@jasonsadventure Two years ago today, President Obama signed into law a “stimulus package” that his administration promised would keep unemployment under 8 percent. What has been the result of nearly $1 trillion spent on the so-called “stimulus?” Twenty-one months of unemployment at or above 9 percent, 2.6 million jobs lost, unsustainable budget deficits and an ever-growing national debt.
@wii: Obama's 'stimulus' did not stop the job losses. The losses leveled off because those businesses figured out how many jobs they could shed vs productivity and stay viable.
The 'stimulus' went to police, teacher and other service jobs that do not produce. That's like a failing company investing in trainers and security guards instead of engineers, builders and inventory.
Obama was in the Senate for 2 years beforehand, he's responsible for the economy too. Stop excusing him.
No stimulus could stop job loss. Jobs are being lost everywhere and it would take billions upon billions to fix it all. I tell Classique46 a little common sense and you say :"Stop excusing him?" Say,do you happen to have your birth certificate on you?
@Teikiatsu its funny how stupid people really are..jason needs to get a job have a kid or two..."after getting married".lol..and see how the democrats treat his pocketbook.
@Classique46 I've never seen your certificate does that not make you a citizen(have you tried Google)? Why do you hate him? He reduced job loss from 700,000 a month to 20,000 a month. It must be over-frustration. Well, Obama's frustrated too. He's got an army of problems staring him in the face and you weaken support for him? But the first such protests were just 3 weeks after he took office; before he laid a finger.
We can't let bunch of ill-zealed Republicans control the good natured right wingers who want to help this country. They
manipulate vicious-circle politics to get their way. They care more about who sits where and when in a big white building with a dome on top. Luckily, yesterday the Senate passed a jobs bill 70-28 that would create 250,000 jobs. Those Republicans who voted for it crossed party lines to do the right thing. We must say no to the game of Political Dominance.
there is no way this 'health care bill' will work i mean we are already in a resesion so why spend millions of dollors on a bill that NO ONE WANTS it makes no sence we need the money to pay china ,and what is with the raising taxes it has been proven by 2 NOT 1 BUT 2 presidents that lowering taxes gets us out of the resision lower taxes then we have money to stimulate the economy insted of SCREWING OVER all the people who spent there money well how can a 11 year old girl know this and not obama
2/25/10: Obama presented a new health care plan on Monday that calls for raising the Medicare payroll tax on some households earning less than $250,000, an apparent breach of his campaign pledge not to raise taxes on families earning less than that amount. Obama's plan also calls for increasing taxes on interest, dividends, annuities, royalties and rents...
In a September 12, 2008, campaign speech in Dover, N.H., Obama said: "And I can make a firm pledge: Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 will see their taxes increase—not your income taxes, not your payroll taxes, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes." ...
...But the new health care plan released in summary form Monday by the White House specifically calls for increasing the Medicare payroll tax on "households with incomes exceeding $200,000 for singles and $250,000 for married couples filing jointly." ...
Unless Obama is prepared to say that the only type of "family" that qualifies as a "family" under his tax pledge is one that is formed around a "married couple filing jointly," then his new health care proposal violates his 2008 tax pledge on its face...
The Internal Revenue Service, for example, makes clear that the "head of household" tax filing status is for unmarried taxpayers. A definition of the term "head of household" on the IRS Web site says: "Generally, you may claim head of household filing status on your tax return only if you are unmarried and pay more than 50% of the costs of keeping up a home for yourself and your dependent-(s) or other qualifying individuals." ...
The White House posted Obama's tax increase proposal as part of the summary of the new health-care "reform" bill he is proposing. "Under current law, workers who earn a salary pay a flat tax of 1.45% of their wages to support the Medicare Hospital Insurance (HI) trust fund, but those who have substantial unearned income do not, raising issues of fairness," says the summary of Title IX of Obama's proposal...
"The Act will include an additional 0.9 percentage point Hospital Insurance tax for households with incomes exceeding $200,000 for singles and $250,000 for married couples filing jointly. In addition, it would add a 2.9% tax for such 'high-income' households to unearned income including interest, dividends, annuities, royalties and rents (excluding income from active participation in S corporations)."' ...

the health care bill is virtually the same as the republican bill in 1993 that was presented as an alternative to clinton's effort. if democrats brought back the republican bill, there would be a headline, "republicans reject republican health care bill."
From Kaiser Health News: "In 1993, at the height of President Bill Clinton's health care reform initiative, Sen. John Chafee, R-R.I., along with 19 other Republicans and two Democrats, put forth a bill which was considered the major GOP proposal. One of the co-sponsors was then-Sen. Dave Durenberger, R-Minn. The bill, just like the Democratic version, never passed. But in a sense, it's been revived this year."
"In fact, the key provisions in the Chafee bill may seem familiar, as they bear a strong resemblance to those in the current Democratic Senate bill, and now in President Barack Obama's proposal. A mandate that individuals buy insurance, subsidies for the poor to buy insurance and the requirement that insurers offer a standard benefits package and refrain from discriminating based on pre-existing conditions were all in the 1993 GOP bill."
@markthatsastupididea so republicans planned to make private/no insurance a national felony and force non-participants to pay $250,000 or do jail time, too?? So the republicans tried to make it so that the speaker of the house, the president, and the senate all had full immunity under the bill??

We can't let an "ill-zealed" Republican control the good hearted right-winger who wants to do something for his country. We don't have have room in this country for politicians who are more concerned about who sits in what chair in the Senate and House chambers than what the American people need. Luckily, today with a 70-28 approval, Republicans like Scott Brown crossed party lines to vote for a bill that would create 250,000 jobs. "Vicious-circle" Republicans, your gig is up.
America wants Obama to scrap his tyrannical bill. Republicans want Obama to scrap his tyrannical bill. So, look at that, Republicans are protecting the interests of the American people.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I am part of that United States that you are bringing up, I'd like to not have to worry so much about the health care and just see what we can get done a safe and still efficient pace. I think calling it a tyrannical bill when it can be voted done as many republicans have been doing is a large overstatement. Please put some thought into the rest of the country and not just the George crowd with the rest of your GOP. Thanks.
No rebuttal? Of course not, I'm like your buddy McCain except you all disagree with me. Something do w/ healthcare and Florida.... Nevermind. Keep rating me down, because that really helps proves im the bad guy. I just think we're talking... Something both sides should do... RIGHT, right wingers?
2/24/10: Did you think that, because Obama has called for a "bipartisan healthcare reform summit" on February 25th, that the Democrats were serious about starting over and including the Republicans' ideas in their plans? WRONG! ...
According to liberal bastionThe New York Times, "President Obama will put forward comprehensive health care legislation intended to bridge differences between Senate and House Democrats ahead of a summit meeting with Republicans next week, senior administration officials and Congressional aides said Thursday." But that's not all they're reporting...
Democratic officials said the president's proposal was being written so that it could be attached to a budget bill as a way of averting a Republican filibuster in the Senate. The procedure, known as budget reconciliation, would let Democrats advance the bill with a simple majority rather than a 60-vote supermajority...
So, in other words, Obama is lying about compromising on his healthcare plans, and Reid and Pelosi are preparing to use a parliamentary trick to ram ObamaCare down the throats of the American people...
Here's the "trick" that Obama, Pelosi and Reid are planning to use to ram ObamaCare through: it's called "reconciliation." As the Wall Street Journal explains, "House Democrats would pass a series of 'fixes' to the Senate bill...
The Senate would then pass the House reconciliation bill, sending amendments to President Obama to a bill that -- strictly speaking -- didn't exist, because it hadn't yet emerged from the House. The House would then retroactively pass the Senate bill as is." So by using the "reconciliation" process, the Senate will only need 51 votes to pass their socialized healthcare bill...
Regardless of the fact that the biggest reason Republican Scott Brown was elected to Ted Kennedy's old Senate seat was because he promised to help kill ObamaCare -- Democrats are still willing to use more corrupt tactics to get it passed...
In fact, the liberals on the far left have their own interpretation of why Brown won: "people want more change... bolder change... more populism... and the public option is that in this healthcare fight." They state very clearly that the socialized healthcare "public option" is "back on the table" and will be passed by using the "reconciliation process" -- because [in their minds], that's what "Americans want." ...
It's just plain insulting that the Democrats would be having a "bipartisan" summit down at the White House if they've already decided on this other process by which they're going to jam the bill through Congress...
How stupid do they think the American people are? Are they serious about using this trick to pass their bill? You BET they are. Nancy Pelosi, on a conference call with bloggers, said, "We will not be deterred from this course of getting something done one way or another, and I'm hoping it will... be mainly by passing the comprehensive bill. That's our plan." ...
Charles Rangel (D-New York) stated that they are looking to start the process soon, and that he believed both chambers could muster the votes needed for passage, despite virtually unanimous GOP opposition. And Harry Reid said a scenario in which the House produces a reconciliation package "seems like a strong possibility." ...
In fact, As of Thursday afternoon, 17 Senate Democrats were pushing Reid to use reconciliation rules to sidestep a Republican filibuster of health care reform. (We CAN still stop ObamaCare, by STOPPING the Democrats from using the "reconciliation" parliamentary trick.)...
It's obvious that Obama and House and Senate Democrats intend their proposed "healthcare reform summit" as a public display and NOT a genuine dialogue. But their game has been exposed...
Senate Republican Whip Jon Kyl of Arizona told CNN that "they've devised the process by which they can jam the bill through that the president has supported in the past, without Republican ideas in it." But the problem, Kyl said, is that "reconciliation is not the process for comprehensive bills like this. It's for balancing the budget." ...
We CANNOT let the radical liberals in Congress -- and the White House -- force this plan for socialized health care on the American people! You can send a strong message to every single member of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, OPPOSING this outrageous plan...
Send Blast Faxes to Democrats, Republicans, Independents -- EVERYONE in BOTH houses of Congress, DEMANDING that they REJECT this socialized health care plan! This fight CAN BE WON! You can take action right away to STOP this bill in the U.S. Congress! Also, the phone number for Congress is 202-224-3121. Let your Congressmen and Congresswomen know about your OPPOSITION to socialized, government run health care!!!
hahaha, government takeover of health care? there's no public option in the bill, and if there was, that's still not a government takeover, unless you think the post office is a government takeover of UPS.
You're analogy is ridiculous. If the government decided that they were going to: tell UPS how much they could charge; who they were going to serve; and how they were do do both, that would very much be a government takeover of UPS. And the fact that the USPS still existed would in no way negate the fact.
I'm confused, I thought his entire focus was going to be on job creation? This is taking time away from his focus on job creation. AND I'm not talking about government jobs or temporary ditch digger jobs.
Please STOP HATING!!! You're only digging yourself a bigger and deeper hole with the world and you don't even realize it. What you're saying is fine, it's the way you're saying it. You still try to use fear to convince Americans that you're right. Using this tactic makes people feel like they're children afraid of the everything. America is young, but not that young.
The Healthcare bill has problems, but saying it's a governmental takeover is quite ridiculous. Stop being a hater RNC!!
This is another deceitful add. How the heck is this a government take over of health care? There isn't even a public option any more. Obama is doing everything he can to compromise to the republican side of things and there are still people who refuse any sort of co-operation. How can hostile adds like this represent anyone with self respect? Let move forward please.
Your response in no way answered my challenge to you. So I'll simply take that as the proof I need that you can't actually defend reconcilliation as bi-partisanship.
Reconciliation isn't bipartisanship.. it's a simple majority move both parties use when there's no chance at a 60-vote super majority. remember the GOP using it for medicare part D?
Remember what happened to the GOP in the very next election cycle, after they used reconciliation? No, they didn't lose control of congress just because soo many hippies out there couldn't stomach being at war with Iraq.
"In other words, even with over a year to prepare for the moment they would finally release their own plan, the White House could only manage toobtain an "incomplete" grade from the official budget scorekeeper in Washington. So every time you hear the President say "my plan is paid
for" or "myplan reduces the deficit," just remember you are going to have to take his word for it."

as i said, ur either a simple liar or in a hate-twisted haze & can't or won't tell the difference between facts & lies
it's a fact
1- the country was loosing 750k/months when obama took over
2- we're not loosing jobs, we're making them
3- obama saved chrysler & gm & millions of associated jobs
4- obama continued bush's tarp, saving the financial system

@jasonsadventure Two years ago today, President Obama signed into law a “stimulus package” that his administration promised would keep unemployment under 8 percent. What has been the result of nearly $1 trillion spent on the so-called “stimulus?” Twenty-one months of unemployment at or above 9 percent, 2.6 million jobs lost, unsustainable budget deficits and an ever-growing national debt.
lol keep trying kid...obama is a cancer
wogdoggy 11 months ago
@wogdoggy
1. w/ less than 4 weeks in office, obama enacted historic $787B arra ($288B in tax cuts) - fact
2. the bush collapse obliterated 6 million jobs before the stimulus even started - fact
3. no one "promised" unemployment would stay 8% - that is a lie.
4. no president in history has turned a 3.7% recession into growth in less than 2 years - fact
5. the gop wrecks our economic car
6. and complain obama is cleaning up their wreckage fast enough
that's the real joke

@wii: Obama's 'stimulus' did not stop the job losses. The losses leveled off because those businesses figured out how many jobs they could shed vs productivity and stay viable.
The 'stimulus' went to police, teacher and other service jobs that do not produce. That's like a failing company investing in trainers and security guards instead of engineers, builders and inventory.
Obama was in the Senate for 2 years beforehand, he's responsible for the economy too. Stop excusing him.

those with neither the knowledge, intellect nor demeanor resort to attacking the source
being unable to make a winning rational argument.
u say, "stupid" while not displaying any intelligence
u say, "get a job" or or "he's liberal" in a banal attempt to hide a weak argument with an irrelevant inflammatory one.
answer me this, who taps what from ur "pocketbook" & where does it go?

The White House posted Obama's tax increase proposal as part of the summary of the new health-care "reform" bill he is proposing. the health care bill is virtually the same as the republican bill in 1993 that was presented as an alternative to clinton's effort. if democrats brought back the republican bill, there would be a headline, "republicans reject republican health care bill."

But in a sense, it's been revived this year."
markthatsastupididea 1 year ago

Well that doesn't sound like them at all O.o

We can't let an "ill-zealed" Republican control the good hearted right-winger who wants to do something for his country. We don't have have room in this country for politicians who are more concerned about who sits in what chair in the Senate and House chambers than what the American people need. 2/24/10: Did you think that, because Obama has called for a "bipartisan healthcare reform summit" on February 25th, that the Democrats were serious about starting over and including the Republicans' ideas in their plans? WRONG! ...
buddy34 1 year ago
According to liberal bastionThe New York Times, "President Obama will put forward comprehensive health care legislation intended to bridge differences between Senate and House Democrats ahead of a summit meeting with Republicans next week, senior administration officials and Congressional aides said Thursday." But that's not all they're reporting...
buddy34 1 year ago
Democratic officials said the president's proposal was being written so that it could be attached to a budget bill as a way of averting a Republican filibuster in the Senate. The procedure, known as budget reconciliation, would let Democrats advance the bill with a simple majority rather than a 60-vote supermajority...
buddy34 1 year ago
So, in other words, Obama is lying about compromising on his healthcare plans, and Reid and Pelosi are preparing to use a parliamentary trick to ram ObamaCare down the throats of the American people...
buddy34 1 year ago
Here's the "trick" that Obama, Pelosi and Reid are planning to use to ram ObamaCare through: it's called "reconciliation." As the Wall Street Journal explains, "House Democrats would pass a series of 'fixes' to the Senate bill...
buddy34 1 year ago
The Senate would then pass the House reconciliation bill, sending amendments to President Obama to a bill that -- strictly speaking -- didn't exist, because it hadn't yet emerged from the House. The House would then retroactively pass the Senate bill as is." So by using the "reconciliation" process, the Senate will only need 51 votes to pass their socialized healthcare bill...
buddy34 1 year ago
Regardless of the fact that the biggest reason Republican Scott Brown was elected to Ted Kennedy's old Senate seat was because he promised to help kill ObamaCare -- Democrats are still willing to use more corrupt tactics to get it passed...
buddy34 1 year ago
In fact, the liberals on the far left have their own interpretation of why Brown won: "people want more change... bolder change... more populism... and the public option is that in this healthcare fight." They state very clearly that the socialized healthcare "public option" is "back on the table" and will be passed by using the "reconciliation process" -- because [in their minds], that's what "Americans want." ...
buddy34 1 year ago
It's just plain insulting that the Democrats would be having a "bipartisan" summit down at the White House if they've already decided on this other process by which they're going to jam the bill through Congress...
buddy34 1 year ago
How stupid do they think the American people are? Are they serious about using this trick to pass their bill? You BET they are. Nancy Pelosi, on a conference call with bloggers, said, "We will not be deterred from this course of getting something done one way or another, and I'm hoping it will... be mainly by passing the comprehensive bill. That's our plan." ...
buddy34 1 year ago
Charles Rangel (D-New York) stated that they are looking to start the process soon, and that he believed both chambers could muster the votes needed for passage, despite virtually unanimous GOP opposition. And Harry Reid said a scenario in which the House produces a reconciliation package "seems like a strong possibility." ...
buddy34 1 year ago
In fact, As of Thursday afternoon, 17 Senate Democrats were pushing Reid to use reconciliation rules to sidestep a Republican filibuster of health care reform. (We CAN still stop ObamaCare, by STOPPING the Democrats from using the "reconciliation" parliamentary trick.)...
buddy34 1 year ago
It's obvious that Obama and House and Senate Democrats intend their proposed "healthcare reform summit" as a public display and NOT a genuine dialogue. But their game has been exposed...
buddy34 1 year ago
Senate Republican Whip Jon Kyl of Arizona told CNN that "they've devised the process by which they can jam the bill through that the president has supported in the past, without Republican ideas in it." But the problem, Kyl said, is that "reconciliation is not the process for comprehensive bills like this. It's for balancing the budget." ...

hahaha, government takeover of health care? there's no public option in the bill, and if there was, that's still not a government takeover, unless you think the post office is a government takeover of UPS.
markthatsastupididea 1 year ago
You're analogy is ridiculous. If the government decided that they were going to: tell UPS how much they could charge; who they were going to serve; and how they were do do both, that would very much be a government takeover of UPS. And the fact that the USPS still existed would in no way negate the fact.

You still try to use fear to convince Americans that you're right. Using this tactic makes people feel like they're children afraid of the everything. America is young, but not that young.
The Healthcare bill has problems, but saying it's a governmental takeover is quite ridiculous. Stop being a hater RNC!!
