  • @bababoum Love the police but if you think all musicians now are not talented, you better go do some searching, there are plenty of artists and bands out now that are amazing.

  • @Aliendear Irony and Sarcasm not your strongest point then...

  • They dont make music like they use to, thats for damn sure. What we constitute as "music" today is just alot of senseless noise.

  • @PureEXCELLANCE they really do, you just have to look for it

  • @PureEXCELLANCE -- got that right. to quote Richard Vernon from "The Breakfast Club" -- "One of these days, THESE KIDS are gonna be running the country."

  • @PureEXCELLANCE

I COULD NOT AGREE WITH ANY MORE! A cacophony of noise that's not fit to listen to too. Now this, on the other hand is real music by real musicians.

You sir, deserve a thumbs-up for that comment!

  • @PureEXCELLANCE You know whats funny?? My dad said the same thing to me one day in 1967 when I was jamming to the "White Album"....

  • perfekt song !

    super!

  • I often wonder what this group could have done given another decade - they were legends after a handful of albums

  • The guitar makes me think or just sounds like a duck. Is it only me?

  • @unbelivableLP

    pretty sure that's just you.

  • Man. They should play this at Colberts "March To Keep Fear Alive".

  • They dont know what good music is

  • everyone thinks im crazy because i dont listen to modern music like eminem or other people

  • @Ulysses447 fuk em! your good lol!

  • Im only in the sixth grade and i listen to this music i love the police

  • before the 'sting'

  • Tudo a ver com Firenza, Gripe e Canários...

Esse clipe é totalmente sem noção!

  • I remember seeing them perform this live in '83 ... an awesome gig.

  • @FloydyTube no you didn't.

  • During the recording of Zenyatta, I heard Sting buried one of Andy Summer's demos in the backyard of the studio. I wish he did that for the song "Mother" on the Synchronicity album

  • @all028 great track "mother", some great guitar work ...every track is great ...

  • Stupid video, good song. I hate Sting.

  • @johnnydarkly Can't hate sting if you love the Police, wouldn't be the same with one missing.

  • @unbelivableLP i was not happy when he went solo that made me h8 him. i felt my fun teen years die. but got to see them back 2gether in 07. im :) again

  • This is one of those songs that I cant listen to over and over and over again.

  • ANDY SUMMERS!!!!!! FKING LEGEND!@

  • I heard this song on the radio today...wasnt sure if it was "Canary in a coal mine" or "larry in a coma"

  • @MinaMcKay LOL!!! When I first heard this song years ago, I too, always thought he was singing "coma" also!

  • @SHRINA17 LOL glad Im not the only one XD

  • @SHRINA17 my friends kids did also lol!

  • what albums were this song from?

  • @bebaslepas This song is on the album - "Zenyatta Mondatta" I have it on Vinyl, YAY!

  • If I had to tell someone to go "like music," I sure as crap wouldn't send them Away from The Police or Sting and send them to Tweenyville to follow the Joe Bros. That's like saying, God sucks. You should go listen to Thumper McBibleThumper hollering on a street corner. GET REAL!

  • Wtf is sting doing at the start?

  • Ska! Short but sweet :)

  • awesome!

  • sting taught me everything about bass i needed to know - the rest i got from michael rutherford

  • alegre cancion

  • Seen 'em in concert twice back in the '80's.They were the only group (I have seen),that sounded just as good live,as recorded.I can't count the number of cassettes I wore out of these guys.Thank You Linkian.

  • What a classic, this song makes me wanna go to an arabic party. :D

  • Love this song, love this album even more Zenyatta for everyone!!!!!!

  • Now if I tell you that you suffer from dillusion, you pay your analyst to reach the same conclusion. You live your life like a canary in a coalmine, you get so dizzy even walkin' on a straight line..

  • Me and my bestie always go on the deck, set up a CD player and food and a bean bag chair. Then we listen to this on replay for EVER

  • Love it. This is from the Police movie.

  • I always get happy when I listen to this amazing talented band. Much underrated in my opinion.

Andy is great he plays his guitar amazingly!

  • Each has their own style. I love the Police!

  • One of the sickest trios of musicians to ever unite.

  • Dare I write... more technically proficient than Rush? No? OK, sorry.

  • @beowulven Neil Peart and Stuart Copeland are on the same level IMO.

  • I can't disagree with that.

  • @KipArmadillo You are 100% correct on this. Thanks for posting.

  • cool:-) the first album from the West in the 80's years in my country

  • ahhh....I miss when music was actually "good" and "original".....

  • i didnt know the police did this song. awsoommmee

  • I always am puzzled by the meaning of the title...so help me out...

It is common practice for coal miners to bring birds (particularly Canaries) inside coal mines. If they stoppped chirping (meaning the birds are suffocating, worse dead) it means the place have toxic gasses. Which tells the miners to get out of that place...

    Please confirm...Thanks

By the way, this is my favorite Police track. I always laugh when I try to sing along - a mouthful of lyrics I must say....Thanks!!!

  • LOL Same. I try so hard too xD

  • yea thats right

  • You're right - a Canary's breathing rate and sensitivity to methane and other gases causes them to suffocate much quicker than a human. Love the first line: First to fall over when the atmosphere is less than perfect. Great song!

  • They don't do that anymore at least not in the United States. They used to though, they have technology now that can detect the gases.

  • they are so GREAT!!! xD I just love the lyrics<3

  • One of my most favorite songs by The Police.

Knocked me out when I first heard it...my dad had this tape with a bunch of songs by Police. I think I was about 10. Wow.

  • The Police are the shit. Period.

  • @mnije no, The Police are no shit, great new wave, but i agree with you, in this period Police was already a mainstream band.

  • @mnije then why the fuk are you watching their videos and they're better than anything you listin to...go listin to the wiggles and the joe bro's tell me when you start to like music...ok?

  • @mnije the lice are the shit.

  • @mnije Damn Straght! Thanks to my teacher Mr. DeRose I now know them Better!

  • @mnije shit* not the shit.

  • @mnije your a fag this song kicks ass they used it in Just Go With It how

  • I made cupcakes for Sting because tomorrow is his birthday. Yay! The Police were incredible. I'm an older teen, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE their music. Thus far in life, Stewart Copeland is my favorite drummer. What a tight sound this band maintained. Sorry, but I felt the need to ramble about my endless fascination and love for the band. And mention that I made cupcakes for Sting. :-)

  • *g* I love this comment - and I share your fascination! : )

  • No one is better than the Police. That's all. :)

  • The Police, to me, is much better the MJ. O _ o I love them so. Sting, Andy, and Stew. (LL) You see, I've always liked them, my mom was a child, she was a PoliceMan, and I guess it runs. XD

  • I was addicted to this song when I was younger, played it over and over. I've still got the LP somewhere

  • only sting can make a song about a bird and a coal mine and make a million. rock on strange man!!

  • Well canaires were often used in coal mines. They stop chirping and the oxygen levels are low. That was a common practice.

  • @5Toesss They stopped chirping because they died. That's what told the miners to get the hell out!

  • They never played this song enough on the radio.

  • Really? I've heard this before few minutes on radio Beat, Czech republic ;)

  • i get so happy when hear this song And Sting is SUPER COOL

  • this song is ska gold

  • Michael Jackson was an entertainer turned child molester. No way he was better than The Police. Gary Glitter maybe, but not The Police.

  • word, apples and oranges. lovewon.

  • The Police would piss and shit all over Mj. The only thing that is obselete is your brain mate. Mj was good I'll give you that noone would dispute that but the Police were in another league. You should be arrested!

  • One of my favorites on my all-time favorite album, Zenyatta Mondatta.

  • i think sting is cute!!!!!

  • i heard this song for the first time today, i thought the lyrics were "Mary in a Coma" lmao.

  • who are the two fighting at the beginning of the video? i love the song by the way.

  • it looks like andy summers and stewart copeland

  • ive heard that sting and Stewart would fight a lot and sting once got his rib broke

  • yeah, thats why the band is no longer together. sadly...I miss them

  • It certainly looks like Stu. Can't tell the other guy. Your call's as good as mine.

  • the other is sting. You can tell b/c the one trying to break them up has a Carma around his neck and that would be Andy

  • @smj0yce77 Copeland and Sting :)

  • @smj0yce77 The two fighting at the beginning are drummer Stewart Copeland and his late brother Ian Copeland. The third guy is Police manager Miles Copeland.
