detail stripping, polishing the feed ramp (which rodasj already did) and all other moving parts, say, a touch up with steel wool or a light sanding tip on a dremmel and it will work wonders. my two cents.
My grandmother gave me her Jennings she got it from a US Marshall who used it as his back up gun at the time ... so they must be pretty good .. it depends on the model and the type of gun if you keep it maintained they are wonderful .. the only trouble ive ever had with it is its failure to feed thats just because the cheap magazines i was using at the time .. its an awesome little gun
ahhh Jennings .22 ... my grandmother has one and ive fired this little gun all my life .. first gun i learned how to field strip .. wonderful gun .. sometimes it has mag feed issues though
I bought one of those at Cabelas for like 20 bucks like 4 yrs ago. Really really bad shape. End result it usually won't jam until I put like 200ish rounds through it believe it or not.
I never had a problem with mine... Me and the wife have shot over 2,000 rounds. 22lr ammo is so cheap so instead of spending a ton of money shooting the 9mm all day we can have some fun and not spend a lot of do ray me. I noticed it fires better when its shot faster, the slower the shot the more likely mine has been to jam.. well not jam but the round thats being ejected gets stuck. I have no complaints what so ever with this gun. For $79 you can not complain.
I have one of these and I was about to shoot it until someone told me they can explode in your hand and the firing pin shoots back right into your eye.
I have a J-22 I bought like 6-7 years ago and it jams damn near every magazine I run through it. Lots of double feeds and brass getting caught in the ejection port. What kind of ammo do you use? Have you done anything to make yours reliable, or did I just get one of the shitty ones?
Well I polished the feed ramp and I bought new magazines. That helped a lot. You might want to get a new ejector. That could be your problem. I use regular 550 round 22lr value pack from Walmart.
I found one of these in pieces at a gravel pit I shoot at yesterday. Didn't know anything about em, but it cost $33 for a magazine, 2 springs and the takedown button so even if it doesn't shoot like yours does every time, at $33 I can't complain!
Unload the gun. There is a button on the back of the slide that you must press inwards while pushing the slide backwards and then up. Slide should come off frame, be careful with recoil spring. After slide is off you can remove that little button in the back by pulling it out and you can also pull out the firing pin spring and the firing pin itself so you can clean them as well. Remember how it all goes so you can put it back together correctly. Just repeat the steps backwards.

I never had that problem. Plus you're always supposed to wear eye protection. I forgot my glasses that day.

I have been told the Jennings 22 and 380 are fairly reliable but the 9mm model is a jam o matic.
