  • At 4:06 the guard in front of Burkhalter appears to be armed with a shotgun, a weapon a little out of place in Nazi Germany! :-) So, if Carter escaped at the end of this, why did he come back?

  • LLS notice how NONE of the german officers, behind Gen. Burkhalter, EVER moves or show ANY emotions, when shit starts happening 2 him? LOL the only time they even budge, is when Burkhalter, gets drinched under the water tower. and thats only b/c, THEY didnt want 2 get wet LOL/XXD. FUCKING LOVE, THIS EPISODE!!

  • You know, I just noticed some black pilots around the truck carrying the dogs. I believe those jackets are piolts jackets they are wearing. The only black pilots I know of in WW2 were the Tuskegee airmen. Nice shout out to those heros. :) Songs

  • @Songsmirth Redtails comes out friday. Another film about the Tuskegee Airman.

  • Wow. I forgot how much I love this show. Thanks!

  • LMAO. Thank you so much for posting the show. I use to watch this when I was a little boy. That was funny.

  • i want one of those luger lighters

  • this is the best lol

  • at 450 klink calls gen burkhalter col. burkhalter

  • @cityboi176 In this episode Burkhalter was a colonel & Carter was a lieutenant

  • @cityboi176 that's because General Burkhalter is a colonel in this episode, he then gets promoted to general after this week :)

  • Thanks soooo much for posting!! We all owe you one, man.

  • I see nothing!

  • It's interesting to see how things changed since the pilot: Klink called it "Camp 13" rather than "Stalag 13" in the pilot, Schultz was slightly effeminate in the pilot, Burkhalter was another Kolonel instead of General, and the Russian guy disappeared.

This show came out when I was in high school; within weeks we were all going about saying, "I see nothing, Col. Hogan! I hear nothing! I know nothing!"

John Banner was the real star of the show!

  • @KaptKan1 It's funny you should say that. I was in high school too and we were saying the same thing! "I see nothing! I know nothing." lol High school teachers and parents all across America must have gotten tired of that saying. :) Songs

  • I barely recognized Klink without the monocle!!! Love this episode though!

  • Schultz is the funniest guy in this show.

  • The tunnel is awfully big. Compare this one to The Great Escape.

  • I just realized Klink isn't wearing his monocle in this half of the episode!

  • Was this episode ever shown in colour? I can remember once, seeing this episode in colour!

  • I had a school boy friend who was German, his dad was a nazi and was a prisoner of war and sent to Canada. He came back in the 50's and started a family. Anyway the father was a very strict discipline type who absolutely hated this show, he would say its done on purpose to make us Germans look like idiots! Well no shit ha ha. I loved this show as a kid and still do today.

  • @Allanlegacy43 This show did nothing to make the Germans look like idiots. The Germans did that themselves.

  • @clintonearlwalker Yup 4 sure!

  • LMFAO at 6:30 7:23 and 8:07

  • Richard Dawson, Newkirk, is just utterly adorable in this episode!

  • Fun times!

  • Man o man, when I Looked last year this could not be found! Thank you for posting. If I could find the Wild wild west ? Well, my cup overflows now. OLD SCHOOL music and TV authenticity hands down.Even the commercials back then did not insult your mentality. Now they seem to think everyone is as dumb as they are.

  • One episode I liked was called No names Please. Is that one uploaded here? Can't seam to find it.

  • "a printing press cranking out enough money to destroy the economy of the Third Reich" Hmmmm......something about that sounds very familiar.

  • @rjsjn1 LOL

  • Why can't you find this on TV. These were great shows. I would like to own all of the episodes.

  • Thanks for sharing...brings back fond memories!

  • To BEdwardo25, Labeau was the name of the character played by Robert Clary, you idiot!

  • Comment removed

  • World War 2 occured in the 1940s, but stereo recording started in late 1957, so the mention of stereo is a BIG BLOOPER!!!

  • The dogs Barking at the Germans was the Best!!!!LOL.....

  • "why don't they trust us schultz" :)

  • I was a kid when this show first came out, and I remember watching this episode with my Dad. What a great pilot for the show! Filmed in black and white and very funny..My father would roar with laughter at Schultz's antics. I remember I use to think that the episode was going to be great when ever you saw a staff car enter the camp; Major Hochsteter or Burkhaulter...Great memories. Thanks for uploading these my friend.

  • @TheBlueipod2009 I agree. It's a shame that Bob Crane died, and in such a terrible way. I would not want go the way he did, bludgeoned by a camera tripod. R.I.P Bob Crane.

  • "There is a man who does not belong here! Who has escaped IN!!" XDDD

  • does anybody know where to find the one where kinch fights a german thanks

  • @texans91 its called the softer they fall its in season Season 5, Episode 18

  • Klink calls Burkhaulter "Colonel" 4:51

  • Great episode!

  • i'm glad olson was kicked out and carter was brought back

  • Interesting to see that in the pilot that Burkhaulter's rank is Colonel & not General as he would be in the show's run. Also they did not have the bunk beds as their entrance/exit to the underground tunnel for their secret command center.

  • LOL at 6:46

  • my personal favorite!!

  • isn't klink's secretary Hogans wife in real life

  • This was the 1st secretary and she only played the first season. Bob Crane married the second one in 1970 during season 6 on the set.

  • i saw olsen in a season 3 episode y wasnt carter there

  • Anyone know where I can find episode 2 Hogan's Heroes? It's called Hold the Tiger.

  • I have now uploaded it.

  • Thanks!!

  • Did he say COLONEL Berkhalter?

  • yes, he did

in the pilot Burkhalter was a Colonel, but later in the series he was promoted to General because he needed to outrank Klink

  • Yes...in the pilot, Berhalter was a Colonel. In the main series, Berhalter was promoted to two star general in charge of Luft Stalags, Berlin...making him even more of Klink's boss.

  • this was awesome I had never seen the pilot

  • Buy season 1 on DVD and you will have the episode

  • The dvd is missing a brief scene involving Olson with a girlfriend in an unnamed town. The pilot episode included in the dvd is from a later edited syndication episode. It was featured in earlier syndication editions but I guess they have lost the original episode altogether.

  • shultz is the best

  • @Wehrmacht3GD schultz. but yeah hes a beast

  • Horray, more Hogan's Heroes. I was waiting for you to update.

  • This show does make the cut. My dad lived under occupation in Holland and saw the Nazi's close hand. He likes this show because it portrays the bad guys as bumblers. Also several of the cast member suffered under the National Socialists.

  • @BEdwardo25 thats true. Leonoid Kinskey was a former prisoner of war and quit the show because it brought back bad memories. Lebeau was also a P.O.W. for 2 years.

  • ok so in this episode, they help carter escape so my question is when did carter come back and who's the guy that doesnt appear in other episodes?

  • They brought Carter back in the next episode as the Russian POW in this episode didn't want to be on the show because he didn't like the way they portrayed the Nazis in such a silly/fluffy manner. Can't blame him though, some things just can't be taken to lightly, and the Nazis are one of them (I knew an Austrian girl who blew her cork if anybody cracked jokes about Nazis)... so's war, which is why this show just doesn't cut it.

  • thnx

  • as i watch more of the show i kinda get the feeling that klink could be an american sympisizer (i spelled that wrong) but i dont think that anyone in their right mind could let out that much info "accidently" i dont belive that he ever admitted to be part of the Nazi party and Schultz never associated himself with any political party and i really dont think that it would be right to associate all germans of that time period as Nazis

    plz dnt shoot the messanger

  • Knowing Carter, he probably just got captured again.

  • no, they decided to keep him as a regular; something happened to Kominsky ???[don't know what]

Klemperer, Banner & Ames were all refuges from occupied Germany - a number of refuges came to the USofA to avoid the Nazis.
