CONT- Essentially, what I'm saying is that all wishing to come to Australia should be more than welcome and they should be allowed to teach and practice anything they like, providing that they promise to abide by the values we hold here. I visited my old home town 2 weeks ago. The suburb two up is very differennt. I used to know heaps of friends there and it was my football club. Facts: Most if these asylum seekers or refugees when on transit in Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur they live in comfort. They do not want to stay forever in Jakarta or Kuala Lumpur not because it is not a good place to live because they want better, modern and comfortable western lifestyles. They consider KL or Jakarta as 3rd world or 2nd Class place. When they stay in KL or Jakarta you can see them shopping around and it shows that they have money. They are not poor people.

Has research ever been done to find out life of refugees after 10 year or so, because I have seen succesful business man and woman who said that they arrived in Australia by boat.

I had to change country of residence 4 times in my not so long life. There is one rule I always obeyed, if you come to another country, you respect its laws and its culture. As Australia's population grows by birth rate/skilled immigration (which it is doing), 1% becomes a larger number. So more refugees can come and still only be 1%. High school maths, k?

How racist of you. Australia doesn't have set culture and traditions, except that of the Aborigines which was cut down by the settlers. Things can change, you know. If you don't want to lose your culture and identity, you probably shouldn't watch American TV either.

I am immigrant of middle eastern origin myself, and it pisses me of to see people like you you reject their origins. Even letters we use to communicate come from latin alphabet, which in turn comes from greek, which in turn comes from phoenetian.

You let the 20000 boat people in then next year it will be 50000. the year after that 100000 and so on. And then you you have to house all these people. so what happens is they end up building gettos for these people they can't get work so they become a drain on the tax payer. the start turning to crime and so on. and Australia turns into a dump of a country
