I had the same condition, found advice through Google and then found this video to demonstrate procedure. Worked perfectly! Though I went a lot slower because I was afraid of burning myself. And I had a tall shot of Vodka standing by. Thanks for the help. Now I can actually sleep again.

I did this about 3 years ago when I got my finger smashed with a car door. My bf thought I was crazy for doing it, but it felt much better. Infact I even did it to my 9 years old niece!

I did this today, it does kinda take balls I won't lie, but you do it once, doing it again is no prob at all, it's only wack the first time, and it is GOD send, the my pin was a lot smaller though (I was using a poppy pin if you know what that is) so I poked 3 holes in my finger, last one didn't bleed and the pin fused with the nail. nuff said.

Bummer. My Thai friend that helped me with this first had the brilliant idea to burn a bunch of holes all the way across the nail in order to pull the whole thing off. It took a bit more explaining to make sure he understood that wasn't the best way about it before I let him continue. o_O

I had to go to the doctor to get that done, except he drilled the holes instead of melting them and the swelling was back ten minutes later. It freaking sucked.
