What they should do is simply do what happens in real life when you actually get shot... If you get shot in the stomach, you can survive for a while but you bleed and lose life little by little until you die. If you get shot in the leg, you move more slowly. If you get shot in the arm your aim is reduced! Of course med kits would heal you and remove these effects. I think this is the next step to achieve in FPS.

Even if you were wearing a ceramic plate vest, the impact from a .338 Lapua Magnum would more than likely break all of your ribs and slam you to the ground. That's nearly 5,000 ft/lbs of energy imparting itself upon you in a split second at point blank range, And that's assuming that the plate did in fact stop the bullet.

@sacriel42 there are a couple of weapons in BF3 that, in real life, would punch straight through the ceramic plates of the current gen. the M39 EMR [M14 on steroids] has armor piercing rounds standard which would instantly go through the ceramic. and the M40A5 for example, has a round that was purpose built to travel lengthy distances and pierce armor plating. MP7 and P90 were also made for armor piercing purposes. so there are a few that should be less than 3 or 4 sshots in close range haha...

@sacriel42 True.Modern bodt armors are reinforced on the chest cause this area doesnt have to bend as much as the rest of the body.That balances out the fact that chest is an easy to hit area.Most modern day body armors could shrug off many rounds and even some sniper round when hit on the chest with minimal user damage.

@sacriel42 not really when you consider that just a 762 rifle would punch a fist sized exit wound in an unarmoured man at a long range. Granted ceramic plates are a good protection, but they are primarily designed to stop small caliber bullets like AR ones. Besides, even if by some miracle a heavy sniper round like the M98B fires didn't penetrate, the force of a bullet impacting at THAT velocity would break most of your ribs and likely crush your lungs, you would be in no condition to fight.

@sacriel42 The M98B that you are using shoots the .338 Lapua Magnum round. Very capable of punching through body armor, even trauma plates.

@sacriel42 actually mate, the .338 lapua round was chosen for use in the british army because it the specs was that the round should be able to pass through all available bullet proof vests at 1000 yards..so body armour will not help you at all against a big calibre gun, especially at close range

(the barret on this game is meant to use a .338)

also on bfbc2 bolt actions were 1 shot kill at less than so many yards and the balance was fine)

@Howitzas he deploys his bipid lowering his head, i was aiming up to the peak of his head to secure the headshot, watch him BEFORE i even aim - hes slowly decending but not crouching, has a machinegun and is infront of the waist-high block.

I'm curious what your comments/thoughts are on the retail version... regarding CQB sniping. I did this exact thing in the beta (although with the mk11/SVD) and thoroughly enjoyed the hell out of it. Feels like like they turned the rifles into nerf bats in the retail version, and this tactic/playstyle gets you killed more often than not, at least from what I've seen.

How did you get your knives to work so well? Anytime I tried it I swing the knife and nothing happens. I get a lot of delay between when I actually swing as well as when I kill somebody.

and sniping was 1 shot kill to the head only in BF2 too. And in that game you could still snipe in close quarters. i think its viable.

My favorite weapon for CQC Sniping in BF 3 is the SVD with Laser Sight, the 4x Scope and the tactical Grib.

Great video, I really like that you mention the beta bugs and explain that they wont be there in Retail. There is a lot of commentators raging about the bugs in the beta ruining the game.

Would be really cool if you do a video explaining Quickswapping(reload animation dodging via weapon swap). I've been using it for a while now on the beta with the bolt actions and its really good if you can pull it off.
