  • can someone tell me the name of the background music??

  • this game is hard lol i cant get past the level where your in the Sand Crawler...i think the 3rd level lol i fail

  • @KingOfKingz819 join the club my friend

  • This game was hard as hell I allways lost at the Bar in the desert planet.17 now had the game cuz of my dad.

  • god i always got to the last level and never figured out how to use your proton torpedo...so i kept playing the last level over n over again...never beat this game......it was fun though

  • I talked to this game's composer Paul Webb and he said that for this game he actually got the original handwritten music from John Williams!

  • i remember playing this when i was like 7, im fourteen now, and how hard it was. its VERY nostalgic for me

  • When Star Wars games didn't suck ass.

I always found weird how in some old games in the demo play in the intros the character behaved as if it was controlled by a very bad AI moving in a nonsensical pattern. I suppose it was programed and not recorded from real gameplay.

  • Good, though I prefer the PC version.

  • IT BRING ME IN A BETTER TIME ....

  • Was it just me, or was this game super hard? Cause I can't tell if it was because I was so young or the game was just made hard. Although I LOVE this game, I must have chucked the controller at this game like 50 times...

  • @SteveX1991 The game was hard for me as well. I personally never beat it and only saw it beat in person once.

  • The music was so epic for the time, and the trench fight in the final level made the trench fight in Star Wars Rogue Squadron II look like a walk in the park...well actually it was considering that the trench fight in this game was like a workout for your thumb as compared to in Rogue Squadron II you just hold A and dodge shit.

  • its funny how horrifically bad the title screen example players are

  • well, i don't know how to save in this game. i heard about a password system to get to levels you've already played... but there ARE NO KEYWORDS in my game. (yes, it's exactly this game). can someone please give me a hint? it's so boring to play the first stage over and over again....

  • @usnbernd

Look up the debug mode code for the snes. Use this to "save" your progress by starting on the level you left off at. You can also change your number of lives, checkpoint for a particular stage, and your current weapon.

  • By far one of the greatest movie games ever

  • Its out in the UK for Wii now

  • I believe this game was my first step into re-entering the world of Star Wars in the '90s. The fold-out Lucasarts catalogue that came with it was equally awesome.

  • 18 August 2009 PAL regions SSW Wii VC

i'm waiting for Super Empire Strikes Back

  • nice video 5 stars i love this game i love star wars also

  • PAL regions missed out on getting SSW on the Wii VC

  • SSW released today on VC :D

  • Nearly 6 minutes....of title screen footage. -_-

  • Another one of my videos ending up in Go Nintendo. Cool! v ^.^

  • Well, Damn. It turns out Super Star Wars got released on Wii Virtual Console Today. And apparently, the rest of the SSW trilogy is supposed to come in the next couple of weeks.

  • This and the seuqel were epic gaming experiences for me. I loved the games. I never got the Return of the Jedi one, I felt like the games were getting a little repetitive (plus that was my least favorite movie in the series) but I wish I did. I still have the first two. Empire is one of the best action platformers I have ever played.

  • lol! i have this game and can't even do da first level!

  • The greatest star wars appeared on the snes, the latest offerings were no good, super star wars is truely the best.

Star wars arcade on 32x was quite amazing, it was well made.

  • i loved this game so much, anyone know if there was ever a VC realease?

  • Do you live in the US or the UK?

I'm not sure if PAL region is going to get it, but the US just got it a couple of days ago.

  • I never got the cheats to work can anyone help me?

  • Ah, the sweet memories of playing this back in the day. Thanks for posting!

  • This game is honestly a fucknig amazing game! It has like more than one gameplay sequence:

    Side screen

    Racing type

    Arcade Shooter

...plus the story line fits so well with the movie with a bunch of added features.

    5/5

  • WOW ! This game is true amazing and the sound is SUPERB !! Very nice video 6 stars !!

  • I still have this game, IT ROCKS!!!

  • I played the hell out of this game but looking back I have a couple complaints. Lightsaber combat sucked compared to the other 2 games, and the sound of the plasma rifle was really annoying. Other than that, this game is PERFECT.

  • snes is eines der besteb

  • des spiel is so geil hammer

  • This game was made of WIN.

    Good old days.

They need to put these games on the VC for people wh own the Wii.

  • beat this shitty game today all i got was a congratulations..i wanted a fucking cookie!

  • I remember the SNES days god those were fun. They brought the true meaning to video games with many games that no matter how many times you beaten it it never got boring. Too bad some games nowadays don't have that kind of gameplay anymore.

  • Ordering SNES today :)

    For games like this

  • I played this game when I was a kid (1997-1998). There's a part at the end of the 4th level (Inside Sandcrawler, 1:54) that was really difficult.

    Happy days, good memories.

  • Was it near the end where you reach to the lava area just before the boss?

  • Yes, the lava area. I had to use a secret code to finish.

  • I got stuck at that part too but after a number of tries the game with let you touch the lava for atleast a second so you can jump on the platform. Though I was kinda pounding the a button to make the jump lol.

  • snes is the best

  • screw u haxOrboi

  • the SNES is still my favorite console

    i mean you got

    Super Metroid

    F-Zero

Indiana Jones and the great adventures

    Super mario world

Legend of zelda: a link to the past

and of course the Super Star Wars Tilogy

  • Super Metroid and A link to the past could keep me occupied indefinitely! they were so awesome

  • aww man i miss these times, all the snes games bring back loads of happy memories when i was a kid

  • I have the entire trilogy. I just have to get a new power adapter for my SNES and I can play these games again. Fortunately, there are a few places in my town that sell that kind of stuff.

  • hax0rboi is an asshole. I remember playing Super Star Wars. God i wish they would release it like on Xbox Live Arcade.

  • Yea, graphics arent everything! Youre like, 12 or something?

  • you suck this is one of the best SW games ever made.

  • truly one of the best SNES games. a true gem

  • Dude. You can't play worth a damn.

    Or edit

  • seriusly shit as video

  • WTF r u talking about its only a demo!

  • one of my favorite games back in the day.. especially the last levels where you fly around blowing stuff up

  • "You didnt even need to be a Star Wars fan (but then again, who isn't?) to enjoy this."

Haha! I hate Star Wars:) But I did like this game. One of the best on SNES.

  • this is a virtual console must have/ did nintendo realese it yet

  • Damn shame I never got to play Super Star Wars. I remember it only vaguely.

  • I still pull this game out and my best time to complete the game is 44 minutes Empire best time 1 hour 39 minutes and jedi a bit over two hours. Greatest Star Wars games as they kinda follow the films.

  • Oh man, years ago my buddy and I would stay up all night till 5 in the morning eating junk food, empty 3 liter coke bottles laying everywhere and of course, playing this game, lol

  • playing with eachothers balls

  • Huh?

  • He's just jealous.

  • You stupid faggot, STFU. Brainless ass.

  • haha nice one!

  • This was hellishly hard and fun game. Back in 1993 my roommate spent the entire spring break beating the game on the "Brave" skill setting. He is still a legend till this day for that accomplishment.

  • I still have this game !!! I've played so much this game when I was young . And seriously , this game is the last Star Wars game I played who I really enjoyed it. And I've played a lot.

  • You've got that right, this was probably one of the best SW games of all time. And there's been a lot of them!

  • The first of many for my SNES. If only I still had it...

  • I use to have this game, it was cool.

  • All of the SNES games were godly.

  • The CPU sucks at that game

  • You said it.

  • One of my all-time favs!

  • the music is hately

  • I had this game as a kid, and I only managed to beat it once. There's this part at the end of the Sandcrawler where you have to make these impossible lava jumps while fighting a boss. The one time I beat it was essentially a fluke, but once I did I was able to beat the rest of the game with pretty much no trouble. It is a pretty good game, minus that one part. It's sorta like Sonic 3 with that barrel in Carnival Night Zone. . .

  • There was a PC version in the making however it got cancelled/shelved due to management changes inside Lucas Arts

  • The PC version was completed, it was never released. It was basically just this game with a few minor changes.

  • i remember buying this game for X-mas for $29.99! still got the case and all inserts!! i love this game!

  • yo sigo jugando con mi snes

  • i got this game when i was like five years old, and i loved it more than everything

  • the fraking sand crawler part pisses me off i could get it as a kid but seriously pissed me off

  • I could never beat that shit.

  • can anyone post a Game over screen to this game?

  • pause at 00:01

  • why

  • this game was fuckin insanely dificult lol

  • When I was writing that I thought to myselft there was a 90% chance you were gonna respond with a "why don't you"

    -.-

  • haha .. i still remember when i played dis game when i wuz little ,, i almost made it through the whole game though .. it wuz hard as fuck !!

  • yea me too haha still didn't beat it!!!

  • i cheated a bit....at the end to blow up the death star i just kept pausing it then shooting...took me a while but i had it.....im 40 in december

  • Why don't you like...um..play the game, yeah, that would be good....yep, yeah.

  • You play real bad my man!

  • So freakin' sweet! I loved this game so much!!!

Its just a pity empire strikes back was so unforgivingly hard...

  • I found this game incredibly hard... I still loved it though

  • Hi how are you?

  • I like the game too. I had a hard time sliding through those laser lights in one level...

  • Fuck that game its way to hard!

  • Oh man I remember playing this game as a kid back in '97 or so. I loved it! This video brings back so many memories. The aura of Star Wars was different back then... it wasn't tainted by all the new stuff. Thanks for the upload!!

  • Tainted is right! Curse you Lucas!!!

  • Lol that robot in 4:27 looks so damn familiar to the one from Robocop XD.

  • I remember this game. my brother's old friend use to have this.

  • Great Game, I happened to buy this great game brand new for 5 dollars at a local game store in 1998.

  • In the original SNES version of this game... you just had to rub the controller on your leg to enter debug mode... I never found the real way to do the code other than rubbing the controller on something!!

    Still an incredible fun game...
