Kurze Ergänzung:

Bei Tempo 180 rast man mit 50 Metern pro Sekunde über die Bahn.

Fahre ich auch oft, aber ich weiß dann eben auch dass 2 Sekunden Unaufmerksamkeit zum Unfall führen können, wenn 100m vor mir was passiert (wenn auf zweispuriger Autobahn z.B. ein LKW zum überholen ansetzt).

Hohe Geschwindigkeit allein ist schon ein großes Risiko (insbesondere bei Regen => Aquaplaning), aber richtig gefährlich wirds, wenn man dann die Abstände nicht richtig einhält.

Klar liegt das sehr oft auch an den Leuten, die mit Tempo 100 auf die linke Spur ziehen, aber malo ehrlich:

Wer da dann nicht abbremst ist selbst schuld.

Immer dran denken: bei Tempo 200 muss man _mindestens_ 100m Abstand zum Vordermann einhalten!

Auch wenns schwer fällt bei Schleichern und Blinkmuffeln. :-(

alle schieben die Schuld immer auf die bösen raser, aber Mal ehrlich viel öfter werden Unfälle von sogenannten Bremsen verschuldet die ohne richtig zu gucken auf die linke spur ziehen.

I have driven in the rain there on the Autobahn, and it's obviously the micro small cars Hydroplaned out of control.

Heavy down bursts can easily cause this effect. More so on poor tires worn too far.

So settle down with the panic mode and look deeper at the vid.

Ich fahre durch ganz Europa und es ist erschreckend was ich so erlebe... letzte woche 1 lkw fahrer eingepennt und ins schleudern geraten , konnte gerade noch bremsen und der konnte seinen lkw auch gerade noch wieder stabilisieren ( war ein Tankzug) und naja die leitplanke kann man vergessen, ein tag später drängte mich einer fast in die leitplanken auch am steuer eingeschlafen...

i like germany,i have lived there for years but my wife(who is german) says herself that germany has some of the worst drivers anywhere.i see it day in day out when i go to work.i think over half dont know how to use a roundabout,three-quarters use their turn signal AFTER they turn(whats the point?) causing person behind to jam on the brakes cause they brake suddenly.everywhere in the world has bad drivers,not just germany and its not always speed related,just common sense needed!!!

Ich bin seit 3-4 Jahren jede Woche auf der A2 unterwegs und bin mir mittlerweile sicher, dass dort die größten Idioten der Nation rumfahren. ;-)

Ich erinnere mich noch an den Unfall auf der A2 mit einem Tankwagen der zwischen Braunschweig und Wolfsburg einen Brückenpfeiler mitgenommen hat und die ganze Brücke wegen Brandschäden abgerissen werden musste. Ich konnte vom Auto aus stundenlang die Rauchsäule beobachten bis wir umgeleiten wurden.

Actually, in Germany, there is the TÜV that look for the cars, so that old, wrecked cars don't even have a chance to make the road a dangerous place. But on some Autobahns we don't have no speed limit. Like a Opel Corsa can drive its 120mph and a Audi A8 caan drive its 155mph. And even if there's a Lamborghini with 200mph. who cares. And there are the most terrible accidents in Germany. But we can drive. Thanks.

Die A2. War einige Jahre lang regelmässig auf der A2 unterwegs. Hab dort genug Unfälle gesehen und war bei drei Unfällen mit Totesfällen dabei... Kann nur sagen, dass die meisten die da unterwegs sind rüchsichtslose, durchgeknallte und hirnamputierte Arschlöcher sind. Egal ob PKW oder LKW -Fahrer. Auf keiner anderen Autobahn in Deutschland ist mir das so heftig aufgefallen.

My experience is that slower drivers start to overtake other cars without checking their mirrors first. They're also estimate the speed differences with other drivers incorrectly. Non-Germans (Belgians, Dutch, etc.) make this error frequently and are often an annoying element on the autobahn.

Germans drive in a totaly different way then our other neighbours. They dutch are pussy's on the road. The French are kinda agressive and ignore most rules. We belgians like to drive fast but take most signs in credit. We have a very unique way of driving on a freeway. Germans on the other hand are unpredictable in everyway. Mainly on the autobahn we tend to forget that we're not in our country anymore.

@ Wimpie: Germans are very different drivers compared to other Europeans indeed. They follow the general rules more strict making them better drivers. French are reckless in not following rules, Dutch are slow and Belgian often overestimate themselves, also making them reckless. I thinks Germans are predictable once you adjust yourself to the habbits and rules of the autobahn. I can do this, but from my own experience on the road, many other Belgian, Dutch, etc. can't.

In Europe the worst is driving on French, Dutch and Lithuanian motorways : too many radars, stupid 120-130 km/h speed limits, and people respecting only these, but not the other rules. Driving on Czech and Spanish motorways is also boring. You can easily get asleep.

Polish motorways are a bit better to drive(the A2 and the A4)as the Polish cops aren't as exaggerately strict on that point, at least on 130 km/h-limited motorways.

Actually the right lane is for everyone. According to the driving code you are only allowed to use the other lanes for overtaking or yielding at a junction. Anyway its wrong to think the left lane is for fast drivers.
