my mariner (jap version 6E9) was pushing a Marina 12 foot speed boat with a very deep v hull I tried several props but it perfomed best with the Black Max and believe me it was fast. The engine was using Castrol "Power 1 race" 2 stroke for bikes it is 100 times better for your engine than outboard oil, I guarantee you.
Fuel mixture 40:1 no other mods just clean carbs, I've tried tuning outboards and it can't realy be done as they are on the limit now THE OIL MAKES THE BIG DIFFERENCE!

managed 47.18mph with my 40hp and a 14 pitch prop. on the look out for a 15 pitch as it was reving a little high. cracking engine.
