Man, this is great! I just wrote a whole short story partly based on this song and my Short Stories course.
When we present the story to the class we have to being in the songs we used for inspiration, and I'm going to show this video.

No way, Tennessee Ernie Ford is too uppity for the words, this is a very sad tune. I was just trying to strum slow and soulful, and then saw this version...and put my guitar down...wow.

this is an amazing cover. i like this song a lot more when it is sung blues style, the lyrics fit better when sung that way. excellent
