  • Seems like a Russian MG-42...

  • does ANYONE make de milled DUMMY PKMs or semi auto ones?

  • strange....belt operated from the right side

  • I love how you film your shooting from the ironsight viewpoint, it's like watching a FPS video with awesome real-life graphics

  • The 7.62x54R cartridge somehow feels funny.. weren't rimmed cartridges quite obsolete back in the days when the cartridge was designed, in the late 19th century? :P

Nevertheless Soviet Union seemingly managed to produce anything out of it. :P

  • @moptim a cartridge with 850 m/s MV, more KE thank 762NATO is not obsolete. Not a single auto weapon properly made have trouble firing it. The 303 is not obsolete either, i wouldn't want to be shot from a bren LMG even in 2012 even if i'm a body armoured redneck with a hi tech toy M4, no i wouldn't

  • @moptim the 7.62x54R has the longest time used as a military round in history. while the west moved away from a rimmed cartridge the Russians suck with it. it worked for them. and if it;s not broke don;t fix it. plus there is like a never ending supply of the stuff why made a new bullet.

  • I like that wow !!!!!!

  • ive always liked foreign made guns its just more variety than just having american guns not sure if you can get the modernized version though

  • Is the smoke due to the weather that day or is that is how the gun was designed??

  • how come on some guns when the trigger is pulled the hammer goes backward instead of forward. does this make any difference to the fire rate?

  • man you sure know allot about guns .

  • The shells come out the left side? That's really different.

  • @crazyalguy ...In Soviet Russia...

  • @crazyalguy

Yeh..The ammo is fed from the right side which is different from what we are normally used to in the West, at least in later years.

  • my favourite medic weapon in BF @ Bad company

  • @naydah

Okay, interesting. Nothing is more interesting that bringing videogames into talk on "real gun" videos....

  • is this a standard version of this machine gun or did you do something with it? i'm just wondering because the ammo feed is on the right when (i might be wrong about this) it usually is on the left on most guns. but maybe i'm wrong about that.

  • same round as the nagant!

  • I'd pick this over an M240 any day.

  • This shit is way better than the one in MW3

  • Were do you purchase your parts kits for these weapons?

  • Real wooden stock or polymer?

  • 7.62x.39?

  • @wolftamer22 7.62x54R, read the description :P RPK is the gun that uses 7.62x39 and looks like an AKM with a longer barrel (and works exactly the same way)

  • I use to carry that in Yugoslav People's Army.great machine gun

  • Amazing. What time period was this gun being used?

  • @Ca1861 The PK series light machine gun came about in the early 60's and this version shown is the moderized version which is still produced.

  • @C2builder Now I curious. What's the definition of light machinegun if PKM counts for that?

  • @Ca1861 Uhh its like the main machine gun for the Taliban XD

  • @Ca1861 i is still used today in combat.

  • @Ca1861 PKM has been used in Vietnam War, right up to the Afghanistan War and the 2011 Libya Civil War

  • @Ca1861 Last time I was in Afghanistan they were still shooting these things at us...if that's any indication. It's awesomely light and a handy weapon.

  • @pedollama That even more dangerous than being shoot by an Ak-47.

  • jumping MG:D

  • lol the smoke all over..cant tell if there dead at that point

  • How precise is a gun like this? Could you still accurately hit a target with a single shot at range, or is this guns sole purpose directed suppression, deadly nonetheless.

  • @MrGermantim Very accurate even single shot. This gun does best when fired in short 5 - 7 rd burst.

  • @C2builder i heard that they can be used at 1600 is that true?cuz 1.6km seems like a lot but i`ve seen some "high tech" scopes on them so is is true?

  • @IWANAROCKYEEEAAAA 1640 is about max distance.

  • @MrGermantim We fired those in Finnish army, it's very accurate, especially with single or 2-5 shots bursts. Easy to use and maintain.

  • My brother fired this at Knobb Creek, it is one serious machine gun!

  • i'll unlock this soon in BF3 can't wait!

  • @FenderRox lol the m240b is waaayyyy better

  • @FenderRox BF3 has the PKP "Pecheneg" which is essentially a modernized PKM.

  • 7.62x54 ROCKS!

  • Russian gunsis the best

  • this is like pov porn!

  • I'm jelly.....

  • man i want one i wish you could have one legaly with out class 3

  • aren't the casings going to hit your face?

  • PEOPLE

    KILLING

    MASTER

  • i don't like this gun seeing ive been on the wrong end of it

  • Which one is best? RPK, PKM or RPD

  • @geevoguuvo

    RPD is a joke.

    RPK is decent.

    PKM is king.

  • wtf it doesn't look like this on CoD?! Just kidding, great vids!

  • Im staying at this guys place during the zombie apocalypse!

  • true but the weapon is desgained for infatry suppression and well it is ifen good for killing it is more often used as a fire suppresion role

  • why use the 7.62 by 54 when the infatry assult rifle in service was the akm (ak-47 akm is upgraded to the orgioanl ak ) it like the us m16 m60 cundram

  • @kullas924 All light machine guns offer increased range, long fire suppression and maximum impact damage.

  • @kullas924 The PKM(7.62x54R) is used as a LMG, they do use "MG's" in the same round as their service rifles, this would be the RPK-74(5.45) with the AK-74M(5.45) in the Russian Military, it's like the US using the M240 as an LMG(7.62NATO) the M249(5.56) as it's name says as a SAW, and the M16/M4 series(5.56)

  • @kullas924 That's why the RPK was built. Mag/ammo compatibility.

  • @kullas924 because RPK-47 was a squad machine gun that used the lighter bullet.

  • she she can pack a punch like anna kournikova

  • sexy.

  • Thats just awesome 0.o

  • Have you ever built a PKM off of a Vltor Reciever?

  • @bonehead712 No but I have built one out of stripped reciever halfs, which is far less completee than a Vltor reciever. If you can build a stamped reciever AK then you can build one of these, really easy.

  • @C2builder Excuse me for being a Newbie on guns, but what is the little wooden handle sticking out the left for?

  • @AccessDenied55 It's a plastic handle attached to the barrel that can be used to carry the gun, hold the gun in assault mode and also to remove the hot barrel. I didn't think that was a newbie question.

  • @C2builder I always thought the Handle on a MG had something to do with how they fire. What is your favorite Russian/Soviet MG? RPD,RPK,PKM, DP-28, or DhSK

  • @AccessDenied55 Best all around Soviet light machine gun is the PKM. Heavy MG is the Dshk and best rifle is the AK-74.

  • @C2builder I personally like the RPK & RPD

  • @C2builder ever thught in investing in a b.a.r. ?

  • @clonetrex Always looking for one at a good price.

  • pkp is much cool

  • Does this use the generic Russian 7.62x54 Nagant round?

  • I always love the Russian sights I love the mosin sights and the AK sights to and this ones sights

  • wow. Lots of smoke. maybe it's just the video? Can't see the target.

Also: Why such short bursts? The last burst on this vid is more like the way you should fire a belt-fed machine-gun.

  • @mlovmo All the smoke was from 1950's surplus ammo. I would have shot longer burst but then there would have been more smoke.

  • @mlovmo

If I am allowed to say this regarding burst lenght. When I was in finnish army we were taught to fire use as short burst as possible. Despite 100 round belt. accurate fire is still important.

  • @GeneralCalculus Yes, you know that and I know that, but most guys viewing these videos want to see machine guns firing long burst or mag dumps...I try to please everyone.

  • heyy, i saw that gun in Ethiopia :)

  • RUSSIA POWER

  • very shitty machine gun when you compare it to mg42

  • no pkm rifle is a m84

  • @MrMadjionicar You are wrong.....go to back of classroom.

  • WHY CANT THERE BE MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS?

  • Great video ;)

  • death by soviet aggression

  • how are you supposed to stay on target if this thing fires clouds?

  • @AcAAvengersClan

MG's are mostly used to keep heads down and throw lead downrange accuracy isnt as important on MG's as they are on Assault Rifles

  • In Soviet Russia bullets come from right side!

  • intense one handing?

  • what kind of licensing do you need to obtain a fully automatic PKM? I live in CA so I'm not gonna count on getting one though hahaha. The laws here suck

  • Quick question, I noticed its feeding from the right. Now I dont know anything about Russian weapons, but do they usually do that? Or is this a specific lefty made one?

  • @alextheman12345 The Russian Maxim 1910 also feeds from the right side, but the RPD feeds from the left.

  • @alextheman12345 Feed from the right is easier for a right handed gunner operating alone. Feed from the left is easier for an assistant gunner. US Browning (.30 and .50) can feed from either side.

  • @Cookynator Before making a foolish comments and knowing your facts go and watch my PKM disassembly video, at 4:10 you will see that this PKM has the standard AK style "winged" front sight as ALL PKM's do.

  • @C2builder Ahhhh sorry, my rather terrible mistake. Ididn't see that, It looks like the fully covered sight of a Type 80 at a quick glance, and I've seen so many fools recently trying to pass knock-off chinese copies as Soviet or Russian made Kalashnikovs that it made my blood boil, I really should learn to look before I leap in with hasty comments

  • @Cookynator No problem. I agree with you on the copy-cats.

  • Check out russian "pecheneg" modern machine gun. It looks so sexy with eotech optic.

  • I want one. x54r is so cheap...

  • How much was this not that i want to buy it just wondeing

  • dont the rounds usually go in the other way i dont know maybe im dumb plzzz reply

  • @AxCanadianxAirsofter I think ( I maybe wrong) that you could filp the ammo feed in different ways depending on if you where left or right handed, And , your not that dumb if you noticed that!

  • @benissocoolFACT You can't sway the side that the weapon feeds. I don't quite understand the thinking behind it myself.

  • this is my dream gun

  • @jaller999 ?? The Pro´s are Heckler & Koch , LWRC and company like this but not the russians ;D;D !

  • Pretty much a full auto, belt fed, Mosin Nagant.

  • @BlakMayo44 Exept its not a bolt action rifle..

  • I want to play Socom 4 now

  • Ahhhh, the great sound of a russian lmg. URAAA!

  • PKM has the best Iron Sight, I love that sight so much! it is very easy to use and if you are good enough you can use it as sniper long range kills.

  • @GerrettJihad Dude this is not freaking cod or something?

  • all russian weapon has a small bit of an ak-47.

  • In Soviet Russia, Pkm shoot you

  • Wow! I thought the PKM's rate of fire is very slow.. but this is really really fast!

  • This is a cool machine gun :D

Can you do a video with an M60 sometime? :D

  • thats weird ive never seen a right-fed

  • Isn't it weird that it ejects spent brass across the shooters view? I mean most guns eject to the right, or down...

  • A non disintegrating metal ammo belt? Never seen that before.

  • @LogicalLube It seems to be us"easterners" thing.

  • "Remember, no Russian." ;)

  • a copy from stg or mg germany arms

  • Gosh, ya can't see your target after shooting to much!

  • PKM is great gun! But MG3 and M240 is the best! (at least .. I think..)

  • Sounds like Russia wins again =)

  • I would like to see more videos of this machine gun. That or the M60 or maybe even an M240 if you ever get the chance.

  • you have an expensive hobby, how ca yo afford all of these weapon and ammunition?

  • DAAAAAAAAM! :O

  • It's quite a fun weapon to shoot with. Got to shoot some 100 rounds during practice in the army, thank god for concscription!

  • This is the most badass thing that sounds like a typewriter yet isn't a typewriter.

  • would a pre-1986 be exempted from some control laws

  • @SpiritofAdventure22 No such thing as a transferable machine gun built after May of 1986, they all then fall under the title of Dealer Sample and can only go to other NFA Dealers.

  • @C2builder Since you're a dealer, you technically own this rifle as long as you keep your FFL up correct?

  • @Dp908 Correct, and as a Post Sales Sample it will have to be sold to another NFA dealer or turned over to ATF for destruction if I give up my license. I do have the choice of cutting it up as a parts kit and selling to any non-licensed person if I want. What is called a Pre-86 Sales Sample (made for dealers before 1986) can be kept for myself after I give up my license.

  • Can these be bought on the black market for cheaper? LOL!

  • wheres the flash from the weapon barrel?

  • @PhantomDark21 flashes available only in Hollywood movies. In real fight flash mean - you'll be dead. Enemy will shoot to the flashes.

  • @AlexanderA80 or in first person shooter due to balance- u have to see where are u being shot from.

  • my god thats got a high rate of fire

  • I read in an old Shotgun News, that the biggest complaint was the non-disintegrating belt

  • @juncho1977 the biggest or the only one?

  • @juncho1977 fully desintegrating belts are not that practical if you are planning on re-using them. There are, however, PK belts made for use with PKB(APC version) and PKT(tank version) of the machinegun. These desintegrate into fine, handy 25 round beltlets - they are at the same time not too long so you stumble over them and easy to collect and re-use.

  • cool

  • like this in PR

  • best machine gun

  • wow thats good

  • 1 word0powerful.

  • Great weapon, I would opt for this over an M60.

  • dont wanna sound stupid but how do you get this shit?

  • Like that POV shooting

  • this video is absolutely excellent. i do a lot of 3d modeling, and this is incredibly helpful. thanks for the upload

  • PKM = People Killing Machine. =)

  • @Fearosius yeah but from the video it jumps to much and recoil is high, i don't think this would work on very good on long range

  • @desetnik15second But the shooter is not handing it properly. He had to keep camera, to u see that he only pull the trigger. If he kept PKM pressed into shoulder, and also press with body mass, then the recoil would be none.

  • @Fearosius actually the name PKM stands for : Pulemyot Kalashnikova Machinegun.i love the weapon.

  • @MGshooter1234 Thought the "M" stood for "Modernizirovann'yi" or "Modifikatsirovann'yi." "Pulemyot" translates as "machine gun."

  • @MGshooter1234 Nope, it stands for Pulemiot Kalashnikova Modernizirovannyj. And can be translated as Modernized Kalashikov's Machinegun. In Russian Pulemiot means Machinegun.

  • git sum!

  • Wow, what kind of ammo was that???....Lays down your own smoke screen...:-))

  • this is a cool vid

  • fukin awsome

  • Are there any transferable PKMs in the NFA registry, or are they all Post Dealer Samples? If so, what would a transferable PKM go for?

  • @VikingRaider793 There are no trandferable PKM that I know of nor have I seen any for sale that weren't Post Samples. My best guess if there was a transferable PKM with matching numbers and spare barrels like mine I would say somewhere between $30K and $40K.

  • @C2builder Typically most people who own fully auto machine guns have to worry about the cost of ammo, but in your case you can get cans of 440 rounds for about $85 shipped, if you buy in bulk even better pricing and standard shipping rate. The 7.62X54r round is a mean hard hitting round capable of extending beyond 800 yards.

  • ogh hell yeah thats great good job filming it.

  • it sounds deadly

  • Isn't that a left handed gun? He's holding it with his right hand...

  • In afghanistan we call those P.eopleK.illingM.achines and thats excactly what they are, try standing on the buisness end of one of those, not fun

  • @vthammerman they also call it the ak on steroids

  • ...essentially the work horse of the Russian military.

  • Shooting this thing is cool, it's accurate and has weak recoil, but carrying a PKM + 600 rounds in cartridge belts + a reserve barrel is not an easy walk, especially when you see your comrades carrying AKs.
