can you email me at amcskid@hotmail.com im droping a 5.0l out of a 68 mustang need help with what i need can you help i have the same truck the ford ranger splash its a 93 thanx for any help you can give me
@MyGta123 You can tell your friend he is an ass clown a 460ci is a 7.5L engine and has not been used by ford since the late 80's early 90's I believe. Anyone who has ever owned one will tell you they weren't exactly fuel friendly.
As a matter of fact, this truck is making more than engough power to split the block. Its not a big block. its a bone stock 98 302 long block (the only thing that has been changed on the long block is the cam, it even has the stock rockers!).
427,428,429,460 are ford engines, but ford never classified there engines as small and big block, only chevy did, in ford you have windsor, cleavland, marine
Actually, correct. Its a "inbetween motor" but by car restorers (like myself) its considered part of the "big block" family. Altho you were correct on the ford not declaring them as big blocks.
@MyGta123 yea im sure and no ford did not classify there engine as small and big block like chevy, chevy is the only company to put there engine in catagorys like that
@humantestdummy finally someone with some since, i get so sick of this small block big block nonsense, just call it by it's size and forget the confusion.
Yessa. Ford has made so many engines that push out incredible numbers. Ford is number 1 in every category other than shit. Chevy has taken that one with flying colors.
302 is a small motor. The Ford explorer up until recently was basically a ranger with a different cab. But the front end was the same. For several years ford offered the 302/5.0 in the explorer, so just find a 5.0 explorer, and all the parts should bolt right into a ranger
The motor didn't just bolt right in. We notched the frame rails to accept solid mustang motor mounts. We did this to lower the motor so that the intake would clear the factory hood.
What's a slightly easier swap that doesn't require too much modification? My 94 Acura Integra was stolen last week so now I have a 91 ranger farm truck with a 2.3. I hate hondas now I want to make this thing fast.
vinavichi- the 302 V8 is the easiest swap you can do (i use easy loosely) in comparison to other engine block swaps on the ford motors.. the 302 is aka the 5.0 used in mustangs.
do you have a build thread?????? as id like to do some research =)
