  • Cute how the tank next door has another (snake?) watching the fun - looks hungry, too. :-)

  • My mothers friend brought one over to me that was found in her front yard, still a juvenile....beautiful snake...My first Venomous snake.

  • do u hold ur rattle i hold mine love urs i like my cobra better then my ratller

  • Where did you get the Pigmy Rattle snake? Ive been researching them for years and already have a Copperhead for my first beginner venomous snake and i have had it for 2 years but i cant seem to find where i can pick up a Pig Rattler. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • is it for looking at like a decoration? cos like you said when you comented on other peoples coments and also where do you live to be laws that allow a rattle snake cos i like in florida and where i live its illegal

  • what is that snake in the gage next to it

  • LOL. "Kiss of Death...."

  • it is weird seeing the venom kick in

  • awesome!!!. i havent done any research on it yet but where could i get a rattle snake without catching it myself?

  • Available on the web or reptile shows which deal with venomous stuff, like in Hamburg Pa on April 25 for instance. Be sure you're aware of local laws before you buy one.

  • my uncle almost sat on a rattle snake today but it didnt attack

  • Nice red miliarius miliarius

I have this snakes to, realy nice...

  • hey man how do you clean the tank without getting bitten? I'm assuming you don't handle the snake since its venemous.

  • You assumed correctly! Open the cage, hook the snake out into a 5 gal bucket, clean the cage and hook the snake back into the tank.

  • @turdburper haha Wow ur nuts! Ill keep my ball python, its easy :) but congrats on such a nice snake.

  • wow that was cool you can see he bit the mouse fast then the mouse completely shut down thats awsome stuff i mean nature is crazy but cool and interesting

  • thats sweeet. do you every hold the snake? I got a pet ball python

  • I never hold this snake. It's venomous. That would be dumb.

  • @turdburper it was a good question. lots of people handle "hot snakes" with their hands or hooks

  • thats COOL!!!

  • how much do they eat a week

how much do they cost to keep

how many "pigmys" u have or poisonis sankes

have u ever been bitten by eny?

  • It eats about once every 2 weeks. Snakes are cheap to keep pretty much after you buy the tank and bedding and food ocassionally. I have 3 pigmys, one Dusky, one Carolina and one Western pigmy. I've never been bitten by any venomous snakes (the word is venomous, not poisonous)

  • #1. At what point is the mouse dead? After he stops moving? Or is he paralyzed & eaten alive?

#2. Does the venom in the mouse get re-absorbed in the snake's system, or where does it go after the mouse is digested?

#3. What happens with the mouse's bones?

I'd like to have a snake, someday.

  • #1 - Its hard to say sometimes and depends on the snakes venom type. In this case, the venom affects the mouse's blood and muscles, so the mouse probably has a heart attack or massive hemorrhage inside. Not eaten alive. A cobra has a neurotoxic venom though, and it's possible it's prey get eaten while still conscious.

#2 & #3 - The snakes digestive system breaks down the venom, bones, hair, everything and very little comes out as fecal matter. Thanks for being curious!

  • would u ever considering it thought cause its laid back or still no cause like ya have u seen his/hers fangs

  • Absolutely not. Never. Ever.

  • have u ever been bite and if so does it hurt and did u need to go to the hospital?

when u walk buy the tank do they snape at u?

    how much do they cost

arent u scared it will get out and possibly eat u lol

  • No, I've never been bitten. If they bite, YES it hurts, you'd have to go to the hospital.

No, they dont snap at the tank when I walk by, she's pretty laid back actually. They cost around $200 right now. I'm not afraid it'll get out of the tank, it's secure. It cant "eat me", it's only about 10 inches long.

  • even tho its a rattle snake can u hold it lol and i think ur crazy to have a rattle snake tho lol

  • I absolutely do not handle my venomous snakes at all. There's no reason to. I use snakehooks and tongs to manage them.

  • im looking to get one of these, what are they like to keep? how snappy? etc, great vid btw =)

  • Well, it's venomous, so I treat all my venomous the same. With extreme caution. Overkill I'd say. It's a fairly calm snake though in the cage, it doesnt freak out when I'm near the tank. It's a vicious eater though. All snakes are different though. Prices on carolina pigmys are coming down a bit too. I have a buddy who has some Ga. locale animals, but I dont think he's got any to sell right now.

  • ah i see thanks for the info man!

  • kick ass song in the back ground.

  • where do you get the rattle snakes from

    good video

  • lol awsome vid man

  • Thanks! I'm a bit.......twisted, I know

  • hey bro,im twisted too.

  • cool pet, but what if the cage was knocked over or something, and the rattlesnake was let loose?

  • that killed it quik

  • look at my video response and let me know if you think I had a wild encounter with a pigmy rattler at Caledesi Island near Clearwater Beach, somebody told me it was, but since you have one you would be able to tell.

  • sweet

  • Uh.. did I miss the actual death bite?

  • You must have, it happens around the 10-11 second mark.

  • Holy crap, that's what that was! Wow. How long did it take for the mouse to die from the venom?

  • I remember I had to edit the video because it got too big, so I cut out the long dying scene of the mouse. IIRC it was something like 5 minutes. I've had that snake for YEARS and it's never been interested in prekilled food. I wish it would at least try it once or twice hehe. It would save me a lot of trouble since I have about 500 frozen mice in my freezer.

  • Heh, wow. Last year I captured a small constrictor; I think it was some sort of corn snake. I bought a couple of pinkies to feed it, but it wound up eating while I wasn't watching, which was a bummer. I let the snake go after several days, since my cat was terrified of it, and I knew it would be better off in the wild. Besides, I personally don't really have the heart to feed one creature to another, even if the former -is- already dead and frozen. :P

  • What a cocky little mouse! He was rolling in the aspen with a deadly snake a foot away from him!

  • he wasnt rolling in the aspen..lol he was convulsing from the venom shutting down his system lil by lil.... cool snake
