  • wow...I logged in after a very long time and noticed my comment I made 2 years ago! How quickly we loose time..it's been a long hard road, but I can honestly say now that the decision to divorce, as devastating as it was for me and my girls, was probably the right decision.

Life has a way of working itself out...just takes time.

  • i espcially love her voice at the end when she sings god i wish he was still with me again

  • Reba just made a video of this song with Van and Cheyenne from the show, who got a divorce and have to share the kids every other weekend. I can't WAIT to see it! I'm sure it's going to be awesome!

  • this song touches feeling that i know i still have and its something that i have to look up to even though i went through this myswelf with my mom and dad and now i'm going through this with my wife. that hurts

  • I heard this song the other day while I was with my boyfriend and my son. It really made me think about things. Even though my son does not see his father (that choice was up to his father) but it still made me think about alot of things. Just knowing what my son will be going though when he gets older.

  • as a child of divorced parents i love this song and i think parents dont think about what we (the chlidren) go through when they split. but we all know its the best. i miss the old times......

  • I have two daughters with my ex. We were best friends Until he raised his hand to me while I was holding our first and pregnant with our second. As much as I want to hate him I cant. I look at our daughters and see his face every time. I miss my best friend. He's over me and that's where we are. Married and a daughter with his new wife. I still love him.

  • That was stupid not to make a video for this song on CMT or whatever.

  • They did lol!

  • I heard this song yesterday as I was pulling into the parking lot to pick my son up.

Kids have it hard enough as it is and we as adults seem to find away to mess it up for them I would wish this on no one but realy a true song

  • well...here I am one month later since I first heard this song, and it hasn't gotten any easier. Everytime I see my girls (including my ex-wife) drive away...I get an unbearable pain in my chest, lump in my throat, and tear filled eyes. Why do things such as this happen? It's not until this experience that I realized how much I took my family for granted...what a mistake.

  • clquint im right there with you. i get the same pain when i see my girls and ex wife drive off. I took the family life for granted as well. now its mcdonalds parking lot every other weekend. it does get easier

  • I hope people learn something from this song. The most important thing two parents can do for their children is be good to each other. Never take anything for granted.

  • That song is sad but true, my husband and I were together 11 years and in January we separated and he got the kids, the song is kinda my situation but reversed. I was driving home this evening and it came on and I started crying. Great Song!!

  • WOW!!! What a powerful song.

  • Does anybody have the version of this song where Reba sings with Skip Ewing, That's the version our local radio station is playing. I'm assuming that Skip may have written the song, and Kenny can't even come close to Skip vocally.

  • wow...this song played while I was driving down a rainy intersate thinking about the life my wife and I had lived. Twelve years and two beautiful daughters later, we divorced. Seems harder to move on when you didn't want it...

  • it is so hard to see there faces drive away they are my family and i should be with them i hurts so deep in my soul i love them so

  • It hits home thats for sure! I am in the middle of a seperation after 16 plus years of marriage. I get to see my kids more that every other weekend but it still hits home! I would give anything to be a family again. The emptiness is painful beyond belief. Never take anything in a relationship for granted, including your friends.

  • GawnHuntin34 I have my daughter full time yet, I also would give anything if my ex and I could be a family again. Those 15 minutes are not enough. You are so right- I know I will never take anything in a felationship for granted again. Hang in there!!!

  • "LILEAZON502" I was in ur shoes a time ago...ten years ago. My ex wife left me three years ago. Ive never anybody but her. Now Since our divorce I get my kids everyother weekend. Stuff happens..thats for sure. Yet there is not a day that goes by...that I dont talk with my kids, or her for a few minutes. Weve been divorced for about three years now. I still miss them all. Daily. More then anything. Stuff happens...like ur wife finds somebody else...ya sucks. ANyway its a good song!

  • This song really makes me think. I dont ever want to be like this. We are about to have our first baby and I dont want to go down this road. I love her and dont want to lose her. Plus I dont want to be a half time daddy. So baby if you ever read this just know that I Love You and always will.

  • this song makes me cry i don't git to see my dad so this song really explanges me

  • This song says so much that I can not even try to express how much this will always be me!! I will always feel like this with my youngest baby... It is soo hard every weekend that I have to do this that I cry 1/2 way home and I have a 2 hour drive... Great song and I can totally relate!

We have both moved on to other relationships but can not help but wonder what it would be like to be a family again... Live and learn

  • TabbyCat613 I know how you feel. My parents split up when I was 12 and when I first heard this song on the radio I cried so much that I had to pull my car over...I didn't get who sung this song untill tonight when I was searching you tube and ran across it and boy did I cry again...I think every child of divorce wants to see their parents get back together at some point, I know I did for a long time...

  • This song made me cry...I will probably cry every time i heard it. My parents split up when I was 10, so i see what it's like.

  • You would have to been through divorce and have small children to really respect this song. My heart is overwelmed w/ sadness.

  • I cry every time I hear this song.
