I saw a program about the universe the other day that proposed that there may be more than one universe, maybe existing side by side, or maybe existing in the same plane at the same time, just off phase of one another (carrier frequency may have to do with string vibration). Physicists think that the universes can bump into one another and the lesion created may be a wormhole. And, infinite alternate universes may simply be time choice branches from a common beginning.
