I told her I thought it was too slanted towards Christianity and she acknowledged that was fair. I do my best to instruct students in the way you suggest - fairness - but, all has to be subjective to some degree, no?

I realize the way I worded my previous comment made it seem like I was implying something about your teaching skills, but I was not trying to. I was just curious as to who the lady was. Overall the essay was quite good. Personally, I am not that good at right them because I always get writers block.

Is this person one of your students, Mr. Powell? I didn't really agree with a lot of what she said because most of it was centered on the Bible. I would only agree to a world religion course in high schools if it were to treat every religion equally and without validation of one over the others. I disagree with her assessment of morality as well.

evolution is NOT a religion.

it is a conclusive, unified scientific theory.

I half agree with you. It is empirically demonstrable and I accept its truth, even I relish it. My student has a point too however. Evolution is a product of human consciousness, meaning, it wasn't effectively true until proven. It still isn't true for perhaps the majority of humans. As I tell students, belief is a fact too. If 4+ billion believe in unprovables, that belief itself is a reality.

You can't find and atom of justice or love, but they are real, no?
