@andyrexik Have you heard... most hip hop? Like, for example... a lot of people think they don't like hip hop because they only hear the stuff that gets played on the radio.
@andyrexik nerdcore is hiphop, but why is it stupid to categorize a specific type of anything with another term.
If we went with your little example here, everything alive on the planet that wasn't a plant would be a creature, calling hip hop that deals with nerd-related interests IS nerdcore, it's just a way of being more specific and it's a bit dunce to be mad that people call that.
@DarkBunnyLord That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Music should be categorized by the vocal style and instrumental, not the content of the lyrics. The only time you ever distinguish music like that is when a group's focus is on that subject. A rock band that sings exclusively about God is called a Christian Rock band and a punk band that focuses on anarchist themes is anarcho-punk. MC Chris doesn't focus on being a nerd, he raps about whatever is in his life-- nerdy or otherwise.
@Knarf009 Sub-categorieze not something your familiar with apparently. Nerd core IS still hip hop, they're one in the same.
The fact that you don't understand this is nigh one of the stupidest things I've ever heard (unfortunately there are far stupider people here on youtube).
Thus it IS categorized under it's vocal style and instrumental, it's sub-category deals with it's content which, if you pay any attention to his music, is vastly nerd/geek related.
@DarkBunnyLord MC Chris doesn't focus on being nerdy though, especially with his newer stuff. He's not nerdcore and the whole "sub-genre" is bullshit. I don't call the Clash political punk even though they had plenty of songs about political issues because that wasn't their focus. MC Chris has nerdy songs, but also ones just about regular everyday stuff-- he's not focusing on promoting nerdiness, he's just rapping about his life and story. That's why it's not nerdcore, it's not his focus.
@Knarf009 See now your moving onto something I never claimed as part of your argument.
Originally the discussion was simply "why label anything nerdcore, it's all hiphop" not "is everything MC Christ does hiphop". The discussion was simply whether nerdcore even should exist as a label (which to anyone with a brain it clearly should since sub-categories are important to be more specific).
@DarkBunnyLord I thought I had already explained that it was pointless. Ok, back on that then: How do you define nerdy? That in itself is subjective, unlike something being about God or Politics. What is nerdy? Rapping about star wars? That's debatable.Unless they're explicitly talking about being a nerd then I don't see how you could define it as nerdxcore. So what artist in almost every song talks about being a nerd?I can't name any, so why have the sub-genre for something almost non-existant?

@DarkBunnyLord "as such labels arise out of a majority, not a minorities, opinion." That's an argumentum ad populum and it has no merit. It doesn't matter how many people agree-- it's subjective no matter what. Until there is a non-subjective way to define nerdiness the label "nerdcore" is pointless. Hell, in Jerkin' music they regularly call themselves geeks and nerds, but that's not considered nerdcore-- why? The whole label is nothing more than arbitrary bullshit.
@Knarf009 Again you have no clue what your talking about.
While where at it lets apply your logic to all music, there is no country, rock, rap, hip hop, techno, emo, goth, etc. Hell lets apply it to everything there is only existence, nothing should be sub-labeled that's ridiculous.
Popularity has merit, if it didn't slang terms used by the populace would never make it into the industry, but low and behold they do or everything would just be called music if we used your rather limited scope.
@DarkBunnyLord And this is where you show your ignorance of music and disqualify your opinion. Country, rock, hip-hop, techno, etc. are defined by vocal styling and or instrumental structure. You can take 4 chords and make a country song, a punk song, a rock n roll song, a reggae song, a techno song or a rap song all by how you sing or you play the chords. Emphasis on the upstroke for example defines reggae, simplicity and speed defines punk and so forth and so on. Now shut up retard.
@Knarf009 Calling someone a retard when you can't even match your own definition.
Punk, Rock, Metal, all have very key similarities, much of what defines them as separate is their content in songs not just their minor variations in vocal and instrumental styling.
On top of that Nerd core has a different musical styling often, apparently you've never heard the 8-bit stuff. You can rant and rage your retardation as much as you want, it doesn't stop the fact that Nerdcore is a defined genre retard.
@DarkBunnyLord Punk has absolutely nothing that defines it lyrically. Minor Threat sang about not doing drugs, NoFX sang about doing drugs. Blink 182 never talks politics, Anti-Flag pretty much only talks politics. Tsunami Bomb, The Distillers and X-Ray Spex all use female vocalists of different styles and all are punk. What defines punk and MADE punk was the straying away from fundamental rock n roll structure, simplifying it and speeding it up. Hell some consider Devo punk.
@Knarf009 Drugs is a terrible example, it's used everywhere almost NO BANDS use video games / comics so heavily in their music. Hip/Hop with heavy use of video games / comics is nerdcore whether you like it or not. There are bands that call themselves that, and you don't see them in stores simply because it hasn't been around for a long time and isn't in large production.
Go look it up, just about anywhere will say it's a sub-genre of hip hop.
@DarkBunnyLord The Moldy Peaches made reference to the Konami code in one of their songs and they're not nerdcore, and neither is Entombed who made a song about the comic book character Wolverine. Statik Selektah isn't nerdcore, listen to the song. I could keep arguing with you but by this point everyone can see you're a dumb faggot and it's safe to dismiss you as such now.
@Knarf009 Wow so with your moron logic I suppose there's no such thing as Blues because Dethklok used some of it's elements in one of there songs, or there's no such thing as classical because some metal used it in their songs.
You fail, period. Elements of one genre appearing in another =/= that genre not existing, that's a fools logic.
Done arguing with your dumb ass, deny it all you want, but the fact that there are bands that label themselves as such all over the place proves you wrong.
@DarkBunnyLord Rock n Roll is derived from Blues, it uses the pentatonic scale and the blues scale is built on the pentatonic scale. You know absolutely nothing about music. Rock n roll, and metal for that part, is constructed very differently than blues although it uses similar elements.
Stop fucking talking about music PLEASE, go take music lessons. You clearly know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about music theory and it's sad. Why are you talking about something you've never in your life studied?
@Knarf009 No shit Sherlock, your definition stated that if it wasn't absolutely 100% different though that it didn't exist. Stop building your retarded strawman argument, you already contradicted yourself.
You refuse to see what is a plain culture developed sub-genre as any 10 second google search could tell you.
@DarkBunnyLord I never stated any sentiment even remotely close to that. You might want to learn how to read before you comment further. I never built a strawman argument either so while you're at it go look that term up and learn how to use it correctly. I don't have to acknowledge any sub-genre if it isn't adequately defined from a musical standpoint. Furthermore, mc Chris himself doesn't define himself as nerdcore and he has every right not to do so. You are too stupid for words.
@Knarf009 Yes, yes you did. You claimed it had to have a unique sound, then in your last post claimed that one sound was derived from another. As for a Strawman argument I know exactly what it means, you built up facts then pointed out fallacies within them contradicting your own argument as if I myself had said points I never said.
As for it being a sub-genre, you don't have to acknowledge it, but you it doesn't make you correct.
Mc Chris HAS defined some of his music as nerdcore before.
@DarkBunnyLord Dude, do you honestly not realize there is a difference between being unique and 100% different? As far as "unique" goes, snowflakes are unique but you know what one is immediately when you see it. Are you that fucking stupid? Everything I said was in relation to what YOU were saying, I never built up a false idea of what you were saying. I can't help that you don't know what the fuck you're talking about and don't call the dumb shit you say a "strawman" that I'm building.
@Knarf009 Fail troll is fail, good day sir. You can huff and puff and blow your dipshit hissyfit all you want, doesn't kill the culture out there that even a blindman could find.
@DarkBunnyLord The culture? Nerds existed long before Nerds thought they could rap. On top of that, the majority of people don't acknowledge or are even aware of "nerdcore". Ask around for once, and the average person will have no clue what you're talking about. Now, ask people if they know what punk, goth, metal, or emo is and they'll more likely know exactly what those are. "Nerdcore" is nothing but a poorly defined bullshit genre that some nerds made up to feel special.
@Knarf009 Right taking notes now on your bs, if something uses anything another music genre uses it doesn't exist. If most people haven't heard of it, it also doesn't exist.
@DarkBunnyLord You're still not getting it... Really dude, REALLY? I just STATED rock n roll is derived from blues and I'm acknowledging it as its' own genre. The pentatonic scale and the blues scale WHILE SIMILAR are used to produce two distinctive styles. Nothing differentiates nerdcore from regular hiphop from an instrumental standpoint. The only thing that defines nerdcore is the flimsy and arbitrary idea of nerdiness. Benefit rapped about Mario and he's not nerdcore. WTF IS NERDCORE THEN?
@Knarf009 No you're not getting it. One person TAKING SOMETHING does not suddenly make that genre non-existent. So what that benefit took the 8-bit and used it in his rap, that song WAS nerdcore by definition.
It was hip-hop using a sound style that was developed BEFORE he used it BY bands labeled as nerdcore, his use of it didn't suddenly delete those bands.
On top of that, some metal uses everything blues uses and more, that doesn't make blues non-existent because metal used everything it did.
@DarkBunnyLord No metal song has ever used everything blues does, you don't know what you're talking about. And Benefit didn't make a nerdcore song. You see the funny thing about that bullshit genre is it rests on how the artists identifies themselves. Only artists identifying themselves as nerdcore are to be labeled as such-- which makes a fuuuuuuuckton of sense, right? YOU don't even seem to know what nerdcore is though so stop talking, retard.
@Knarf009 Right cause clearly you know better than the numerous bands, fans, hell even G4 and all it's staff (who did a special on it some time back), etc.
Your just another stupid ass kid that thinks you know everything. If Benefit sung a folky song with country style it would be country, he happened to sing a nerdcore song ie 8-bit AFTER it was coined as being something you unique to nerdcore (he even based the name off a fucking video game).
@DarkBunnyLord Nice argumentum ad populum again. Maybe you could try making an argument with merit, but that's unlikely to happen since you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Benefit's backing track isn't even 8-bit. 8-bit isn't even nerdcore either you asshat, that's labled Chiptunes like Anamanaguchi. Back to the original point though. Suppose benefit's song is nerdcore; he however, is not nerdcore. MC chris may have nerdcore songs, but HE is not.
It doesn't matter if your artist included one nerdcore song. 8-Bit IS that distinguishing noise you just claimed I didn't provide.
There are PUBLISHED bands LABELED as nerdcore that use the definitive sound. No one gives a shit if MC Chris or anyone else does more than "just" nerdcore that's not the point, your arguing it's existence, something you are completely wrong about but to ignorant to admit.
@DarkBunnyLord Nerdcore is NOT defined by 8-bit backing tracks. MC Frontalot is considered "Nerdcore" and he isn't using 8-bit tracks, in fact I can't think of any artist that does except that one song by Statik Selektah and he's not Nerdcore. That simple fact is why I argue that "Nerdcore" is a bullshit genre. The genre is self proclaimed and the only unifying aspect is that it's about nerdy topics which is arbitrary and debatable. They're SELF PUBLISHED artists you assclown.
@Knarf009 He used it after theres did you dipshit, that doesn't make him have claim over the style. God your retarded. Done with this shit, have fun wallowing in your own ignorance you fucking moron.
@DarkBunnyLord Ok now to address the 8-bit thing. Statik Selektah used the 8-bit Punch Out tune for his song "Punch Out" and he's not nerdcore at all. 8-bit tunes don't define it as nerdcore therefore nerdcore doesn't have a defining instrumental style-- at least 8-bit isn't it. Also, if I go into a record store I won't find a section labeled "nerdcore", but it's a well defined genre? You can try to call me a retard in return all you want, but your words prove my claims. Mine don't prove yours.
@Knarf009 You do realize punch-out is a video game right? Hmmm something that uses 8-bit and talks about a video game .... yes, that would be nerdcore with a defining instrumental sound.
Claiming that this genre doesn't exist is quite ignorant, there are several bands that define themselves as nerdcore and there content/sound is very different compared to other genres.
My words don't prove your claims, your just ignoring a large sub-culture out there by slamming your fingers in your ears.
@94EglVisionTSI better than paper planes is true but paper planes is still good i just hate the little kid part i wish they would have put the mc chris ownz chorus instead...
@UFCuniverse if you got a uncompressed high quality version of both songs, (EG not an MP3) then you could "fix" the remix and call it "mc chris ownz paper planez (fixed)" which is what im thinking about doing right now
@andyrexik I don't know many normal rappers who rap about the kind of stuff Fronalot, Chris, Lars, and Beefy rap about. That's probably why there's a subgenre for it.
lady gaga makes me sick she can cum suck my 3in dic, now mc chris that mutha phucka is sick, whippen slick shit left an right that mutha phucker can rap all night!
ok hip hop may sound simple but its not i myself dont prefer it but dont say its simple until u come to me with a worldwide hit hip hop song than u can tell me its simple
mc chris isnt nerdcore he hates the genre he claimed it at one point just so he can get alot of props and monies now he hates the genre and doesnt claim it

Knarf009 1 year ago
@Knarf009 Wow so with your moron logic I suppose there's no such thing as Blues because Dethklok used some of it's elements in one of there songs, or there's no such thing as classical because some metal used it in their songs.
You fail, period. Elements of one genre appearing in another =/= that genre not existing, that's a fools logic.
Done arguing with your dumb ass, deny it all you want, but the fact that there are bands that label themselves as such all over the place proves you wrong.
DarkBunnyLord 1 year ago
@DarkBunnyLord Rock n Roll is derived from Blues, it uses the pentatonic scale and the blues scale is built on the pentatonic scale. You know absolutely nothing about music. Rock n roll, and metal for that part, is constructed very differently than blues although it uses similar elements.
Stop fucking talking about music PLEASE, go take music lessons. You clearly know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about music theory and it's sad. Why are you talking about something you've never in your life studied?
Knarf009 1 year ago
@Knarf009 No shit Sherlock, your definition stated that if it wasn't absolutely 100% different though that it didn't exist. Stop building your retarded strawman argument, you already contradicted yourself.
You refuse to see what is a plain culture developed sub-genre as any 10 second google search could tell you.
DarkBunnyLord 1 year ago
@DarkBunnyLord I never stated any sentiment even remotely close to that. You might want to learn how to read before you comment further. I never built a strawman argument either so while you're at it go look that term up and learn how to use it correctly. I don't have to acknowledge any sub-genre if it isn't adequately defined from a musical standpoint. Furthermore, mc Chris himself doesn't define himself as nerdcore and he has every right not to do so. You are too stupid for words.
Knarf009 1 year ago
@Knarf009 Yes, yes you did. You claimed it had to have a unique sound, then in your last post claimed that one sound was derived from another. As for a Strawman argument I know exactly what it means, you built up facts then pointed out fallacies within them contradicting your own argument as if I myself had said points I never said.
As for it being a sub-genre, you don't have to acknowledge it, but you it doesn't make you correct.
Mc Chris HAS defined some of his music as nerdcore before.
DarkBunnyLord 1 year ago
@DarkBunnyLord Dude, do you honestly not realize there is a difference between being unique and 100% different? As far as "unique" goes, snowflakes are unique but you know what one is immediately when you see it. Are you that fucking stupid? Everything I said was in relation to what YOU were saying, I never built up a false idea of what you were saying. I can't help that you don't know what the fuck you're talking about and don't call the dumb shit you say a "strawman" that I'm building.
Knarf009 1 year ago
@Knarf009 Fail troll is fail, good day sir. You can huff and puff and blow your dipshit hissyfit all you want, doesn't kill the culture out there that even a blindman could find.
DarkBunnyLord 1 year ago
@DarkBunnyLord The culture? Nerds existed long before Nerds thought they could rap. On top of that, the majority of people don't acknowledge or are even aware of "nerdcore". Ask around for once, and the average person will have no clue what you're talking about. Now, ask people if they know what punk, goth, metal, or emo is and they'll more likely know exactly what those are. "Nerdcore" is nothing but a poorly defined bullshit genre that some nerds made up to feel special.
Knarf009 1 year ago
@Knarf009 Right taking notes now on your bs, if something uses anything another music genre uses it doesn't exist. If most people haven't heard of it, it also doesn't exist.
Wow are you some sort of wizard?
DarkBunnyLord 1 year ago
@DarkBunnyLord You're still not getting it... Really dude, REALLY? I just STATED rock n roll is derived from blues and I'm acknowledging it as its' own genre. The pentatonic scale and the blues scale WHILE SIMILAR are used to produce two distinctive styles. Nothing differentiates nerdcore from regular hiphop from an instrumental standpoint. The only thing that defines nerdcore is the flimsy and arbitrary idea of nerdiness. Benefit rapped about Mario and he's not nerdcore. WTF IS NERDCORE THEN?
Knarf009 1 year ago
@Knarf009 No you're not getting it. One person TAKING SOMETHING does not suddenly make that genre non-existent. So what that benefit took the 8-bit and used it in his rap, that song WAS nerdcore by definition.
It was hip-hop using a sound style that was developed BEFORE he used it BY bands labeled as nerdcore, his use of it didn't suddenly delete those bands.
On top of that, some metal uses everything blues uses and more, that doesn't make blues non-existent because metal used everything it did.
DarkBunnyLord 1 year ago
@DarkBunnyLord No metal song has ever used everything blues does, you don't know what you're talking about. And Benefit didn't make a nerdcore song. You see the funny thing about that bullshit genre is it rests on how the artists identifies themselves. Only artists identifying themselves as nerdcore are to be labeled as such-- which makes a fuuuuuuuckton of sense, right? YOU don't even seem to know what nerdcore is though so stop talking, retard.
Knarf009 1 year ago
@Knarf009 Right cause clearly you know better than the numerous bands, fans, hell even G4 and all it's staff (who did a special on it some time back), etc.
Your just another stupid ass kid that thinks you know everything. If Benefit sung a folky song with country style it would be country, he happened to sing a nerdcore song ie 8-bit AFTER it was coined as being something you unique to nerdcore (he even based the name off a fucking video game).
So no, I won't let you retards run rampant.
DarkBunnyLord 1 year ago
@DarkBunnyLord Nice argumentum ad populum again. Maybe you could try making an argument with merit, but that's unlikely to happen since you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Benefit's backing track isn't even 8-bit. 8-bit isn't even nerdcore either you asshat, that's labled Chiptunes like Anamanaguchi. Back to the original point though. Suppose benefit's song is nerdcore; he however, is not nerdcore. MC chris may have nerdcore songs, but HE is not.
Knarf009 1 year ago
@Knarf009 Nice lack of argument you dipshit.
DarkBunnyLord 1 year ago
@DarkBunnyLord Nerdcore is NOT defined by 8-bit backing tracks. MC Frontalot is considered "Nerdcore" and he isn't using 8-bit tracks, in fact I can't think of any artist that does except that one song by Statik Selektah and he's not Nerdcore. That simple fact is why I argue that "Nerdcore" is a bullshit genre. The genre is self proclaimed and the only unifying aspect is that it's about nerdy topics which is arbitrary and debatable. They're SELF PUBLISHED artists you assclown.
Knarf009 1 year ago
@Knarf009 He used it after theres did you dipshit, that doesn't make him have claim over the style. God your retarded. Done with this shit, have fun wallowing in your own ignorance you fucking moron.
DarkBunnyLord 1 year ago
@DarkBunnyLord Ok now to address the 8-bit thing. Statik Selektah used the 8-bit Punch Out tune for his song "Punch Out" and he's not nerdcore at all. 8-bit tunes don't define it as nerdcore therefore nerdcore doesn't have a defining instrumental style-- at least 8-bit isn't it. Also, if I go into a record store I won't find a section labeled "nerdcore", but it's a well defined genre? You can try to call me a retard in return all you want, but your words prove my claims. Mine don't prove yours.
Knarf009 1 year ago
@Knarf009 You do realize punch-out is a video game right? Hmmm something that uses 8-bit and talks about a video game .... yes, that would be nerdcore with a defining instrumental sound.
Claiming that this genre doesn't exist is quite ignorant, there are several bands that define themselves as nerdcore and there content/sound is very different compared to other genres.
My words don't prove your claims, your just ignoring a large sub-culture out there by slamming your fingers in your ears.

@Fuctmentality increasing the bass makes low notes louder, not lowering high notes.
