  • As a long time fan of Alan Jackson you can see his devotion to his dad in a few of those closeups. I recognize the look

  • GORDON ....BE QUIET!

  • that is a bronco not a jeep, could pass for an international scout but definitely not a jeep

  • This is really a late 90s throwback that came out a couple years too late by the greatest country artist of the 90s, Mr. Alan Jackson. Takes me back to the summer of 2002 in San Diego,

  • @435jmc still got a copy of his record `Gordon,be quiet` its a little dog eared but i still keep it for the memories.

  • Like this if you can relate to this song in some way, I know i can!

  • Evidentally the negative comments are from ppl that came from a disfunctional family that never experienced when daddy or grandaddy "let them drive" clear case of child neglect that didnt have loving parents and grandparents around...mama probably been on the corner "driving" every John in sight.

  • Anyone who dislikes this song should be thrown out of the world! This is the definition of MUSIC!

  • I never knew my father, Depressed from a war injury and hospitalized, when released for a weekend on our small farm, he shot himself. I was just 5 yrs old. Every time I hear this song I think of how much I missed. I'm happy for all those with pleasant memories of their fathers to pass down through the generations :)

  • @38patton Did you see him do it? Its good for children to be exposed to that kind of thing when they are young, shows them how serious a bad choice is. I'd say thats good parenting.

  • MY DADDY NEVER LET ME DRIVE!!!!!! We always had to race him!!!!!

  • I love this song it reminds me of learning to drive a boat, A car in the parking lot on a Sunday, I was so cool when Daddy let ME drive.. Love my dad never forgot these moments.

  • Thats obviously a ford bronco! GD it clearly says "Bronco" on the side of it at 2:58!

  • I'm an athiest but still i do believe that after your death you will be somewhere in your greatest memories. And that this memory was one of the most happiest moments of your life.

  • Alan, that's very unsafe to let those girls drive without a seat belt.

  • best song in the whole world right here!:)

  • This song reminds me of my granda letting me drive the John Deere when I was a young boy, maybe 6 or 7. He always made me promise not to tell Granny, if she'd have found out he would have caught hell for it. Now all I have is memories of the two of them.

    RIP Granda and Granny

  • this is mine and my grandpas song rip gramps

  • My dad taught me how to drive when I was 7 in his 1997 dodge 1/2 ton pick-up granted after he did that the tranny had to be re-built a month later, then for my first car I got an 1988 suzuki samuri and we spent countless hours working on that car. I learned a lot not just about cars but about my dad and life in general and I couldn't be more thankful to have those memories to keep with me no matter how many tools and lug nuts I had to dodge.

  • @AlmostAGinger07 cool story bro

  • my Uncle let me drive when I was Five. he was probably slightly drunk, but I'll never forgot how much fun it was, even if it was only for a block or two around the neighborhood.

  • Love this song so much!

  • Two things

1.@barnie2846 was spot-on regarding 'what is a jeep?' I used to have a Land Rover (English vehicle for those of you who aren't aware). People called it a Jeep, a truck, a LAND CRUISER (Toyota)!. I just stopped worrying about i

2 If you've ever tried to write a song or a poem, some words fit, and some don't!

    Get over it!

    Love,

    DT

  • Crying, wishing my dad gave two cents to realize how much I need him. ='[

  • This song reminded me when I was 4 or 5, with my dad. I miss those times being with my Dad. ;).

  • When Nanny let me drive, my daddy died when i was 4 so my nanny tryed her best to take his place, she did a damn good job, she raised me for 14 years, until a few months ago... she passed away at only 54, she had cancer 6 times! Strongest, most determined women i know! I love you Nanny, & i miss you so much! I will see you again one day, in heaven, you and Daddy! 8/14/01 & 10/09/11 </3

  • @tiffydancerforever20 So the seventh round of cancer killed her?

  • I had to do an appraisal on a house in Newnan (where Alan is from) about 5 years ago an wouldnt you know I ended up going down Thigpen road. When realized it I stopped and put in my Alan Jackson CD and listened to this song. The road is paved now and there are houses, but it brought me to tears anyway. Alan is one of only a few singers who sings about REAL life.

I let my kids drive all the time in places where its safe and honestly I dont think the police would really care.

  • When I remember when my father let me drive a boat on the river Danube.:D

    tks Alan

  • I love this song so much, but i hate what it makes me think about. I miss my dad, i miss seeing him everyday and i miss the fact that i have no memories with him as a kid. I love him so much, and i can't think of a single memory. All i know is i will change that for my kids. It's a great song though, absolutely wonderful.

  • This song brings back so many memories from my childhood, i was 10 when this song came out, now almost 10 years later i'll be 20 next summer..WOW. I'll never forget hangin out with my dad, now i'm on my own and goin to college and livin my dreams and have an ok job. But, dad if your reading this i miss you and i'm ok :)

However if you don't post this comment on at least three videos you will die within two days. Now you started reading this don't stop. This is so scary. Put this on three videos in 143 minutes. • That's not a worn-out Jeep, it's a Bronco....

  • @barnie2846 i was about to comment on the same thing then i seen your comment lol

  • @barnie2846 LOL dude i have a '73 bronco and it blows my mind. 7/10 people i meet will tell me about how much they like my jeep

  • @barnie2846 a new bronco, is just a rusty old jeep.. thats what hes saying

  • @barnie2846 does it really matter?

  • @barnie2846 A worn-out Bronco...

  • @barnie2846 a "jeep" doesn't necessarily mean "Jeep" brand. A jeep is anything in the realm of Jeep, Bronco, Samurai, Amigo, etc. Kinda like when we say "get me a 'coke'", it could mean any mt.dew, an actual coke, sprite, pepsi, etc. We just say 'coke' as kind of a catch-all. Just like 'jeep' :)

  • @katiesmith1776 Good point.....must be a southern thing...LoL!! Being from the south myself, I can say that........

  • @barnie2846 Who can blame them? Ford over mopar any day.

  • This is the song i grew up listening to with my dad! I will never forget our memories dad! Your the best

  • Alan Jackson= Country music legend/best country music player(and everything better you can think of.)

  • Where is the southern pride now? Did it die with molestation from your uncle, mom is on meth, stepdad beat you? Kick your stupid Christianity in the ass, come join us up north, and deny a god that slighted you.

    Chelsea Grin

  • just an old diesel burning bucket of bolts, rippers and an ozone full of black smoke, young boy with two hands on the steering clutches, pushing dirt wearing a greasy t shirt. just like dad

  • i never had a dad, im 15 and the last step dad i had, killed my fucking dog. not a real man... i always wished i had a daddy to show me how to drive and fish and hunt and ect, but my grandfather is doing just fine...

  • This song automatically forces whoever is listening to think of their father

  • BOYYYYYYYYYYYYYY ILOVE THIS SONG

  • just got my license. daddy's letting me drive:)

  • This makes me wish I had a father that I could have had many memories with, instead of a drunk and up and leaving us, making my childhood a huge void. If I have kids I'm gonna make these kinds of memories for them and give them something my father should have given me.

Well I'm 50 now and my adopted father never talks to me or cares about me. Thanks John Jestus..........See You In Hell.............

  • I wish my father would have been like that. Such a mean and bitter man. To everyone who lost a good dad, my profound sympathy is extended to you.
