My friend was suckered into this particular scheme, and while doing a bit of research here on youtube I couldn't help but share my two cents while the comment box was so open and inviting. Plus I was a little irritated after my same friend had brought me to a world venture seminar. Of course he didn't say we were going to a world venture meeting, he said he had a surprise for me. Something great, he couldn't explain it, I just had to see it .
@jackyjackson Nope, don't understand that in the least. You're saying that this is parsitic; essentially that we're exploiting people, using them or treating them unfarily. And that's fundamentally untrue. Journey, which this video promotes, is a six day personal development program. We've got HOURS of video testimonies from the event and stories of how it changed people's lives, allowed them to break through mental barriers, have "a-ha!" moments, etc. How is that a negative thing?
You make profit from the 70% failure rate. You need those people to fail to make money, so you have others join and have them enlist others and on and on. People lose money. You make money. That's parasitic.
You might as well get 10 people in a room and tell everyone to throw their money in the air and if they work hard enough they can get a pocket full of cash. But 7 people end up empty handed while the others took their friends' money.
@jackyjackson We make profit from the sales of our retail products; they're not contingent on a "failure rate". Many people enroll as customers & Reps & ultimately don't do anything w/ the biz; doesn't mean they're a failure. A very small % of the money we take in is based on the Rep opportunity, & that's non-commissionable. And just because the #'s show a certain % make money, doesn't mean those are someone's "odds" any more than gym utilization or college dropout rates predict your success.
It's not about the odds, I understand there is room for "success". (Though I would prefer minimum wage employment to success in this company, it pays better.) It's about the fact that you DO profit off of those failures and you DO profit from selling expensive sales tools to struggling salespeople. It IS a major portion of your profit coming from these failures, and it's entirely intentional.
Not to mention that there is nothing productive in what you do. It's juggling money.
@jackyjackson We don't profit FROM anyone's failure. That makes no sense. If we earn $ from the sale of new products, it stands to reason we'd want every one of our Reps to be active for the next 50 years because each additional sale they make is more revenue. AND, if they're also a customer, we'd naturally want them to be active for the next 50 years so that they'll continue to take trips, etc. Why would we want them to fail and/or cancel? But clearly, no amount of discussion will sway you.
Clearly no amount of discussion will pry you from your sales pitch. It's ok, I know that deep down you really don't believe any of what you're saying even if you're not man enough to admit it to me.
I'm generally a positive person too, I think unwarranted pessimism is a big sign of immaturity but when I see promises of new lives and friendship from this company. It just makes me sick.
@jackyjackson Well no one here's "promising" anything. We're just offering hope & opportunity. The opportunity, on a base level, to save money on vacations w/ our products. Then past that, the opportunity to operate a home-based biz & potentially earn part-time or even full-time income. And lastly, in pursuit of that objective (whether a Rep obtains it or not), a series of trainings to help w/ a Rep's biz education & personal development. And it HAS changed lives & created friendships.
I'm so excited for a 5-day venture into breaking old, bad habits, and replacing them with new, good ones! As they say, this company is just a personal growth company disguised as a travel company. This company has made me better and happier in every way!

I understand that you can paint this picture anyway you please, but at it's core this is undeniably parasitic. You understand that right?
