RISC OS all the way :). Followed by Mac. Apparently Linux is quite good as well, but I've never actually used it. May any operating system including the name Windows or Microsoft burn in hell :) .
Windows 98 was damn aweful, 95 was much better. Forget ME too. To be honest XP is a perfectly good OS but for me, Amiga owns them all even Linux as it usually takes the best part of 5 seconds to boot 3.1 on a non expanded 1200.
hey ive been a windows guy all my freaking life bill gates rocks the mac guy sucks the only thing he he make good is phones and mp3 and mpp4 divices ill give him that
Windows is special. It make me feel special. All warm and fuzzy. Ah, Windows. Extra code in every edition. I like extra code. It makes me feel like I got my money's worth.
I think that my only problem with Linux is the driver recognition with my laptop (audio and Internet). If you want to give it a try without installing it on your computer download Knoppix, save the CD image into a CD/DVD and boot your computer from the CD.
oh man the bit where you just went psyched was funny as! hahaha im getting the bsod lately on my comp and ive had the urge to throw my damn computer out the window!
i know u were'nt but the link leads to this mac hatred site. and it is cool u dont like macs i have a thing against apple that it even gets myself annoyed.
The Blue Screen of Death was gone about 6 years ago... Now even for modern day Macs, that gay pinwheel thing just wouldn't stop spinning in front of you.
if it's a pop-up window that forces the computer to restart, that's a virus. If you ever got it, you must google a program to remove it. The BSOD is replaced by the error message log forcing to shut off a program.
Well if you ever get a hardware or driver issue that prevents XP from booting.. and you haven't disabled the automatic reboot your PC will be stuck in an endless boot/reboot cycle without any info on what device is causing it.

Really? Quite interesting, got it a couple of times too when I was about 9.
Anyways, about Macs ( The hot chick in Computing, cute but dumb )
--- Don't even DREAM of attempting a reinstall.
--- They too have a Screen of death, it's just got better looks :S
About Linux ( Actually a nice Idea )
--- It's not even usable to the standard user yet. Crappy, Specially Ubuntu.
How do I Know? Experience.
So basically, you'd better learn some Microsoft-computing and go on loving Windows.

@CasaGR. lol. You have no idea what you are talking about. All linux distros are perfectly usable for standard desktop computing.
Maybe you need to linux out again and get some more "xp".

Have you considered getting technical support? and also Do you have 98 or XP? (there's a great difference in both).
I remember that when I had WindowsME I got a bunch of viruses that I couldn't start my PC. I got technical support for $10 and done, it was like new.
I got a Windows XP now and I haven't had any trouble, no BSODs, no crashes, etc.
Cenobite321 5 years ago
uhh, if it says windows 98 on startup wtf kinda stupid ass question is that!!

Pretty nice job filling your PC with viruses, it really got screwed.

You're wrong, in XP the default setting is to reboot instead of showing you the BSOD in the event of a Windows crash but it's just a setting.
poolster 5 years ago
if it's a pop-up window that forces the computer to restart, that's a virus. If you ever got it, you must google a program to remove it. The BSOD is replaced by the error message log forcing to shut off a program.
yellowskin9130 5 years ago
If you don't believe me goto Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery (Settings Button) and untick the 'Automatically Restart' box.
This disables the automatic reboot in the event of an XP system failure and brings back the BSOD.
Not that I care coz I use Linux.
poolster 5 years ago
ok, what if none of us disables the setting? Then what's to worry about?
yellowskin9130 5 years ago
Well if you ever get a hardware or driver issue that prevents XP from booting.. and you haven't disabled the automatic reboot your PC will be stuck in an endless boot/reboot cycle without any info on what device is causing it.
