  • This is awesome!

  • the beginning is minor swing by django, so dont call it an original song of yours! cheers!

  • n@vuxvix The music of the credit tittles at the beginning is an original song, after, the lesson is based on the Minor Swing changes, with the armonized intro indeed. Please read the video information: "This is a manouche swing comping with only one shape chord over the Minor Swing chord changes." Cheers.

  • Hi, what guitar is that? I'm in the market for a gypsy jazz guitar and I'm trying to decide between the Cigano GJ-15 and the Gitane D-500. Thank you!

  • Hi

I prefer the Gitane D 500 but If you'll try and add more money then buy thr DG255 or 300 (John Jorgenson model

    Good Luck!

  • Stringcordeta's videos are where I turn when I want to hear pure, technical and tonal beauty. Shows what you can do if you practice for an hour every evening for ten years. It's not that other people can't do what he does, but his technique and his tone are flawless. Anyone who claims you don't need technique or that it can get in the way of good playing is selling a gold brick. People who don't take time to develop technique are sour graping simply because they lack the discipline to do so

  • what is the point of this video ?

  • Come se llama la musica de introducion el video?

yo no hablo bien spañol, excusas!

  • Please tell me what guitar is that? I mean model and etc? thanks

  • AMAZING !

  • i hear a lot of minor swing in the feel

  • sounds like minor swing to me

  • I've been looking for a video that's got a clear shot of the right hand action. Happy to find this video! Thanks!

  • YOWZAAA

  • is the song at the beginning troublant bolero??? and wich "band" is it??

    thanks

  • @CorpusHunter That's me playing an original song called Bolero per Mireia, thanks for watch! cheers

  • @stringcordeta thanks, where can i find the song??

  • Great! This will be very helpful! :)

  • That is some pretty intense gypsy strumming going on there. Very solid, great job.

  • amazing!

  • this is not Swing Manouche Rhythm go home and learn!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Balno44 this is django's minor swing you idiot

  • Sounds brutally not like swing which is known for being light like a feather. He should focus more on heavy metal.

  • @sa7sul

you don't know anything about django?

  • @aslekay Indeed, there is much to learn for me, but I am lucky not as much as u have to catch up.

  • @sa7sul so you haven't heard of django or 'minor swing'?

and some one told you once that 'swing should be light as a feather' and you remembered you little cutie. Just don't try and pass regurgitated bull off as thought.

  • i like the 'le pompe' with the slight up stroke .... thats hard to refine.... btw i like the sound of your guitar ..... maybe a thicker pick ... or perhaps the microphone ... but you can tell that guitar has some gypsy kick ..... and its all good .... but.... metronome !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @weanus18 I'm with the headphones because i'm playing with metronome, sometimes while i'm editing the video this old camera makes little jumps and the tempo breaks a little. I recomended play with metronome, of course.

    Thanks for your comments, cheers.

  • @steelofcrom

    Go fuck yourself.

  • what kind of guitar is that one?

  • Comment removed

  • Great video! Can someone tell me what chords are used at 0:56, are those Em - Gm - B ? And at 1:05 he starts with Bm6 but i can't make up the rest.

    Cheers!

  • There is no chords, that's octaves, it's a E major arpeggio (notes E, G#, B).

    Cheers!

  • Makes sense! Thank you.

  • gypsy jazz is my favorite!!! :)

  • third chord is a d7

  • dminor6*

  • i think it might be a flamenco guitar

  • its a Gybsy guitar

  • my dad has this and his ring tone and alarm plus he love guitars

  • what guitar do you play?

  • This is an Olivier Marin

  • dans l'esprit....ecxellent...aurait tu les tabs de ta version

  • Excellent playing. Short, but sweet!

  • ah yeah!!!

  • Muy bonito tema, que es creacion tuya? felicidades tio tocas muy bien

  • No, es "Minor Swing" de Django Reinhardt.

  • nice

  • Thank You..

A nice neat way to play rhythm on this song. And I admire your beautiful guitar. its perfect for Django style jazz.

  • It's the intro and ending that have me stumped. How do you do that? Do you have tabs/fingering for that?

  • love it .. thank you and I like the sound.

the chord shape for first chord

    - middle finger 6th string on 5th fret

-ring finger 3rd string on 5th fret

-index finger 4th string on 4th fret

    lovely harmonic shape

the intro is 1st and 3rds of the arpeggios played together, then octave playing

thank you so much for posting

    any alternate shapes you'd recommend?

  • Great vid

  • Great playin. I hate the sound of your guitar.

  • Oh thanks, I'm agree with you, I don't like this sound neither, I'm working on it ;)

  • Don't listen to that A-hole. The Grande Bouche is bad-ass!!!

  • What!? you sound Amazing! and I'm going crazy because I can't figure it out! Have you tabbed out your arrangement? Would you be kind enough to send it to me?

  • look up how to do a minor6 chord. the chords are Am6 Dm6 to Bm6. the Bm6 is suppsoed to be E7, though, but he's using one form :)

  • This form of Bm6 is the same as a rootless E7.

  • @samuelshepard

Actually Bm6 and E7/B are the same chord

  • actually other than the bass note, there is an F# in Bm6. i think you meant E9 and Bm6

  • @samuelshepard

Yes, I see what you mean, but he plays 3-note chords à la Django

He plays a shape of min6 chord skipping the 5th, just 3 notes (root, 6th, b3), so that Bm6 would be (B, bA, D)

If you play a E7 chord with just the root, 3rd and the b7, you get (E, bA, D). Put the 5th on the bass and you have (B, bA, D), i.e., E7/B

  • why is it called jazz? Its absolutely jipsy like no?

  • It's gypsy jazz ; )

  • It's called jazz because Django heard the stuff that black Americans were playing and listening to in WWI (i.e. early Jazz) and started playing an amalgam of it and gypsy music.

  • folks should know that the chord shape that is being moved around is, at various times and in various contexts a minor6, a diminished7 or a Dom7b9.

If the lowest note is the root then it is either dim7 or minor 13 (it's an ambiguous enough collection of notes that it can play both roles: G, E and Bb low to hi can be the ! 6 and minor 3 of the minor 6 chord or the 1, dim7 and b3 of the dim7 chord). If the lowest note is thought of as the b9 of the Dom7b9 chord it is that as well (with no root).

  • Bien joué! serait -il possible que tu me fasses parvenir la tablature ?

    pâr avance merci

    domi

  • thank you, I like to play the solo on your base :D

  • do you have a site?

  • excellent, helped alot

  • do you have the tabs for this song???

  • theres only one chord;P in his version at least... theres serveral ways to play it... its just the rythm section...

  • ¿?

  • nice job! :)
