  • @SuicideServer :) . Looking at your vid i guess i can say- graag gedaan! proost! ga alle vids bekijken, spannend..

  • Very nice maan, good to see folks using gear like this and doing something creative and different with it.. rather than using presets all da time. Cool...

  • @Robciante Definitely not even close to dubstep. This is more like some early 80's breakdancing shit.

  • very sweet

  • this more like dubstep

  • @Robciante nah

  • Yeah, maybe it's not electro house but it's pretty sure electronic music (electro) ;)

  • @MrNicecar

Thats exactly the label i would use, plain elector. At least this is how i remember electro from the 90ties ;) Anyway what is it with that track that everyone wants to put a label on it ?

    Cheers

  • one question. why label it Electro when this is clearly not anywhere near electro

  • Comment removed

  • @laydeelovaa Is this gas powered?

  • @CrAzYcArNiE08 electro is a type of music.

  • @laydeelovaa Also Dark Electro and Electro-industrial has little to do with electro(electro-funk, 70ies), but we stil use these labels to describe their sound and influence.

  • @laydeelovaa Are you talking about "electro house"?? Because if you are there is absolutely nothing electro about "electro house". If you want to know what electro is look up Jackal & Hyde, Debonaire, Exzakt, Dynamix II.

  • sounds like one of the songs off the resident evil soundtrack

  • Nice one

  • Rude 66 style, check out some djax up beats records from the late 90's, same spirit, nice sound man .

  • your equipment is hardcore

  • Year man, cool stuff, keep on like that

  • sounds like music to a scary movie

  • this makes me want to kidnap fat girls and make a coat out of their skin in my basement

  • this is awesome!

  • sick

  • New GENRE of DUBSTEP thats what i call it

Great how you combine elektro sounds with a dubstep beat

  • @johanmuylle

check rude 66 tracks from the late 90's ,exactly same atmosphere, It was called techno with an electro beat at the time.

seems that names changes but music stay the same.

    ; )

  • After seeing this vid for the first time, I suddenly remembered the song--in vivid detail--in the middle of the night. I was totally creeped out . . . Makes you feel like you're being stalked!

Nonetheless, that was GREAT!! Love the drums (sounds like a TR-808); I think it's those bells and that menacing lead that make my spine tingle.

Congradulations, man! You've proven you can be as creepy (but still great) as Future Sound of London!

  • @FacelessCrackpot20

Thanks a lot for your kind works, it really means a lot to me.

    Cheers

  • nice

  • Why do you look like youre trying to be secretive with every move? Just do it. No need to act.

  • This is awesome dude :D jean michel jarre stile ! This is what i call music :P

  • @locmcdog

    Thanks a lot dude :)

  • Mp3?

  • nice bass drop at 315

  • name of genre??

  • good question ;)

  • @SuicideServer industrial?

  • @kobysk8 Sounds almost like dubstep-ish.

  • @kobysk8 I'd call it Minimal Electro

  • why doesn't roland make a computer plug in series for computers? something like a native instruments package.

I love roland hardware but I would like the option of having computer plugins.

  • good point, but i think Roland lost it completely, dont think we will see something good and usefull anymore :(

  • EDIROL makes plugins, and edirol is roland's. Check it out.

  • Dont mean to sound dumb...but does it actually come with all those beats when you bought it??

  • Hey Adam,

you dont sound dumb, you are actually right. There are lots of preset patterns but trust me, you dont wanna use them ;) they are so cheasy its disgusting. So these were done by myself all the way.

    cheers

  • I really like the beat at 1:22.

  • Geiles stück

  • besten Dank :)

    Cheers

  • hey

    SuicideServer,

  • Hey kirk,

just make sure you have a good audio quality, thats the most important imho. I aways use quicktime to record video with audio and then export it with h.264. Looking forward to your video bro .

    Cheers

  • all you got is a 3 note "dark lead" and Cliche beats man. throw more creativity on that bitch

  • You are acutally right there, but to be honest i love it minimal and since im german im lacking things like funk or creativity ;) Cheers Bro

  • pretty sick sounding! I think i'll have to snag one of those.

  • nasty groove man....yuck....lol keep it up bro ..i do talk box man let;s kick some ideas...check me videos ...peace

  • The problem with the 808 is that you can no program it live like you can with an Electribe. everything has to be pre-recorded. I found the motorized faders to be useless, I want knobs. The only Roland MC's that I would ever use would be the MC-202 or the MC-909. Do yourself a favor and buy an Electribe EMX.

  • Hey Duke,

yep its a shame that the sequencer cant be played life, but i have to admit i had a lot of fun with the 808 while i had it. I also had an electribe mx but i really prefered the drumkits of the 808 as they sounded way better and more punchy as the ones from the electribe. After all i moved on to Maschine and i am finally really happy with my setup ;)

    Cheers

  • It actually has the Fantom engine which is cool. I just could not program it. I own maschine now as well. Love it!

I wrote a long letter to Roland about the MC808 and what I thought was wrong with it. It really is to bad that you can not program live with it.

  • maby you have no idea what your talking about !

nothing has to be pre-recorded you can recorded live on the fly

Do yourself a favor do your homework

    GRtzzz Poerik

  • As you can see in the video everything is pre-sequenced. you can not do pattern sequencing on the fly, in play mode without this being in record mode. Motorized faders?? WHY! I would have bout this if you could sequence easily live, if it was not cheap plastic, and if it did not have motorized fader. Oh, and if it did not have the letters MC in front of 808. Do you have a video of someone doing live pattern sequencing like an electribe? I have spoke to Roland about this and they said no.

  • The best music is made live - and my wonderful Master is an über pro when it comes to livesets!!!

You just might be the nr 1 top live performer in the world :))))

I am not sure cuz i haven't seen all the artists in the world perform live :D But - judging from listening to your sets - you are REALLY hard to beat ;)

You are the one who beats the hardest!

And that is something we know that a certain someone is extremely fond of :D ;)))

    Much Love

(and a bit acid too) From Mistress Q

  • Hahaha i just stood up and again you made me smile before i even had my coffee ;)

  • =))))

I am happy to hear that =)))

You deserve to feel good every day =)

    XXX

    L

  • Hihihi!!!!! I am very much like you when it comes to that :D If i make some really earbleeding sound and have decided that i am gonna tweak it until it's perfect - NOTHING can interrupt me :D I don't stop til' it sound just as I want it to sound - even if it sounded like a broken old radio from the beginning :D But also I think it's great to trash up the traxx a bit with some noize - i hate music that is made out of one single template - but they just change the sounds & then call it a track

  • strange and cool...

  • fucking awesome

  • great track ! :) Congratulations

  • great trakz

  • everybody should know by now the internal drumsets on the grooveboxes aren't all that fancy. i took myself a Korg rmk drummachine hooked it up and i can now make some decent beats

  • nice track fella, reminds me of polygon window era afx. good stuff!

  • for the 808 some of the samples ur using sound likes shit (no offense) drum track is lacking, synth composition sounds bangen

  • Hey Hennie,

thanks for this honest words. The 808 sounds are just from the internal drumkits. I did this jam 1 week after i had the 808 ;)

    Cheers

  • ne 5 fürs kämpen

    deAD

  • and how are the sounds of the 201 recorded on your pc? as a wave sound, or is it possible to record it as midi notes with your 201 connected to your pc?

  • Ey man, i still wanna buy the sh 201. Im gonna try it out soon at a store. Can you tweak this synthesizer much? Can you create a bassline with it? Or on the other hand a high-spacy-sound?

    Greetz from holland.

  • mc 808 or 909?! just can't decide. could buy an additional synth with the 808 due to the spare cash, just not sure!

  • Hey lamond,

this pretty much depends on what you wanna do. I for now would go with the mc-808 and the mopho but the 909 is definitly also one nice box. The interface on the 909 and the fx are better but the 808 fader are also pretty smooth. In the end it depends on your skillz so you cant go wrong with both of them.

    Cheers

  • Hey Man, this is what I call *groovy* @the 808!!!

  • Thanks from Munich to Munich ;)

  • Cool a neighbour... Greetz! D.O.E.

  • Damn, that is tight as hell when the 808 bass comes in at 1:23.

    Very good

  • Yeah good! Look at my vidéo with the MC-808 and tell me what you think about.

  • ... und ich hab die Hose. ;-)

    Hammer Sound!

  • JEAH !electro dust :-)

  • cool :)

  • laber ned, des klingt auch so end geil.

    Also mir gefällts...

  • it would've sounded better with an industrial beat. i tried it on my 808 and minoog voyager and it sounds way crazier tri it . its so cool lol :)

  • I'm trying to start a industrial/electronica band with my friend. I was wondering if this work in that style of music, i'm poor so I don't plan on getting any other gear for right now other then this, so will this help me out?

  • most certainly, especially if you go around hitting things with hammers and sampling it into it. Samplers are only as good as the samples you use.

  • Hey krunk,

as the farmer already said. Its about what you can imagine with a sampler. Overall the 808 and 201 are great tools for what you pay for.

    Cheers

  • sex, drugs and rock'n'roll... das shirt is von newyorker, das hab ich auch! anyway, nice sound! :D

  • erwischt, verdammt ;)

    Cheers

  • this is insane

  • c'est vraiment excellent !! bonne continuation .

  • nice.....thnx

  • sweet sound, mood n all, lol. Had to pass this track on to some other peeps. They all say nice job! Dont'cha just love when technology catches up with where the mind wants to go, heh......

  • Hey Thx a lot. This really means so much to me. Stay tuned for some more sick stuff cause i formed a new project with sounds like this :)))

    Cheers

  • Um, I don't think you're useing your MC 808 like you should, should you not be adjusting to synth tones with the 808 instead of the synth?

  • And I'm not saying your doing it wrong, I was just wondering, because I see everyone else doing it that way.

  • Hey 5 , i dont understand what you mean. The 808 is sequencing the 201 guess this is how midi works ;) Cheers

  • Really good track! Do you find that programming on the small screen on the mc 808 can be difficult?

  • Hey Spiral, the screen is not really much of a problem. The 808 is all about sound and i dont use it to arrange tracks. I just use her for live gigs. Also with the machine you get some really good software for extenden programming.

    Cheers

  • Hey Horserock, thats strange didnt cost me more than 750 euros so in pound it should be way more less. On egay they are selling for round about 500 euros. So get one now ;) Cheers

  • very nice sound i like the style greetings from basque country.

  • dude

you are simply amazing with that mc.

    its fucking creepy.

  • Very cool u sound !!! :D is really good !

  • Thx my friend and greetings to chile :)

  • Cool sound!! ..what cam are you using for these video? Because the image is so good, sharp and clear. I wan to know. Greetings from Argentina.

  • Hey Thanks for the kind words. The Videos are recorded with the built in webcam of my Apple MacBook Pro. The 808 is recorded at the line in. Greetings from Germany

  • saubre arbeit jung

  • Didnt know that -lol

at least it means something different here in Germany ...

  • Thx Megaplex :) Im from the South of Germany, namely Munich (Beerfest ;)

  • can you get a deep bass 808 sample onto the sh-201?

  • Should be possible but i would use the TR 808 sounds of the MC instead

  • Right. I have the SH-201 and I play keys in a band. I don't own an 808, so I was curious if it were possible to get the sample onto the SH-201.

  • nice and creepy

    reminds me of wumpscut

  • So guys, fire up your sequencers for the next remix roung. The Patches i used on the 808 ist UsrF001 (Tubular-Bell) for the Bell Sound. The nice overdrived drumloop is Patch UsrB118 (Armsbeat). So give ur best :) I really like the whole idea of Youtube Remixes so next round is up to you, like to do a remix too.

    Cheers

    Analog Suicide

  • thats a nice one wish i had bought the sh201 instead of my pcr500 midi keyboard my girlfriend wanted me to buy one damn was i stupid but hey i can laugh about it (lol)

  • Yes the 201 is really a nice add up to the 808. You can form the sounds way more thant with just the 808, and the price is really nice :) Go get one and sell the pcr to your girlfriend ;)

  • What's up Sui?...You're in a dark place there...What bells/synth pattern is that?...I'll do an RR remix of it. PEACE - RRKS

  • Yeah i think it was too much party this weekend ;) Gonna post the synth settings later whein im home :)
