I wish I knew where my injector razor was. It was free when you bought blades, and had a fourspeed gearshift knob on the end. It was wicked cool when I was 15.
By the grace of God, my parents happened to leave their pair of Injectors lying around for the past 25 years. I believe my dad uses a Sensor now despite my discouraging it? I suppose old habits die hard. Anyway, they only had one half-used case of blades left, which were all in usable condition. However, not being able to find any more, I've been "forced" to order a new Merkur, being unable to find any other used DE razors anywhere. I hate not being able to use these other two razors, though.
They work great! Better than that multi-blade garbage that they're making now. I've had, and used mine for about 35 years and I just recently bought another one on eBay for my son. These are also the best razors for trimming a beard. the only problem now is trying to find blades for it. Schick and Gillette stopped making them because they can make so much more money on the multi-blades.
I'm 56 and this was the first razor I bought myself at 17 when I went into the army. It really took thinking about how to shave with it because it's a different shave than a DE razor. It's more like a straight razor in a safety razor. Once I figured out that you don't have to press and you do a double or "four way shave" (google it) I never went back to the DE razor. This razor still gives me the best shave I've ever had. The one I have now I bought in 1980. The blades are still cheap.
@x101x23 I'm 55 and I've had mine since I can remember also. I'd like to know where you are finding injector blades? Can they be ordered from Japan? I was finding them at Rite-Aid Drugs but I think they stopped carrying them and I don't want to pay $10 for a 7-pack on eBay for them. Thanks
Mantic59, are these razors just as good as a single blade? cause if they are, ill just get this instead. Ive read places that claim they are the same, cause its the same concept, but your a pro, so what do you say?
walkerdav2003- Unfortunately you're going to have to look at flea markets or antique shops (or ebay). I know of no source that are making "new" Injectors at the moment.
When I was Four, Dad left the injector on the sink. holding it with both My little hands, I advanced a new blade across the pad of my left thumb! Memories don't come cheep.
yeah usually one would position the other side of the razor over a blade bank/vault or something
my grandpa used an injector (type F i believe) and ejected his old blades into a little carboard box and kept them in his tackle box to cut fishing line with
Cute little vid. I've watched them all and haven't gotten around to thanking you, yet, so, thank you.
I've been using a Schick injector for nearly twenty years. Since your videos, I've gotten rid of the can of gel and moved to a brush and cream, and am enjoying them immensely. The question I've always had is, "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?" Oops. Wrong question.
How many shaves will a blade be good for? I shave about twice a week.
There are a lot of variables (brand of blade, the type of skin and beard, etc.) but a rough rule-of-thumb is about 5 shaves. I go a week then change blades routinely.

When you pushed the new blade into the razor, there was a sharp pain in my left-hand middle finger! O_O;

Thanks for all these videos, the internet has been blessed by you presence, and I LOL'd at how you made the razor "walk" onto the screen.

I've just noticed, isn't that one of the "O" type injectors only released in Japan? How did you get that? You're very lucky to find one.
MikeRyu 1 year ago
@MikeRyu Its actually an O-type "clone" that was available from nationwidecampus(dot)com a few years ago for a limited time.

PublicEnemydX- generally they are just as good as a DE razor and blade but they are more difficult to find.
