Modern day pathetic reality show vs. A timeless masterpiece like "Northern Exposure " ? Oh man.. Did I just compare those 2 in the same sentence??? My bad. Well seeing as how there is nothing worthwhile on to watch I guess I'll see if "Bristol Palin's" reality show will be airing anytime soon..Because yah, thats worth watching right ? Nothing will ever beat the atmosphere or the lessons learned better then that of Cicely Alaska!

One of the best if not the best series ever produced on Television. TV today makes ya' sick compared to what once was. Northern Exposure when you watched it had the capability of making you think that by the time you got to episodes end that you walked away from the show having had learned something. I think alot of people got alot out of the show and no show has been comparable since. Other then then Northern Lights sequence that was one of my favorite scenes! Northern Exposure lives on!

@Somethinzfishy You are right. I learned a lot about the world from watching Norther Exposure. Lots of little things and big ideas as well. It helped me form my political ideas for one, and I learned what C.V. meant in episode 3.1 from Adam. I think it was that episode where he mentioned it.

This show should be taught as the gold standard at every film school in the country.

Best series that will ever exist!!! One day I'll save up to buy all seasons on dvd. I know the music is changed on some of them, so thank goodness I can convert the scenes with the original songs from my old vhs tapes to dvd. It's a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL series. I pity anyone that doesn't watch this work or art.

I'm only 18 so I was never able to watch this series on tv. A few months ago I bought the first two seasons because it was only $18 at Amoeba records, I was hooked immediately and I'm going to go buy the sixth season today to complete my collection and find out how this show ends

John Cullum's soliliquy, to me anyway, is the definition of real manhood. That with Enya playing in the background and the whole "journey" theme made this episode my favorite of my favorite series of all time.

I agree with the comments about about there being no current TV shows that compare with the magic and sheer beauty of Northern Exposure....its messages of hope and redemption...there are no mass media out there that cares about such matters its alll geared up for doom and gloom with celebrity being the aspiration of a high % of school children.....what a legacy ....Northern Exposure is like Vincent too beautiful for this world....
