is it possible if you could tell us how do you make the frames move ? i was trying to find it how to do it but i cant find it anywhere and you are the only person to create something like this so far. could you please tell us how to make it or even make a tutorial on it. Please .
So, if I'm lookign at this right, frames are something like the Zeppelin mod block-entities. They pop out of the grid, move their necessary distance, then pop back into it. And it looks like, with this demo, that you've gotten inventories straightened out, for the most part.Though, I have never seen where the frames and controllers meet. . . I'm curious as to how they actually connect, because they obviously do somewhere.
There has to be 2 rows of block breakers because of how the frames work. I assume at least. Unless eloraam makes a frame that has wiring and pipe built in, we will have to do it that way. The pipes have to go behind the block and the frame on the side. Any pieces on the side would block the machine from cutting to the edge.
Pretty cool, but aren't the two rows of block breakers redundant? It moves only one block at a time, so a second row is useless unless it moves 2 blocks at a time. Other than that, pretty amazing.
@emzeiss00 It looks like the two rows are necessary, because the Frames and Tubes can't connect from above, only from the side. So one would need to connect it on the side. So if It only had one row, when it got close to the edges of the quarry, the Frames on the side would hit the wall and the Block Breakers wouldn't be able to break the last row of blocks. So by adding a second row of Block Breakers, the new row on the other side of the Frames Could break that last row of blocks.
@emzeiss00 It apears to me that it has 2 rows (one on each side) for when it hits the edges of the mining pit, and it adds to the visual effect of a heavy duty mining machine.
@nickmilne97 I think the point is just to demonstrate what you can do with frames. Frankly, there is practically no point to this for the average Minecrafter when Buildcraft quarries are within reach but I think this video is supposed to say that you can do more with frames than just open some neat doors.
@TheSuperSmashBrother well, considering that it moves so quickly, it will mine faster than quarries, so i would make one of these instead of a quarry. i have nothing against quarries, but if these prove somewhat straightforward to build, ill use these instead.
@mrhomiebro Simple, it is way too expensive. Would you waste 500+++ iron on that project? Obviously the intent of this video is to show this new feature in action, not to show off with an unrealistic huge machine.
Watching this, I had an amazing super complex idea:
Automatic NPC Village building machine.
Frames move a GIANT machine of deployers and removers and use them to construct the main buildings in an NPC village, and then uses dispencers to pump in 1-2 villagers per home.
These are more epic than BC quarries cause they can go horizontal too, and in fact would go a lot further horizontal, limiting you only by wire length.
SO if a giant player statue were amde on SMP and it had a crap ton of internal workings inside it, it could have a hand with block breakers at the end of it and have frames make he hand extends out wards towards someplace and just snatch up the whole lot! I SAY! IT'S STEVEZILLA! The statue could also move by having a complex frame system at the bottom of some sort, and each pixel may need to by represented by a 3x3 block! :3
@Eloraam Is there something that determines the speed at which the frames move? I saw this and thought a fully functional elevator could be created but an elevator that moves at that speed would be unrealistic and impractical.
@stykzninja1 Its a automatic quarry digging up the ground for you. Keep in mind it requires so much materials it would pretty much be late end game items.
@supamap I kinda felt the same way too at first. But after going on her site and reading everything she is extremely intellegent. She helped with so much people don't even realize. Thanks Eloraam for all the hard work you put into these mods to make total strangers happy !!
In my minecraft games, I like to do things the hard way. That's why I really like Better than Wolves. I like this way of building a quarry rather than the BC way. But, I don't really like the redstone on walls or redstone circuit blocks quite as much. I'd rather just build a clock or an RSNOR latch myself.
@minecrafttimesportal if you look at the recipes for the redpower gates, you almost are making 'em. It's just that your doing it in a crafting table and the final result is less glitchy and more compact
I can see the whole concept with the frame mining machine and the sorting engines and so rly GREAT WORK!!!!! This is revolution to the minecraft wiring well now i could say it's literally electricity with all of this things ! GOOD WORK AGAIN !!!
@supamap BC quarries are not OP, powering them requires a lot of micro managing, fuel, coolant, but i love this(red power) way of doing thing way better, it is balanced in a different way and seem to be pretty fun. It is nice to see a little relief from the BC.
Also i was pleased to see that you tubes don't have an entity for ever tube piece AND item in it, like buildcraft has. RP only has an entity per tube piece.
This great for performance. It is easy to make BC lag the game.
@sallydvl by the time a greifer has made the quarry (IF a greifer was actually smart enough to create such a thing, which I highly doubt..) the victim would've already alerted the admins.
Looks good, too bad it isnt moving 3 spots at a time, and having all 3 rows activate all at once, which would be really nice.. much quicker quarrying.
I hope when BC 3.1 and RP2 are out, they work together. The complex machines that RP2 make possible would really benefit from the production(the new blue prints and paths) power.
Imagine making a complex tunneling machine that can only go one direction. After a while it would be out to sea. But deconstruct it with a BC Quarry. Then rebuild it with a BC blue print.
Only limit: MC handles entities poorly. I know BC gens a lot with its pipes; yours looks like it might be bad too.
Fantastic! With al these uses for frames, the intuitive tubes, Sorting machines, Deployers, Breakers, etcetera etcetera, You could build anything ANY factory mod can offer!
In block form, atleast.
The BC Quarries are great, but far, far too easy to manufacture. they require no know-how to create, just a recipie. RP Quarries, however, are a fantastic example of RedPower engineering at its best! Requiring redstone know-how, and general intelligence!
Furthermore, you could build A flying base that can strip mine a mountain into a flat plain, create a tower that scrapes the sky from the remains of the mountain, and then convert the tower into a gigantic factory with a quarry! All these ideas, fantastic ideas, stemming from Eloraams excellent coding!
@Lairosenbs Yes, thats about it. But this is just a demonstration of frames. With enough creativity you could make a quarry that mines the whole world for you. So basicly, this is far better then a BC quarry.
@2020Mace This is a manually made quarry. Eloraam is simply showing that her mod is so damned awesome, you can use it to replicate other mods if you're good enough with logic and machines, which I doubt you are. This "quarry" machine was built piece by piece, circuit by circuit, and is an actual moving machine without any of the magic blocks you'd find in Buildcraft.
When I saw RedPower for 1.7.3 I was literally jumping out of my shoes. Seeing how this mod is growing puts it on my must have list. Complex and technical mods are my thing :)
@Ccsteph22 you should check out any of the mods in the technic pack then. You don't have to use the technic pack but its got links to all the mods used in it so even if you feel the pack is detestable its still a good way to find new mods for people who like technical things.
This is amazing! Imagine the possibilities! With this there's no need to use either IC2 nor Buildcraft! Can't wait until it's realesed! Keep up the good work!
@Rubiksfan01 That's a problem don't you think? i mean its good that you wont have to install many mods, but wasn't that half the reason for The Forge? Red power, don't get me wrong, is an amazing mod, i use it all the time, but its kinda putting other mods out a business don't you think? i personally will still use BuildCraft because it is simply an amazing mod too, But IC2 i have never been a fan of because it had too many recipes and stuff :P But my point is i hope RP Doesn't take over mods.
@MinecrafterX3 Your absolutely right. I didn't think about that. But mods like BC and IC2 most likely won't die out beacause of RP2. There will be people that transfers completely like me, but RP is to advanced for some peoples liking. Therefore you don't have to worry about other mods going extinct. Someone will always like BC nad IC, no matter how good RP gets.
@MinecrafterX3 I HIGHLY doubt RP2 will put other mods out of business. It's not as well-known as BC or IC2. Typically, when I ask more technical Minecrafters, the popularity goes like this: BC, IC2, RP.
There's also how advanced the mod is. And, last I remembered, things like Blutricity were less efficient than other mods' methods of power.
BC is very productive. RP2 allows for more complex projects, and IndustrialCraft 2 seems to actually have an identity, it just.. fits in.
@spikeof2010 3 planks along the top, 2 cobble down down either side iron in the middle and redstone underneath :) vanilla block and craft a piston together with a slimeball
To everyone saying things like "other mods do this easyer", guess what, IRL you can't just slap a quarry to the ground and call it a day, this is, even if not completely, a lot closer to reality in terms of complexity and effort
AND MAKE CITIES IN A FEW MINUTES!!!!The only vulnureable place is Control Center(the machine itself protected with Reinforced Stone) and along with nuclear power plant it is a potential target for griefing.
You can also make a house building machine with that.
Idea is:
Deployers (set up in a П shape) build a floor, then machine goes up, and cycle repeats until it build 6 floors (counter stops the timer). The entire machine can move horisontally using another Frame that is high in the sky, then build an another house. All the electronics are inside Control Center(the signal is transported using Wireless Redstone). Now if griefer blown your house up, you can made another VERY quickly
The frames seem to do the same job as the quarrry, and although it looks so badass and complex ,to be honest, i still cant see a reason why we would use the frames instead of the quarry, as it isnt " cheap to assemble " ( no offence )
But still, even if they already decided against it (just for now I hope), I'm still hoping for a future collaboration between Eloraam, Alblaka and Spacetoad.
Imagine the potential awesome if they would ever gang up on one mod!
It would be much more appropriate to build this horizontally, maybe use this one to dig the chamber that you build the next one in. And once that one has started progressing you could build another and another until you're cutting and endless cross into the world.
this is extremely clever on the frame's part, but i think buildcraft quarries may be more expensive to assemble, it is much more convenient to run. but that looks far more industrial on terms of bulk.
i like it, and i was once completely against redpower. well done!
is there a limit to the # of blocks on a single frame system? i almost feel that larger machines will have to be slower or cost more to move or require more structural support (i.e. tiers of frames) to make it more realistic and less op. and the more complex building would be more fun
I love the way youve implemented frames. It's very simple to understand yet it has wonderfully complex possibilities, especially when control comes into play. I would ignore the comments that argue it's OP. The mateirials are not low cost and even a design like the one in the video has a limited range. Any chance of an eta for the next release? =D
whose hear of buildcraft coz u can do all that with 1 machine lol

can u make a video on a horizontal miner ie a tunnel borer please. Thanks. Brill mod tho.
ben13254 2 months ago
@ben13254 If you want a horizontal miner, use Railcraft's Tunnel Borer. They are compatible, I have them both.
anonomusfromtheweb 2 months ago
@anonomusfromtheweb I'm sure he already knows that, I think he just wants to see how it would handle on a horizontal axis.

This is amazing! Imagine the possibilities! With this there's no need to use either IC2 nor Buildcraft! Can't wait until it's realesed! Keep up the good work!
Rubiksfan01 2 months ago in playlist Uploaded videos 8
@Rubiksfan01 Yeah but Eloraam should keep those mods.
ccruiz2 2 months ago
@Rubiksfan01 That's a problem don't you think? i mean its good that you wont have to install many mods, but wasn't that half the reason for The Forge? Red power, don't get me wrong, is an amazing mod, i use it all the time, but its kinda putting other mods out a business don't you think? i personally will still use BuildCraft because it is simply an amazing mod too, But IC2 i have never been a fan of because it had too many recipes and stuff :P But my point is i hope RP Doesn't take over mods.
MinecrafterX3 1 month ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@MinecrafterX3 Your absolutely right. I didn't think about that. But mods like BC and IC2 most likely won't die out beacause of RP2. There will be people that transfers completely like me, but RP is to advanced for some peoples liking. Therefore you don't have to worry about other mods going extinct. Someone will always like BC nad IC, no matter how good RP gets.
Rubiksfan01 1 month ago
@MinecrafterX3 I HIGHLY doubt RP2 will put other mods out of business. It's not as well-known as BC or IC2. Typically, when I ask more technical Minecrafters, the popularity goes like this: BC, IC2, RP.
There's also how advanced the mod is. And, last I remembered, things like Blutricity were less efficient than other mods' methods of power.
BC is very productive. RP2 allows for more complex projects, and IndustrialCraft 2 seems to actually have an identity, it just.. fits in.
Each are fine.

o.0 so its obsolete before its even ready? I mean it seems like it will take longer to set it up then it would for this thing to mine to bedrock lol.
CrypticMass 2 months ago
@CrypticMass You can still do a quick and easy BC quarry mock up.

When do you think an update to redpower will be released with frames and redbus?

Why you need a buildcraft quarry
renzowen 2 months ago
AND MAKE CITIES IN A FEW MINUTES!!!!The only vulnureable place is Control Center(the machine itself protected with Reinforced Stone) and along with nuclear power plant it is a potential target for griefing.
olegattor123 2 months ago in playlist Другие видео от пользователя Eloraam
@olegattor123 and layerd with bedrock. One way in One way out 3 Trillion guards and one VIP
TheKkabcd 2 months ago
You can also make a house building machine with that.
Idea is:
Deployers (set up in a П shape) build a floor, then machine goes up, and cycle repeats until it build 6 floors (counter stops the timer). The entire machine can move horisontally using another Frame that is high in the sky, then build an another house. All the electronics are inside Control Center(the signal is transported using Wireless Redstone). Now if griefer blown your house up, you can made another VERY quickly

oh my, why are you so badass Eloraam?
SuperchargedSean 2 months ago 22
The frames seem to do the same job as the quarrry, and although it looks so badass and complex ,to be honest, i still cant see a reason why we would use the frames instead of the quarry, as it isnt " cheap to assemble " ( no offence )
MrHellowind 2 months ago
@MrHellowind never the less, good job!

@MrHellowind if you don't want bc but this is like a SEE WHAT I CAN DO!!! video not a this is better then that so use this

i like eloraam's look on things so much: make things only do a single thing so you have unlimited possabilities(sorry for bad english, not native)

StreetStar5 2 months ago
@StreetStar5 nope^, it was spacetoad ^^
Marc09619 2 months ago
@Marc09619 Hilarious!
But still, even if they already decided against it (just for now I hope), I'm still hoping for a future collaboration between Eloraam, Alblaka and Spacetoad.
Imagine the potential awesome if they would ever gang up on one mod!
chrigoog 2 months ago
It would be much more appropriate to build this horizontally, maybe use this one to dig the chamber that you build the next one in. And once that one has started progressing you could build another and another until you're cutting and endless cross into the world.

All other mods are being demolished :)
xXTraceurwillXx 2 months ago
this is extremely clever on the frame's part, but i think buildcraft quarries may be more expensive to assemble, it is much more convenient to run. but that looks far more industrial on terms of bulk.
i like it, and i was once completely against redpower. well done!
MCdictionary 2 months ago
I love this mod!
I always thought buildcraft machines are overpowered. THIS is fun!
PetrGasparik 2 months ago
is there a limit to the # of blocks on a single frame system? i almost feel that larger machines will have to be slower or cost more to move or require more structural support (i.e. tiers of frames) to make it more realistic and less op. and the more complex building would be more fun
1One2TwosAndPie 2 months ago
Winning!

Lol, it's a redpower quarry...

Good bye Buildcraft!
Redpower FTW!

Welp. I'm going to go hang some wallpaper so that I can claw at it until this comes out.
YotaXP 2 months ago
I love the way youve implemented frames. It's very simple to understand yet it has wonderfully complex possibilities, especially when control comes into play. I would ignore the comments that argue it's OP. The mateirials are not low cost and even a design like the one in the video has a limited range. Any chance of an eta for the next release? =D
