Monette is nice, but the pricing is to high. I'll stick with my $1000 trumpet cuz Ive been playing for over 20 years and can make my horn sound pretty much the way I want it too with technique and using different mpcs.

chapstick! keeping your lips moisturized is the key. if they are dry they wont buzz. i also use most upperlid, like i center the mouthpiece really low, so my upper lip is barely on the mouthpiece.

the idea is to force limited air thru your lips and by stretching your embouchure/lips it pushes forced air thru a smaller opening thus creating higher pitches. producing a controlled high ass note as you just saw lol

All good players will tell you that range comes from air, not pressure or stretching. It takes a faster air stream. If you use pressure you won't have a long career, you will end up like lous armstrong or maynard fergeson. Witrh satchmo's syndrome. It shouldn't take any more pressure to play a double G than it does to play a top of staff G. I'm just giving my opinion. Nothing works for everyone.

Your absolutely right. I use a bach 1 1/4c and can play a double G. You don't need to play higher than that although it is fun. Alot of young players switch to a schilke 14a4a thinking it will give them range. I try to tell them there are no shortcuts to range and endurance. It takes hard work, not a mouthpiece. Check out my channel and let me know what you think, I'm trying to get good again after a very long layoff. 10 years.

Mate, all I can say is what have you been doing for ten years. That tone is magnificent, why did you stop. I layed down my trumpet 15 years ago and you almost inspire me to pick it up again. But then I remember that hacks like me might be able to play a note, but musicians like you can play the tone. Give it all you've got, cause you do have talent.

@bigsolidkid I am just centering my embouchure and I am quite optimistic.

My sound really is much better than before (after 3 weeks), but my height has shrunken a whole lot. I think it might be up to normal again in about six weeks.

I would recommend trying to change, although it is very tough and frustrating the first couple days. I think you will be rewarded for the effort in acouple months.
