Thank the Lord in all your pics there's no sight of the public toilets by Barclays. Twice nature has called and got the better of my bladder, and twice there's been dodgy geezers in there who look willing to take a look at your old fella.....and i don't mean your dad! It's the one place where hygiene goes out the window and sticking round to wash your hands isn't an option.
An expert bit of stalking round the old place & lest we forget such places on your pics such as Kwik Save & Chapmans as well as the demolition of the top part of Avenue Road including the loss of the Spite House... all in the name of progress. (OK.. so a Wilko's will be useful) Better get your camera primed if the plans go through for the new library. (A glass fronted building in staggering distance of various pubs after closing time on a Saturday...seems a good idea!)
it seems old but its still in tact just like any english estate its like in the middle between posh and scruffy just normal atleast it isnt like East london, Manchester, Liverpool or where I live Teeside or middlesbrough as most people know it
watching this video almost made me cry i grew up in blackheath althought i don't live there anymore it's a dirty run down little town but it's home to me & i love it thanks
its not dirty or run-down! I also used to live there and wish I could move back. Theres too much traffic nowadays - much more than the roadlayout/designed was meant for.
First it was an empty supermarket carpark then it was Rowley Regis Garage! Did you go back in time? Mind you I wish I could, I liked things the way they were. The recent alterations have created a busy towncentre without the proper infrastructure and nowhere to park at peak times. I miss the old Blackheath
