@3DeepCuts I'm not a noob, My computer has not had real time scanning for about three years and I have not had any problems. I scan my computer 2 or three times a week and just avoid sites and activity that is most likely going to get me a virus or other malware.

Just a tip for who ever reads this. if you have a highly infected pc like this one get advance system care free or pro doesn't matter, go to utilities and run the shortcut fixer. it deletes all the broken shortcuts to get rid of all the icons viruses leaves behind after removal

i have a google virus.. (when i click a search result link in google or any other search website it redirects me to an ad site)

and i cleaned my comp with ad aware and did everything any website said i could do to get rid of it. anyone have any ideas?

spybot does hosts file fixing if your wondering.. ccleaner would be also another program to add on the list of good things to throw on as these 4 programs should keep a pc running smoothly.

It would be nice to also test with avira (on high heuristics) last after using both SaS and MBAM. I would like to see if there is anything (more towards the virus spectrum) that is missed by both.

MBAM and SAS are in the same class while AV software and all in one suites are not .

A very good test would be to test MBAM and SAS against confirmed AV failures because that is what they are developed to do .

I can't speak for SAS but as the lead researcher for MBAM I have chosen Antivir to be our recomended AV for a number of factors , detection rate and low system impact most importantly .

Do you recommend Kaspersky 2009? Im using it in my vista laptop. I tried MBAM before but the Windows Security Center said that only Kaspersky was running. ( at that time my kaspersky is not active because the license is blacklisted, so i decided to use MBAM until i got another license). Oh, not to forget, I downloaded the EICAR test file to my desktop, scan using MBAM, but nothing found.

KAV and NOD32 tie for #2 on my recommended AV list .

MBAM does not integrate into windows security yet , this is on the todo list though .

EICAR (and all current test trojans) are so far behind what you see in the wild that adding detection for them is completely useless . What we do plan to do is create new test trojans with powerful cloaking and removal prevention tech so the test will actually mean something , we do not have a date for when this will happen .
