people tend to believe that the term "militia" means less than a real soldier, the truth is that despite the fact that they are usually levied into armies, they most of the time fought harder than a real volunteer. A volunteer made the choice to fight because they had nothing to lose and were patriotic and willing, if you didn't volunteer you usually have something to lose, like the family they struggled to provide for. Thus giving them a berserk and fanatical fighting style in battle.

@AustGeneral Well, in times of overpowerd Light Dragooners you didn't need Line Infantery but now when they deserved a nerf (decreased range and stats) Infantery is also pretty important. Snipers are still too strong - at least in comparsion with regular light infantery which has no reason why to get bought over Snipers.

its funny really, that is exactly what I was thinking until without seeing the whole video, cavalry spam is an instant win in my book, out of curiosity, I might have a 2v2 replay that is up to high lvl of play, is there a possibility of commentary on it. What do you mean "thinking?" This isn't a theory. Cavalry spam can be easily beaten with a cool head (but not many people spam cavalry on ETW).

I have seen my fair deal of cavalry spam. Mainly in 4 vs 4 battles. Its useless. Its always the same with these cav spammers. They charge, they fight for 1-2 minutes, they all die. The defender takes minimal casualties. The most annoying part is they initially believe themselves to be so "clever" for bringing all cavalry. Like its never been done before.

Just do some research on good videocards that are compatible with your system (and are strong enough to play ETW).

Can we stop saying ETW sucks just cause this video shows that it does. Not many people use Austria and these 2 kids are just bad and have to spam skirmishers. In my opinion the game isnt that bad u just cant expect to win all the time the maps were made so that people wouldn't always win but rather get delt a bad hand and have to deal with it. Like real life, unlike RTW where it has flat maps and if ur good at it then u will win like PoM.

The MP maps are absolute shit. If you want to talk about REAL life, then you're not looking at the whole picture. In REAL life, the opposing armies did NOT have equal resources. So if you expect an army with equal resources to attack you while you're fortified on a hill, then you're a lamer.

Funny thing about 4 vs 4 battles, which I usually play, is the fact that its basically 2, 2 vs 2 battles going on next to each other. Whenever I face a guy who wont give up his position, I just swing my army to other side and help my allies make a 3 vs 2 battle :) That either forces the campers down, or not, resulting in A: fair fight. B: clear victory.

Its odd that you can run ETW at the highest or close to highest but not MOW. I always thought ETW was more demanding. As for the battle it was quite disgusting actually, horse and skirmisher spam. The one guy who had the courage to bring two line infantry units was slaughtered. This is why I dont play empire online anymore, too imbalanced worse than any other TW in terms of MP. Also everyone using austria no surprise, windbasche jaegars will slaughter anything.

I partly agree, Larzarus, although I personally prefer Empire, I still think that CA needs to get their butts together and stop working on Napoleon (which should be just an xpac) and get the multiplayer campaign ironed out and released.
