Awesome song. Just started with reason. Tried to record bass through my g2.1u, reason sees the input sound but somehow there's no output and it seems to record nothing. Can anyone think of a reason for that?
can you give me the sesion please bro i want to learn to do that too , miguelrodriguezhimself@hotmail.com if you want look my videos too im guitar player cya and i hope you answer
@miguell2106 Hi Miguell. Thank for watching. The original files I keep for myself, but there are some free tutorials on my website that explain some techniques.
Thanks for watching alexmcgrotty. This one's a refill. I also made some freeware patches from the standard Reason guitars that are downloadable for my website. Used them in a couple of my later tracks.
@tyberium well respect from a fellow musician, i love this tune. just had a look on your site - how do i use them/where do i put them? i just started using reason yesterday.
@ungert45 Hahah..lol..Thanks Ung. Good to hear you like it. I just used a very good Sonic Reality guitar patch I picked up. It's my first track back in 2008. Made 10 more tracks up to now. Hope you like those too. Let me know if I progressed. It's much appreciated.
@zeetek007 Thanks, This song has some refills in it, I got off of Ebay. I'm also making my own patches, from instruments that come standard with Reason. You can download these from my website.
@tyberium Cool, I just upgraded from Reason 4 to 5 and got a Piano refill. I love the Steinway Grand D sound. I might get more refills from your website.
Awesome for someone who's never played guitar. Nice rythm and beat... You have a real sense for music for putting together something so beautiful to the ears.
might need to brush up on the music theory brah. the first four chords of this piece are clearly Dm, Bb, F, C, while the melody on top is "A, Bb, A, G"... but those are not the chords. this chord progression is the same as Gandalf's, although in a different key.
@mrbouncelol What can I say..I suck at theory. As I come to think of it: I'm shocked that I got my melody (A, Bb, A, G) cribbled down right in my reply :)
Only had basic music theory it in highschool, so I make mine by heart.
@praterzen you have to record the guitar with another program, like cubase etc or download some sort of free wave editor and use the recordings as a sample through NNXT. then add eqs compression etc. thats how i do it anyway :)
@tyberium I think the best thing about Reason is some of the live recorded instrument samples, some of the the piano samples on the NN-XT are studio quality. Also it's clever and musical the way you have combined the higher and lower octave guitars inter-changing the same riff, example at 2:11, that's what you get when you can play as well as produce.
@0ua8 I can only humbly bow to your kind words. The NN-XT stuff out there is great, indeed. There's lots of it out there, if you know what to look for. I hope you like my latest songs as well. Have a look if you can spare the time.
The guitar is fantastic. As a drummer, I have to say I like the heavy bass drum focus. But I don't think the drums go with the rest of the song (a bit too much). Anyhow, enough of my knit picking. The harmony and melody and general mood of the song are FANTASTIC!
Is this a built-in existing guitar or something custom? Reason isn't really something that has much in the choice of electric/rock/metal guitars. This was pretty sweet!
@jabcreations Thanks man, The guitars are from a Sonic Reality pack called 'Triple Guitars'. Check out my newest too (guitar music 4). I think the guitar patches in that one are pretty decent too.
it sounds like bloc party with a sick guitarist. alright song but its a bit boring tbh sorry but great for your fist song jus not my thing. well done:)
hey, i love it although Im more into slow tunes! How did you set those drum beats along all duration of song? when I try to set drums, it either play it once or redrum-drum neverending beats which I cant stop while recording tune. I cannot learn those drums lol I still keep trying though. Anyways Im impressed with your stuff, congrats!
Hi Basia, This was done realy old school. Not using redrum. Just using nnxt samples and actually sequencing them one by one..Gives a lot of freedom, but takes a while, though. Thanks for the comment!
Awesome job! Which Paul Gilbert song(s) inspired you for the riff?? Just wondering, because the first song I thought of when I heard this was ''Craig Armstrong - Escape'' =)
Wow this song is amazing i really like it!! Good job... I have reason 4 now too and i start getting into it i am a bginner. Do you create the songs just with the dadas of Reason or are you playing the guitar?

Hi DW..Good ear!. I DID actualy quanized it :) . Please see if you like my later work better, as I did more blending there and didn't cut sustains anymore. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
It sounds like you used Redrum for the kick drum. One cool trick: on the quick "double kick" parts (6 & 7 on the Redrum sequencer) make 6 hard and 7 medium on the dynamics selector. Takes away the robot feel a little. BUT, this was June 10, 2008... you have probably got it down now.
this is cool man i like it, but being a guitarist and a producer myself i find it blasphemous that you didn't track the guitars your self or get help from a friend who plays guitar :(
You mean me actualy playing it live and recording it (with Reason Record)? I wish I could, Banana. Keyboard and sequencing is the only way for me, as I can't actually play guitar :&
hey man can u help me out i'm trying to make a guitar riff for one of my songs but i have no clue what to use what did you use for ur sick guitar sound?
Hi Mr.Pie. You can start with the standard banks reason has to offer. For my Guitar Music 2 I just used the standard "GT bottleneck w chords". I used some modules to make it sound better. You can also get some commercial ones from Ebay, like I used in this song.
Not true.. :p If it is a refill - then the all stuff you need to know is how to create an instrument and either drum cubes or play and record. He's drums sucks.. Common mistake in first creations to all reason 4 users.. Also mastering aint bright.. So - if you have enough good musical basics and you aint a retard - you can do this if trying hard.

Hi there im workin on reason 4, actually im a guitarist and im a bit disapointed there is no audio recording possibility in this soft ware.. i have to record in sound forge then play it as a sample, that work well but its not the production feelin that im lookin for. More, if i put the reason's rendered track in sound forge and play guitar over i have absolutely no mastering option anymore.. Do you have any advices?
hi, tnakhs for the tips, but i can only find "beta version" on torrent website etc.. Plus, it will be the same thing than in soundforge isnt it? or can i open a whole reason project in record?
@ritonnade i don't now nothing about soundforge and yes, u can open a whole reason project in record. There's only beta version, the real version can't be cracked yet..
Awesome song. Just started with reason. Tried to record bass through my g2.1u, reason sees the input sound but somehow there's no output and it seems to record nothing. Can anyone think of a reason for that?

Thanks Labb. This depends on the sample as is. Short samples can be bounced or repeated in the advanced sampler though to make them sound longer.

hey man , im lookin 4 help here.I just got reason 4 and wld lov to plug my electric guitar for my prods, anyone got a tip 4 me?? thx

I do not think this is possible. You can however record your guitar with a sampling program and replay it in Reason. Direct input is midi based only.

@ritonnade you need "Record" software! its the best deal ever! i love it! take it from the internet, or.. buy it :)

hi, tnakhs for the tips, but i can only find "beta version" on torrent website etc.. Plus, it will be the same thing than in soundforge isnt it? or can i open a whole reason project in record?
ritonnade 2 years ago
@ritonnade i don't now nothing about soundforge and yes, u can open a whole reason project in record. There's only beta version, the real version can't be cracked yet..
