Christmas in Saigon Vietnam

LOL! the traffic was so lazy back in those years:I was in saigon in 1992 in the beginning of the"scooters era" which everyone wanted motorcicles instead of bicicles. At that time they had dirty leaded gasoline and none traffic regulation on emission, signals exc.. If you look those motorcicles in the video, they are all honda dream with noisy and smelly exhaust, yuck! I cannot sleep at night in the hotel because of the 4 stroke noise of scooters, more like massive farts: PRLLLL...ahahah!

Actually there are many Catholics there !

It's a little remnant from the French occupation which more or less is still present in the South of Vietnam. (that and the great French long breads)

Also the universal rule applies : any excuse for a party is a good one.

What's the big deal? Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City, it's still an awesomely cool city to live, people are nice and laid back, that's all what matter. Don't get all political because you know VNmese are the worst at it, they are more like a culture/ business oriented society.

Saigon was the capital of the South Vietnam. When the North took over, they renamed it Ho Chi Minh City. Some people are still a little sensitive about it.

I was in Vietam last christmas, i think there was a lot more decorations in D1, even in other districts there was a lot, I lived in Tan Binh and they has amazing lights everywhere. Nice Vid

funny how the government changed the name from saigon to "hcm city" but when i went back there, last summer, summer of 2007. Most people, im talking about the majority of the people of vn still call it SAIGON, even the northern people, the central, and mainly the southern people. Lol...look at the little girl in pink dress walking in the middle of traffic. That's how I used to do just to cross the street...wow, that bring back so much memory. All you need to do is look out for 3 wheels and up vehicle. The bycicle and other two wheels vehicle, they avoid you.
