Excellent movie! The Sephardic music of Judy Frankel coupled with Sara telling her own story is so emotionally powerful. I cried when she boarded the ship for America. Sara having the forethought of leaving all she knew and loved behind was such a courageous and powerful act. Thank you for the reminder that there is living history all around us, if we just take the time to listen and learn. I recommend this movie to everyone!
A very inspirational story of one woman's triumph over dire circumstances at a time when the world was plunged into a humanitarian abyss. The Director did well to let Sara tell her story in her own way, in her own words, and to let her son be able to add perspective to her story. Bravo! Well done!
The use and connection of Judy Frankel's Sephardic music sets a distinct undertone of both hopefullness and despair. It is evident the director and affiliates of the dicumentary were deligent and thougtful to include such music to draw a critical relationship of music and Sara's life story.
The life of Sara Levi of Rhodes can tell you exactly what’s wrong with the world – if you’re willing to see it!
I not joking, in this semi-deep inquiry we are all invited to Sara’s island as philosophical quests because - almost silently - the film seeks big answers but doesn't necessarily finds them (that’s our job, the viewers job).
Sara’s story could have benefited from even more of a personal dramatic edge but to the director’s credit Sara was allowed to walk the walk just alone without a cosmetic dose of medicine from the director. And this filmmaker’s work it might be called the what's-it-all-about documentary. panos
This is beautiful story of a Jewish woman. The story is an example of many courageous women like her, which took their destiny in their hands and save their lives and thus preserved their culture. I wish many documentaries like this one could be seen by people all over the world.
Recien ahora pude ver la pelicula de Sara de Rhodes es maravillosa , conmovedora y bellamente narrada y escrita. La quiero mostrar en mis cursos sobre literatura judia de America Latina...
This is a very special documentary about a fascinating woman from the island of Rhodes. The director created the film for anyone who loves history art and humanity.
The music and cinamatography make this an enjoyable film to see.
I am very glad that they finally made a video on my good friend Sara Levi, and included a bit of Sephardic history. It was a pleasure to see her again via this video. Thanks to those who made it possible.
