As far as the money is concerned, I dont kow if they do actually make money from it or not. But I know for a fact that these naatkhawan make cds for you, so that you may listen to naats more often rather than music. This is why they make up new tune and / or copy indian tunes. which is allowed in islam. Only music is haram in islam except for the Daf (one sided drum with a light sound to it).

Allah mentioned in al-Qur'an that {Allah has the names of perfection, so call Him with those names and be wear of those that pervert and change His names}. So the name of Allah should not be changed. A L L A H not Alla or Alah or Ah..
