's confidence had been shattered and that his student would stand a great chance against him.

  • Old School Hip Hop + Old B&W action movies = WIN

  • @TezukaKohei Thanks.

  • The Sword of Doom is a brilliant film and you've made an excellent little montage / music video to celebrate it. Good work!

  • @Hereticked Thanks a lot.

  • I enjoyed watching this movie.Tatsuya Nakadai and Toshiro Mifune were excellent in this movie.

  • for those of you who enjoyed the combination of hip hiop and kendo i strongly recommend an anime series called Samurai Champloo.

Its a perfect blend of hip hop, japanese swordplay and beautiful drawn.

  • Pure visual poetry written with blood.

Love this movie, love Nakadai san. The combination of his stunning beauty and striking cruelty makes me tremble. The film is truly awe-inspiring. 9/10 (minus one point just because the end is abrupted and there's no sequel that was planned but never really filmed).

  • @memmori1 Nakadai was magnetic in this movie and yeah I agree the ending was very disappointing and anti-climatic.

  • @balistik94 Unfortunately, it was not surely known at the time of the release of the 1st film that there'll be no Pt.2 and 3. Therefore they were unable to remake the ending to make it more satisfactory. I hope there's somewhere the additional ending or bonus materials...

  • I like Mifune too, but I'm here for Nakadai, which IMO, was equally as impressive.

  • @cynderacid Nakadai was incredible in this movie. The perfect psycho killer.

  • hey this one time i praying at a like monument thing and this guy came from nowhere and like totally killed me....then i was like now my grand daughter can live freely....so it wasnt so bad after all....yay....

  • @seduction54 Haha you sumed up the entire movie.

  • Good lord! Toshiro Mifune was the guy in the sedan!? I bought this movie before I realized how amazing he is.

  • @theonlyred4 The most charismatic actor of all time IMO.

  • @balistik94 With more range than most modern actors. Naive detective, crazy bandit, stubborn swordsman, indifferent bad ass, hard-boiled sensei, and many more. It's so stupid how people think someone like Johnny Depp is a great actor when all of his characters are almost identical.

  • @theonlyred4 I happen to like Depp and I think he has range but not on Mifune's level. Brando is the only one who deserves to be mentioned alongside Mifune.

  • @godai631 I don't know but I can send you download links.

  • Normally I dont like video edits like this one, but this is fantastic.

    Excellent selection of material.

  • Thanks a lot.

  • wow you have a unqiue editing style. No where compared to mine. I love how you got wu-Tang as the track song. Yo since you made a vid of my favorite samurai movie, much props.

  • Thank you very much.

  • i discovered this a year ago and it never gets old.

  • Thanx glad to know you still enjoy it.

  • Wu Tang seems to fit well with Chambara.

  • I love this vid also. I'm a huge fan of all things samurai... Wu-Tang's music couldn't be more perfect. I only remember seeing the beginning of this film... but you've inspired me to go search for it! Brilliantly edited stuff man!

  • /sign what Ryu said

  • Without a doubt The Best homage Ive seen.

You edited most scenes nicely to the (all famous) Instrumental.

    As some said: Nice timing.

Personally, I wanted to see Toshiro's opening in it as well (first stroke out of the carriage)

but the practice battle with his student

(0:19/0:22) wich you dont see often, was a nice substitute.

    5/5

  • Thanx a lot. Mifune was incredible in this movie. The fightscene in the snow is probably the best on screen swordfight ever in my opinion.

  • very nice!!!

  • Thank you.

  • Well I watched both movies and I like them. I really like how you placed into contrast the two views of how the sword should be used. I agree with the view point of Holy Sword, but that's because I'm a goody two shoes. Heh. This is some piece of work and I'll enjoy watching these. Keep up the good work.

    Peace.

  • Thank you very much. Actually the message behind Evil Sword is good too. You should try to be a better person (study the soul) and not just rely on your abilities if you don't wanna become obsessed or self-complacent or use your abilities for wrong reasons (evil).

The epic tone of Holy Sword suits my personality but deep down there is a beast that thrives on violence. I believe we all have this darker side of our personalites that's why I think these two vids complete each other.

    Thanx again.

  • it is especially important to pay attention to the evil side of the sword/soul. anyone that believes that they are safe from negative influences is naive and lacking in zanshin. we all have an evil side to a degree. it is the choice to be aware and rise above the ignorance ,greed and laziness of the evil side that is the good in the good sword/soul.

  • I agree and it is a daily struggle to control yourself and not let anger, violence, selfishness and obsession take over.

  • daily struggle is right on. i'm just a country boy living in NYC and although i'm much more streetwise than one might expect, i find it hard to resist the pull of becoming one of the horde of people that have given up on respecting their fellow human beings. i see the bad side of people and wish that i could wave my hand and make it disappear. that is a pipe dream. anger is like water leaking from a barrel. i have to keep mopping or things will be ruined.

  • This is great. I would love a download link!

  • Your timing is gorgeous. The choice of music is surprising in that it works so well. Fabulous, Hun. *mwah* XXXx

  • Thank you Friv!! Means a lot coming from you.

  • Wu-Tang mixed in with anything gets my attention! Your editing here really meshes so well with the striking black and white images here - the flashes of light between blade strikes focuses your eye on the scenes in such a dynamic way - I couldn't take my eyes off the screen ;-)

  • Thanx a bunch JL. You know I appreciate it.

  • Fantastic, you're relly giving us something different here Bill & I like it a lot, its surprising how well those scenes blended in with the music considering how old this movie looks, lol. But everything was great, I always say this but you just keep on getting better. Go Bill, lol. Oh yeah, lovin' the little "Balistik" logo in the bottom corner of the screen, nice ;)

  • Thanx a lot Jojo! I told you I wanted to try something different so here it is. LMAO at "Go Bill". I thought people would barely see the logo so thanx for noticing it. Now I can't wait for your next vid!

  • This edit conveys the "art" in the martial arts! Great shot choice and though violent your work flows making the piece strangely poetic and hypnotic great work!

  • Thank you very much Arshad. Can't wait for "Wandering Fist"!

  • !!!Old School!!! Yeah! The thing I like most about this video is how you changed the flow in some parts, between erratic and smooth. The cuts are precise. I see some new stuff in there. You're trying new things, that's what it's all about. *Excellent* work man. You're gettin' too good too damn fast, B...you trying to leave me behind or sumthin? what's goin' on man? "The Sword Of Doom", I must be slippin' I've never heard of this movie.

  • Thanx a lot Cas'! Yeah i tried new stuff in that vid. The flow might seem a little chaotic cause i just edited down what i had in my sick mind lol. Leave you behind? Haha you must be kiddin cause you're light years ahead of me man.

  • Good job on this Bill, I wanna see this movie now.

  • Thanx Kervin
