you will need to us a diode with the relay as you are getting back EMF, which makes the sparks diode 1n4001

Thanks for your comment.
I found that if you use the diode in parallel with a battery across it, it charges the battery with the fly back!

not bad, but are you using transistor. you will need one, if you do not what to blow the reed switch. a 2n3055 transistor or a bc337
I have started using a 2n3055 now, 10 of my 50 reed switches have now sighed with relief as they looked at their dead friends.....
Doh!
Heheh... That certainly looks like a chattering relay, Kubikop...
See them yummy arcs in the relay housing ???
Wires, from coil, to your 'destination' and you have flyback on demand...

I think my battery will eat them arcs up, might wait for the cap to charge on a timer to increase the pd, then lead acid dinner time.....
Ill post If its any good....
Cool... That might give me time to take some photos of some basic circuit diagrams my pal drew for us... :)
I'll email them to you when done.
I have been told Im drawing too much Current and a Contactor is needed (A Large Relay Thang) I will get one soon
