  • @Punkcrib - Technically you're correct. There is a bit of a difference between sharpening & honing a knife. Honing is actually precision sharpening of a blade. There is a requirement for the knife to have some form of a sharp(ish) edge. But for the sake of simplicity, I state here that this is how to sharpen a knife - because it's the term we use in a home kitchen. And at the end of the day ... when you hone your knife, it not sharper.

  • This isn't sharpening a knife, this is honing it. Have you ever tried honing a blunt blade? It produces no results - because the knife needs to be sharp in order to be honed.

  • Finally a sharpening video that's to the point and makes sense for the layperson. Thank you!
