but as it seems now, IT WAS NOT!!! I just feel it is the peoples responsibility to probid this from happening, and what they did of treatment for the horses after is for me a small excuse?! we also have secure ice in Norway but I never ever ride on it. also to bring 12 horses moving together on a row is like bringing a jumping bus out on the ice!

Of course it is, it was a mistake, everyone can see that now, but it doesn't change the fact that they were told that the ice was secure. They do drive big trucks on the ice without a problem...

The horses were brought straight to a swimming pool (for horses) where they took a hot bath and then they were dryed using warm light. (heat lamps) They are all fine now, thank God :)

Riding on ice is great, in arenas indoors and out, but natural is better. Each of these well-bred horses is worth a Rolls Royce. The routine is a solo lap in tölt gait. This was the finale. Some were in the water for 30 min. - treated with antibiotics to prevent infection from pond water, rich in bird droppings. One man provided leverage by placing his thigh under the back hooves of some of the horses.

they were lucky that the water was so shallow, if not, that could have taken lifes.. It sounds like all the horses are okey now, and thats good:)

after the horses got up from the water they were rapt up in a blanked and driven to a horse swimming pool 10 min. away and poot under heating lamps. All of them are fine one or to has got a little cold ( kvef :S) but these were all of Iceland's best horses.
