  • i think her version of Amazing Grace had 25 moments that could easily be considered her best runs too! shes da queen

  • Glory halleluuu! Yas!

    Amazing video *replays*

  • She's the greatest singer and she is incredible at riffing and melismatic phrases period! Her riffs in the sond octave are out of this world!

  • Im shocked Can't Turn You Loose, A Deeper Love, Mary Goes Around, He'll Come Along, or anything from the Amazing Grace, and Fillmore West wasn't on here these are good though hope to see more Aretha vids on here great vid and thanks for the share

  • Wow. Aretha makes me feel special! I love you Aretha.

  • What can anybody say about this woman that is not stupidly obvious already? There is no other singer/vocalist that matches Queen Ree's degree of musical creativity/genius and vocal greatness. Aretha's vocal calibre is something that very few individuals in music history have any business being in. All I can say is that Aretha is and will forever be in a league of her own musically, she is the definition of musical understanding and vocal greatness. It helps that this video is brilliant, too.

  • Why am I only just watching this? :(

  • she sounded different in 2000 onwards.

  • sublime!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing Video.:))) Great work.:)

  • amazing <3 #s 22, 15, 13, 12, 10, 5, and 3 but they're all great!

  • To me, Aretha's run has the most character of any singer. All of them are so unique.

  • Mariah herself said that if you think your influenced by her, Whitney, or any remotely Rnb or Soul, you're indirectly influenced by Aretha...

  • 4:15 sounds like whitney a little no? this video is amazing! :D

  • @iiAmitx3 4:15 actually is Whitney. It was a Whitney and Aretha Duet!! you can look up the full song.

  • @MCLAMB4LIFE1 ohhh LMAO it seemed unnatural!

  • Oh yeah! This video reminds me why Soul Music is my favorite kind of music!

    Aretha foreveeeer!

And thanks for giving the name of the songs @BZBlaner

  • @RomuloVideos2 You're welcome :) I decided to put the song names up because I get lazy and don't reply to people LOL.

  • Such a legend, she's everything to my ears, extraordinary technique in every point. Fantastic singer, what a great job in all your videos.

  • I love how a lot of her runs end in her rich power register. So goegeous. Caught myself singing along with her

  • "Listen at her!"

There is no other singer that I can think of (besides Ella F.)who does so much while still maintaining such authenticity. You never get the sense that she's showing off while performing her magnificent vocal feats, fried in DEEP soul; no, she's just doing the best she can to sing that song with all of HERSELF, all of her GENIUS. What a great gift she's shared with us, I'm so thankful for her. Awesome vid!

  • the queen of soul people :) my favorite is jump to it great video btw

  • @BZBlaner No problem :)

  • What accuracy, what musicality, what mastery this woman shows when singing. It's incredible.

    Amazing job as usual :)

  • she is just incredible!!

  • Very Nice B....

  • @ARETHAVIDEOS Thanks ^_^

  • 4:27, 4:36 and 5:57 reminds me of mc runs in joy to the world 94, ATYNAF scatting and VOL run she did in the intro... :)

  • @kelvinpyaeko There is so much fusion of Aretha in Mariah (much more than Minnie in fact). You can just tell by that run at 5:57, which is bona fide Vision of Love!

  • @BZBlaner so true. one can even mistake and think it's the early mariah timbre at 4:27 and 5:57. there are just so many similarities vocal styling and execution wise between the two. it's crazy

  • @BZBlaner thank god mariah is honest enough to respect the legends that came before her! :) and i think minnie influenced mariah only with accessing the whistle register and less with singing style. and i think mariah took her whistles to a more creative place rather than i think ALL the others which are using whistles to "show off". mariah truly uses the whistles as an instrument :)

  • @iiAmitx3 Indeed, Mariah is the most musical and creative with her whistle tones. Thanks for watching :)

  • So much SOUL...its just a natural feeling for music that she has that makes her runs and riffs so good.

  • 2:53 and 3:52 are killers. my favs from the vid

  • can definitely hear nippy and mimi little inflections. she definitely influenced all the other women with her use of vocal runs. great collection

  • @kelvinpyaeko Yasssss, Mimi and Nippy were schooled in the House of Ree.

  • @kelvinpyaeko and she influnced like every everybody cause all the mini-me's mariah and whitney have are after all influenced by aretha whether they know it or not. XD

  • @iiAmitx3 definitely! mc said it best in one interview about it. something like 'whoever is influenced by me or whitney is indirectly influenced by aretha' ..i don't remember exactly, though :)

  • @kelvinpyaeko yea that's where i heard it (you got me XD) but i don't remember either.

  • NICE! She definately is the craftmaker with runs and riffs. They just flow so well with the music, its amazing. So much soul to them its crazy.

  • Awesome :) Loved it, vocal runs are one of my favorite parts of vocalists.. Arethas are just on another level though. Great choices as well for you're top 25!

  • Ladies and Gentlemen I introduce gthe queen of soul. This woman is the pinnacle of musical and vocal greatness. Bzblaner you did it again. great vid

  • Fantastic video! Those runs were INSANE! Only Beyonce, Mariah, Whitney and a few others can compare to her agility

  • @mAnNyElLaTiNo33 It's not really the agility that impresses me about Aretha, though that's top-notch as well. As BZBlaner and I state, it's the extreme level of musicianship and creativity that separates Aretha from other vocalists during her heyday.

  • @TheZenomeProject Oh I know that believe me, but since this video focused moreso on her agility I only talked about that one aspect of her voice :)

  • @mAnNyElLaTiNo33 Thanks for checking :)

  • This is video is another masterpiece, as I usually expect from you LOL. Aretha is the original and first queen of the vocal run, and this video was the perfect tribute to her mastery of the technique. What's great about her runs is that like Mariah, Aretha's use of riffs and runs always fitted the structure of the music.

  • @TheZenomeProject With Aretha, you never get a sense that she's dragging the vocal run. She sings them like they are STITCHED to the vocal line in the most musical manner. No other singer comes close to her in both melismatic creativity and execution.

  • I liked her lower register runs the best.
