  • @XXXDEVILBOY i smell somebody who hasent watched boondocks

  • "Where there is smoke there is fire". To that statement I would add "Where there is unskilled, uneducated ignorance, there are ignorant conclusions."

  • lol thy even clap their hands. hahhaha

  • They make a fire so fast. Americans can't even make a fire that fast using gasoline

  • @archrom1 probably because we dont live outside in the dirt... why would we need to know how to make fire with sticks? even if we wanted to go camping we have invented easier ways.

  • Chuck Norris creates fire by rubbbing two ice cubes together.

  • @1staccountwarrock HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • You can char the dung like char cloth and make even better tinder. Best stuff you can get guaranteed!

  • This helped me with a report i am doing....... how intresting!!!!!!

  • need to know this shit in case you're lost in the fucking middle of nowhere.

  • Fucking Americans amazed by the simplest shit.

  • @Ilikemustard Try do it yourself. Wont seem so simple anymore.

  • @GameMakerPrince

I have done it, it's simple once you've learnt how to do it properly.

P.S. Why do you use Game Maker?

  • @Ilikemustard I don't only use Game Maker, I also use C++, Java, and also Construct just because it's interesting and actually very high quality, open source, and free.

But the reason why I use Game Maker these days is so I can help others who use it, maybe even make a few games while I'm at it. Game Maker isn't the best, but it can still make a fun, memorable game.

  • @Ilikemustard lol try making a friction fire and then tell us how easy it is.

  • @towelhat

Good comment. Anyone who says friction fire is easy has either not tried it or is lying. Having a good hand drill or bow drill set makes getting a coal relatively easy, but making such a set involves a lot of knowledge, skill and work - especially for the hand drill like these men are using in the video.

  • fail clap LOL

  • fkin bad as hell finally ppl who can start a fire without a god dam string and 5x faster as well

  • someone give these guys a lighter ^^ 2011 FTW!

  • My great great great great ... 49,999 times, ...great grandfather Discovered/Preserved Fire like this.! :)

  • @venom1234afi I think yeah because Its a bio fuel too.. I wanna really try making fire without matches n lighters... Its real fun and nostalgic (about 10,000 years of it)

  • it helps if you live in a hot country.

in england you would have to work harder with the wet wood.

  • If only Chuck Noland knew this..

  • @vbartoletti u do 2

  • reminds me of the movie CAST away...

  • i think this guy is dead now

he was 81 in 2004 and he has not been on for 3 years soooo

    he dead

  • I made a campfire much the same way for my kids. It works really good when you put match-heads in the hole when they aren't looking.

  • that was fast ......

  • HOW LONG DID IT TAKE HIM TO MAKE SMOKE????!!?! Really though, how long?

  • Only Took Their Civilization 13 000 years to Learn How To Make Fire

  • @Tadddius xD, well t takes time, they didn't know what they were making after all.

  • next time someone asks you for a lighter , hand him a stick and a piece of wood.(and if your really in a good mood, some of that dry grass)

  • @N1bbyZ LMFAO!! XD

  • I would like to say thanks to all the niggers that taught us how to make the fire today. Here here

  • @BongeeGrandpa nope not all cause i shit on him

  • is that a golden watch in his left hand?

  • @kuyajhet No I don't think it's a watch, it's some type of bracelet I think.

  • very well skilled people.

  • holy sheet, that was almost as fast as putting a lighter to it, well done Master, I mean maasai!!! Thank for the vid!

  • @BongeeGrandpa LOL.LOL

  • thats cool guess they dont need lighters and matches for there smokes

  • tourists act like theyve never seen a fire

  • response to fireraisr....

in defence of the "tourists" ...dont you think that if this tribe came to say america they would be at all amazed or stunned or frightend by the way we can do simple acts such as go up and down elevators or go on the internet.... ect ect ect

i mean even a 3 year old in america knows how to perform simple acts that they would see as amazing or stunning?

  • What I want to know is how they made the board with the hole in it.

  • freakin tourists acting like delighted kids when a man uses a survival skill that the 3 year olds in his tribe could perform. I hate that, basically looking at the guy like he's a sideshow.

  • That was fast! Did you edit this footage to make it shorter?

  • applauds. but i wonder how burning elephant dung smells....

  • firelightin skills

  • Heeey where's wilson!? (Cast away)

  • hmm, i wonder how long that actually took, there is no way it took a minute

  • I have a buddy who can do it in just under 2 minutes.

It is do-able, just have to know what you're doing.

    Takes me about 5 minutes.

  • Well now, where am I going to get elephant dung?!

  • @vbpeepee From an elephant. :P

  • @vbpeepee You can also use Buffalo or cow dung.Wait,You don't have to do that much, just use your own POOP.

  • @vbpeepee you just stand behind an elephant and wait until poop comes out. where's the problem?

  • @vbpeepee well lemme tell you a top government secret all you gotta do is stand- oh shit ive said too much *amnesia ray*

  • yeah baby..hit me ohyesh

  • hahahhahaahahaahaahahaahahahahaa tat shit is funny

  • @007rapz LOL, FIRE!!! I think they really still are cavemen. xD i herd most of the white people live in or on mountains, haha.

  • @007rapz well i bet if we try it, we'll be sat there cursing with nothing, while they'll have cooked meat and a fire blazing LOL

  • WOOD=FIRE <3

  • Can one use a broom stick to create a friction fire?!

  • yes!

  • @zluvu4ever

Yes. I'll be demonstrating that one in my series of "101 ways to make fire".

Does depend what type of wood the broom is made from, though.

  • Ohh.. I want to learn :D

    Have someone tried it out?

If sow... How long did it take?

  • @123godthatsme

There are quite a few videos on YouTube showing how it's done.

It is possible, with practice and the right wood, to get an ember within about ten seconds.

Expect to spend a few years practising, though.....

  • There it is you bitch ass white man.

    Fire you blue eyed devil.

    happy?

  • i have green eyes thank you lol

  • i bet the smoke most smell like shit!!!!!1

  • (sarcasm)

we all learned from school and from hollywood that the white men went down there to teach them this trick. they couldn't have possibly come up with it on their own.

  • WOW THAT WOULD BE GREAT if we hade elifint shit

  • pussy

  • I'd like to see you into the wild without your stuff, like the maasai. Good Luck!

  • we sweds just takes to flintstones... lol :D

  • Ha ha. I've heard of Australian aborigines using friction and kangaroo dung. I suppose any herbivore's dung would work (high fiber content). I should try bison or cow.

  • You don't need any type of shit to make fire

  • i wonder how fast they do it

  • They use a very straight, clean stick, and they press very hard into the wood while they spin. Also, this movie was edited because to actually start the base embers takes at least 5 minutes.

  • good on them =]

  • interesting...

  • can somebody here tell me what material to make that fire please tell me cause if i go camping and stuff please

  • clean straight stick elephant poop and wood that looks like the one in the video

  • Depending upon your region you could use Mullien stalk...very common plant on roadsides,

cattail or dandelion fluff instead of dung, for the fireboard a medium grade wood like elm seems to work fine for the hand drill. It does take a lot of pressure and muscles you never knew you had...but can be accomplished with the above mentioned common materials.

  • @bigbangfan07

Depends on where you live. In most places, you would be able to find the right type of wood growing naturally.

Generally, you're looking for something that is light, strong and fibrous. Usually light or white in colour. The difficult part is getting a straight spindle of the right proportions. In Southern Africa, they often use a straight stick of one wood with a tip of another, softer wood attached.

  • -THANK YOU-

  • And we shit in our own drinking water, flush it away as waste then try and treat it with chemicals to make it clean again. tbh I think their way makes more sense as they retain the nutrients in the soil.

  • so dig a hole in your yard and keep your nutrients in your soil

  • Do a google search for the Humanure Handbook

  • iam glad to be african american these people are inspiring. i wish i was just african and not american

  • Then go move to Africa :)

    Seriously. What's stopping you?

  • Lol, yea thats true, very good demonstration on that friction method. I learnt something from just watching that, being that im new to firemaking. Thankyou for posting this video clip sir.

  • Right.

  • this type of fire lighting has been going for years and im so glad to see its still being pasted down to the younger genaration these days are past genarations whould be proud
